    How did you affix your IKEA pegboards?

    • @RadarRoadWarriors
      @RadarRoadWarriors  3 года назад +4

      The boards come with a bar. It attaches to the board and to the wall and brings the board off the wall about 1” which allows space for everything you attach to the board so it doesn’t not hit the wall.

    I would suggest adding Hyper Vent under your mattress to prevent moisture and mold under there.
    One thing most people don’t consider is cargo capacity. Just because you can fit it into RV doesn’t mean you can keep packing it in.

    Well done. When I saw that your video was 27 minutes long I thought to myself oh boy here is another video where people tell drawn out story to go along with the 3 things they modified in their trailer making the ratio 20 minutes of story to seven minutes of useful information. Boy was I wrong, you both conveyed very useful information without being dry, your cute without being annoying (harder than you think, trust me), and you gave me hope for my current and future projects. Keep up the excellent work.

      We are glad it helped! It was so frustrating trying to find a 5th wheel that my husband would fit into. We had a travel trailer with 8 foot ceilings which was great but we couldn’t live in it full-time without going crazy. When we are looking at RV shows, we quickly figured out just go to the bathroom and see if he fits in the shower before looking at the rest of the RV because we are wasting our time. Then we went on Facebook to ask what 5th wheels have tall ceilings and started searching those brands. This narrowed down our search from hundreds to about 30 options. He still doesn’t fully fit but this RV checked enough boxes to work best for our work needs.
      Even the truck we purchased was hard to find to fit him comfortably inside without hitting his head on the roof when we go over a bump. Guys are arguing which brand is better. My husband is just trying to fit inside. lol

    Gotta love your kitties. Best darn supervisors and greeters around. I introduced my 2 senior cats to rv life a little more then a year ago. They seem to like it better then new apartments or hotels every 3-6 months. I lost my almost 17 year old at end of Feb. the new guy is 8 years old and working it out with the 11 year old. A kitten would have been too much energy for an 11 year old.

    Wow. That RV has the most storage space iv ever seen. My problem is how to make money and be able to live this life. I'm struggling. I bought a used 08 RV and can't even move it, I didn't know I would need a dang BIG RIG to pull this 5th wheel. Next I didn't know anything about an RV so I didn't know what to look for. I took the man's word on everything. I heard you say something about counter balancing the RV.... How do you do that? There is just so many problems iv ran into that now really scared to move it because idk if it will make it down the road. Its been a nightmare for me but I still have Faith and Hope because I can't look back or change. This is my life now. I'm not able to stay in the internet because I have no wifi. • @RadarRoadWarriors
      @RadarRoadWarriors  2 года назад

      We’re glad you found our channel Jerry. Our mid bunk does not stay cool in the summer. If the door is open and we have a fan blowing air into the room is is better but it does not get cool like the rest of the RV. However in the winter it is nice and warm since the best duct blows a lot of air into the bonus room. I’ve seen people make mods to increase the air conditioner flow. -Steve

      For the Dyson, I used some drywall type anchors. They are the ones that require you to drill a 1/4” hole then insert the plastic piece that the screw grips into. The screws and inserts were about one inch long.

    Were your gray tanks plumbed together from the factory, or was this a modification. I have an Open Range 384RLS, but have two separate drain pulls. One for the bathroom gray tank, and another toward the back for the kitchen gray tank.

    • @RadarRoadWarriors
      @RadarRoadWarriors  3 года назад +1

      Our grey tanks are separate from the factory and we have a pull for each tank. All of our grey and black tanks are plumbed into one sewer hose hookup from the factory. When I put the Valterra valve on the end where the sewer hose hooks up, I can pull open the grey tanks while leaving the Valterra valve closed on the end of the pipe to allow the grey tanks to mix and essentially giving me one large grey tank.

    Very good video. I subscribed after watching it. I have an F-350 dually and 40 foot Redwood fifth wheel. I'm looking for a modification to the electronic tailgate release or tailgate itself so the tailgate won't accidently come down while towing. When I'm towing, I run a come-a-long strap from inside the truck bed around the tailgate, and hook it to the trucks 4 inch receiver hitch. I was wondering if you folks do something similar.

      Thank you Humberto,
      We prefer the built in generator vs paralleling 2 portable units. Also the 5,500 watt built in generator is just enough power to run 2 air conditioners and the rest of the RV. We would be too limited on power with 4,000 watts through the 2 Honda’s.

    I have so many questions for you! People think I'm crazy bc we also live FT in our rv with 4 cats! Lol. (I say, he's lucky it's not 10😉) but I'd like to know where the harnesses are from. Also, we enjoy hurricane clean up work. It's so satisfying and helpful, especially here in Louisiana and Texas. I'd love to know how to get a job like y'all have?! The cat boxes are where? Mine are under the dining table bc we don't use it, and in the bunk room. I have a small floor as it is 2 bunks on each side, small closets at the head of each bed and a large one in the center of the back wall. I always look for ideas where to keep them! Y'all have great ideas and execution. I'd really love to hear from you!!
    Edit: how is the feral cat doing indoors? I had to leave my 5th cat behind at my family's land bc my bf didn't think it was fair to make him live indoors. He is definitely an outside baby, but as long as I was home he'd mostly stay nearby. Mostly lol. I really would like to go back for him. I Miss him every day. 😿

    Great video! Lots of information. Question about your battery/inverter setup. Did you relocate all wiring from the front bay to your new battery/inverter area, or just ran longer cables?

    • @RadarRoadWarriors
      @RadarRoadWarriors  3 года назад

      I rerouted the wires. With the batteries in the front bay, the power went to the factory battery disconnect to the fuse by it then to the DC panel inside the RV. With moving the batteries, the power came back from the basement where the factory charger was to the fuse in the front bay (for the automatic levelers and a few other things). I took out the factory charger when I put in the Victron charger/inverter and rerouted the factory wires to the bus bar by the batteries.
