Honestly I started playing duel links to start my Yu-Gi-Oh journey then once I got good my friend convinced me to start playing master duel and I did a couple days ago and now I got my awesome deck x100

Sorry to hear that about your house, I can’t imagine what that’d be like. Hopefully Master Duel is still some consolation for losing your physical deck

My first opponent was a Japanese player running Drytron.
Returning to the game after over a decade, I built my physical deck in game and won my first match with a dice jar and wave motion canon. I later made a new version of the same deck but with time lords. I dont really play specific archetypes, I merge multiple ones that suit each other in my goals

I have two physical decks, One being full of Spellcasters only with different archetypes (Dark Magician/Magician Girls/Silent/ Gagaga/ Ebon/ Arcane/ Tuner/ Gazer/ And few other with good effects) And a Deck full of Madolche Monsters That freaking killer when done right And to be able to make that Deck in game and Win with them let's me know I made a good Deck to beat Meta Decks!

I’d love to know what your deck looked like. This kind of yugioh is why I fell in love with it, I used to play it at school and remember the older kids, especially 2 rich kids that had perfectly formatted and meta decks would thrash people, so I decided to look through all my cards and find unlikely combinations from everywhere I could think of, it ended up somehow being a crystal beast synchro and e-hero deck filled with cards I’d collected from people who traded me for the meta deck I’d built, mainly traps and “useless cards” like… pot of greed (dumbass, although I never did figure out what it’s actual effect was) and importantly return from different dimension, and of course swords of revealing light, dark hole, and what was ultimately the hardest to find, and I had to play in glass casing (gifted by my family friend after a playfight with sand ended with him jokingly throwing clumps of rocky sand that exploded on the ground to screw with me… until one hit me accidentally right in the fucking eye) the “get your game on” card, which states that if you were present at the 2007 world event, all your e-hero’s and neo spatians attacks are doubled. He happened to have won the card, and I happened to have been there with him, a fight even broke out after school when I used it because they claimed it was fake until he showed up to come see why I hadn’t come home in time, and told them basically to suck an egg and that if they’d like. He’d give them all $100 if they could beat him in a duel, he even. They got trashed by cards they’d never seen before and combos they didn’t understand, him pulling out the rulebook and condescendingly explaining why they got their ass handed to them is truly one of my favourite memories of all time. He then called the school because, I mean they were literally beating the shit out of me (a half blind younger kid) over a fckin card game. Needless to say I forgave him and he told me to walk him through the duels, and he told me that I never even needed the card, because, in his opinion (highly esteemed it goes without saying) that I’d managed to create an incredible anti meta deck, and asked if he could use some concepts, I told him only if he showed up at school occasionally and messed with those kids (we both lived 2 blocks away, he was happy to pick me up from time to time) and what happened was he ended up teaching all of us how to think, not copy, and used my deck as an example. And showed his deck, which now had some of my ideas in it. Eventually they realised he was a tournament champion and I ended up somehow bonding and becoming friends with those guys, still to this very day in fact. Needless to say, this concept of outsmarting the meta by creating something that can’t be (planned) countered simply due to not being known as a thing, has a very dear place in my heart, but it seems… unlikely to even be possible these days. I hope you respond, because my family friend, who doesn’t play anymore due to the stale repetitive nature would be overjoyed if he saw that it was still possible, as would I. And yes I did give him the card back unharmed when I grew up and realised he only did it out of deep guilt and wanting to make a young boy feel special that he thought he may have permanently blinded, when really I had no right to such a precious artefact of his personal history, and he was in fact, just really shit at throwing things ahahaha

Awesome guide. One quick addition I don't think you mentioned. When accepting rewards from dailies, hold off on accepting the lower rewards (10, 20 gems) and continue to accept the higher rewards (30, 50 gems). The game adds dailies from a pool of 9 missions, and will not reassign ones that you have completed but not accepted the rewards for. By keeping the lower gem rewards out of this rotation, you will force dailies to give you the higher reward missions (30+50+50 per day) continuously. The first few days of the month you may not be able to claim any dailies (3 new per day and you need to clog up the worst 6), but after that it is optimal gem mining. Make sure to accept these 6 low gem rewards mission before the month/season ends. You can still accept login, watch live, and special mission rewards as you get the option since these do not affect the daily mission pool. Hopefully, this does not get patched out
And instead of getting patched out, it gets reworked entirely. All 10, 20, 30, and 50 rewards are gone and replaced with a consistent 40 across the board for all dailies
@@pokeperson1000 Konami gives, and Konami takes away. Tbh, not the worst "fix" that they could have done. Now you can still do it to keep missions you dislike out of rotation or just allow it to stack a little and get more than 3 in one day instead of having to play consistently every day for optimal gems. 50 gems for all missions would have been the ideal fix for players, but can't be too mad that they nerfed instead of removing the exploit.
I wish you could dismantle cards in structure decks. My biggest beef with the game. I appreciate them giving us a deck for those who don't want to build or cannot build a deck. But some genres you have no interest in are better off being dismantled so we can craft cards we actually will use. Since we can't, you have these SR/UR cards sitting around that we'll never use. ugh
What ticks me off is when you end up with more than a playset of any card in a structure deck but the game won’t let you dismantle the extras because you obtained them through a structure deck purchase
More tips: 1. Play through the solo mode. In the end a secret pack will be unlocked that houses the knightmare monsters, which are splashable in almost any extra deck and will always be useful. If you have URs you can get Access code Talker, a beast of a boss that links up well with the knightmares, and is a great game finisher. 2. Do research if you want to build more decks and determine how many gems and craft material it'll take. Some decks are more expensive than others.
Literally my first duel ever was against an Ultimate Falcon, and I am so goddamn proud that I managed to stall it out with my completely destruction immune Frightfur until I could get a strong enough monster to beat over it and then win.
@@AzureNova23 I just stalled with the one that's immune to destruction by card effects and battle until I had enough material to fuse the one that gets more attack based on how many materials it uses so I could beat over Ultimate Falcon. I chose the Synchro of Unity deck because it started me on a path to get Stardust Dragon. My favorite monster in the game, and thanks to my searching through the secret packs she my generation of cards I needed I essentially have Yusei's deck with every version of stardust dragon from the basic Stardust ask the way up to Shooting Quasar Dragon and Stardust Sifr Divine Dragon.
same here. I stopped playing during the 5ds era and the synchro structure deck was the most comfortable for me because i also played a stardust deck back then in tagforce5
When I first started playing I bought one of the structure decks Pend Magicians. I won a few then moved on to D/D. However i had to switch back after I reached Gold tier.
I would like to add that when choosing what card to craft to unlock your secret pack choose in this order a SR you need 3 of > an UR you need 3 of > a SR you need at least 2 of > a SR you need 2 of > any SR. Just to lower the chances of pulling unnecessary duplicates, you can turn them into crafting mats so the game is forgiving in that regard and rng is crazy so you migth end with 4UR and 1SR I was thinking priority should be UR but since UR mats are more scarce is better to use them when you need them rather than waste them when you don't of course it migth depend of the pack, since I don't know if all of them have the same amount of URs let's say if I'm building darklords I migth not wanna craft URs at all and instead craft ixchel, but when I build weather painters while building solfachord on the side, I could craft a coolia instead.
I’ve had loads of fun with my Red Dragon Archfiend deck. Even if I lose, I still had fun getting my plays in. The nice thing about this game is even losing rewards you with a little bit based on how you played in that duel. So you still gain by seeing the whole duel through. The only time you lose anything is at gold rank where you can lose rank.
I love Master Duel so much. I've built 4 halfway decent decks, and I'm constantly floating around Rank 3 Gold. Master Duel is definitely my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh! game to date. I hope we start seeing some anime related Solo missions in the future.
The first deck you choose does affect how early you'll get some staple cards, you'll get them all later through missions, but if you want MST early, you'll want to choose the one with MST in it
@@zeroanimation3956 the amount of urs is massive, unless you want to play mono hero then it's fine. Competitive hero requires around 800+urs pieces to built. Only built if you are ready to spend money.
I’ve made a total of 4 decks so far since I first started Master Duel. Started with my all time favourite archetype Infernities. Then Cyber Dragons, Red Dragon Archfiend, then the most recent was Dragonmaids
This video is one of the best tutorials for this game. you can't change my mind. I wanted to be treated like an idiot in this video, and i got what i wanted. Thank you for making this!
I've played the card game my entire life, just recently got into Master Duel. It's pretty awesome. I really love that you have the opportunity to craft cards you don't have.
Funny thing is everyone always recommends not going to the Master Pack at the beginning and it was the first thing I did. I was focused on building a Trickstars deck and I don't know how but I got lucky enough to get Trickstar Light Stage in my first pull and unlocked the secret pack. I'm now really happy with my deck better enough that I got the insane luck to be able to build it after just one pull on the Master Pack, but hope anyone else don't do that mistake.
I play a supreme king Z-arc deck, I used magician of pendulum as a template, and whenever I get odd-eyes vortex dragon out on the field they surrender. also I'm in gold tier 5

Going with a Cyber Dragon deck was a great tip, I always loved this archetype and by following your advice, I got myself silver in no time! It's 4am though and probably time for some shut eye.
I can't believe I install this game and then immediately see this video that was released like a day before I tried it - I've never played Yugioh before
This looks very cool and it's very surprising that Konami themselves are the ones that are bringing up a free to play game especially when it involves one of their iconic franchises. However, I suck in yugioh and with the current meta, I don't think I would be able to keep up but a very great Idiot guide!
I got into yugioh during the pandemic and used to watch all of his idiot guides now. I already know how to pla MD but im watching this as a token of how much I’ve learned and as a thank you for teaching me able to play those years ago
Been playing this game alot, did what you said way before this video came out and its such a good guide for an early start. Those bundles are godsends for crafting materials. I also made a Cyber Dragon deck cause its my favorite archetype took it into ranked and suprisingly won 9 out of 10 of my duels. I got really lucky i guess in comparison to your first duel lol
I built a Dragon Deck with some Spellcasters to supplement it My main cards are Blue eyes cards and Dark Magician/BMG to use Fusions with them I also use synchro summon with what I believe is the only Blue eyes Synchro monster I use 2 Link Monsters Striker Dragon is one of them
Konami, February: "People in Plat thought they'd be getting more rewards, and we're sorry." Konami, March: "We're sorry people in Plat thought they'd be getting more rewards."
Great guide. Made myself a Traptrix deck, though one UR card is missing (extra deck). 15 extra deck cards, most in UR was probably a bit much for a first choice.
Watching this video convinced me that this game just isn’t for me. The idea of having to “correctly” spend gems to play pretty much just one deck that is probably going to get crushed if it’s not meta just sounds so unappealing. So thank you for this video. It saved me a lot of time and frustration.
Awesome!!! I came from Duel Links and the dismantle and crafting option is a miracle! I hope Duel Links implements that (I know that’ll never happen). So anyway, I’ll give it a try to Master Duel now. Thanks a lot for the tips (I was about to waste gems 😂😂)
The solo modes were hard enough as they were and then when I started dueling rank, all I see are Blue-Eyes decks, Invoked Shaddoll Dogmatika, Cyber archetype and then a bunch of deck archetypes I have never seen before which the decks I have never seen before part I am glad to be beaten by since I get to learn how those work and I start devising ways to counter those. It's what makes this game enjoyable to me despite losing and getting demoted because I get first glimpse of the many card archetypes and decks there are. I started out with building a Gimmick Puppet deck for personal pleasure and even ran around with my Link starter deck. After that I started modifying the Demise Ruin deck I got in solo and then with the World Legacy cards I got in solo mode I converted my link starter deck into the World Legacy Deck. I have 15 decks I can work from with almost all of them came from doing solo mode with 5 out of the 15 I built were ones I had to go out of my way for. The Gimmick Puppet Deck was the first one, the next one was the Evil Heroes, then I built from scratch a deck I had built with the ElementSabers, the Three Gadgets and recently I started running the Inzektors which I haven't done very well with. My Antique Gear and Inzektor decks aren't fully complete yet and I will continue to improve on those. But right now I am also in my spare time getting cards to create a Mayakashi deck. I am fine with being undecisive with which decks I want to play since I want to try out archetypes I have never seen before or try ones I have seen before along with decks I have seen before but since that time was upgraded. I mean seeing how a lot of decks I see involve graveyard effects and the two times I have dealt with the Gravekeeper archetype gave me an idea so now I am also preparing to build a Gravekeeper deck. However, I have placed a severe restriction on myself. I refuse to play ace monsters used by Yu-gi-oh MCs so even if I get Red Dragon Archfiend deck or Stardust, my hands are off.
@@orangedino6398 bone tower? So like you mean with Skull Servants? Naw, I'll just roll with whatever I can get in terms of zombie monsters and supports
Been saving my points up for the past several months. Now in the 8000s range. Not going ape until it higher than that. Once that happens. Planning on building a few decks.
2 years late but the biggest tip to do well. Is your knowledge of your opponents decks and how to counter and hand trap them. Also where the choke points are.
Yugioh and by that extension MTG have one the hardest learning curves ever. The game has been literally evolving over 20 years and basic mechanics are thrown out the window. Thats why its extremely difficult for anyone new to jump in and even harder in physical format. I only played up to 5Ds and Synchros arent that hard to understand. But once you get into links, chaina, hand traps, and Pendulems ON TOP OF EACH OTHER. Games pretty much devolve into cheating out monsters and preventing your opponent from doing their summons turn 1. Its kinda easy to understand why Hearthstone exploded in popularity.
A piece of advice, always buy packs in groups of 10 as increases the chance of getting higher rarity cards, even for those legacy packs you win after every duel.
Note that I'm watching this as I comment. This guide is probably much needed for me. And apparently I knew all that... I mean I did make some of the mistakes listed there, but I like collecting cards too, so I'm fine with it. The staple cards were a good tip though and had some cards I was not aware of at all.
As someone who make a few alts to try out all of the waifu decks (as well as reroll for accs with high UR count). I have to say the Synchro starter deck is the best one to beat down the early solo fights for the tutorial gems. They have 4star with high stats, have effects that can stall till u draw what u need, and are less likely to brick than the other 2 decks.
I feel like YGO just isn't for casual players anymore, I don't want to have to build competitive decks just to play and have fun. I like building archetypes that are fun to play not just the strongest one.
I build a Gladiator Beast and I'm griding for both Heroes and Cipher and my rank experience was alright but I run into some cyber and meta decks already
I only owned some cards as a kid, didnt really know how to play . Any person that actually knows the game would look at my hodge podge of cards I like wirh abject horror but I love it.
Really love this game. Didn't get into it until it came to the Xbox. Kinda hate pendulum and snycro summons/how long people take. Red Eyes and Toon Decks come in handy

When I first started playing I bought one of the structure decks Pend Magicians. I won a few then moved on to D/D. However i had to switch back after I reached Gold tier.
I found that playing the solo modes does help a lot with learning and you get a lot of different cards. It’s really fun.
The first deck you choose does affect how early you'll get some staple cards, you'll get them all later through missions, but if you want MST early, you'll want to choose the one with MST in it
Do not build hero
@@r3zaful why?
@@zeroanimation3956 the amount of urs is massive, unless you want to play mono hero then it's fine.
Competitive hero requires around 800+urs pieces to built.
Only built if you are ready to spend money.
@@r3zaful oh you mean all types of Hero decks, if only focus on one it's not that expensive(I play masked hero)
@@r3zaful what about Endymion tho? that deck is packed with URs
Yupp got what I needed going for Ra.
I've played the card game my entire life, just recently got into Master Duel. It's pretty awesome. I really love that you have the opportunity to craft cards you don't have.
Thank you so much for such an informative guide, TGS Anime! Definitely comes in handy for long time veterans and newcomers alike!
Thank you so much! I tried Master Duel and I've been struggling since I've never really been the best at deck building XD
I really want the dual pass to be done over with always so I can buy it again and get more crafting stuff
I play a supreme king Z-arc deck, I used magician of pendulum as a template, and whenever I get odd-eyes vortex dragon out on the field they surrender.
also I'm in gold tier 5
i absolutely love that you called the types of orbs flavors...

I just want to thank you because I have been so confused on how to actually get into this game and how people are getting all these like super cool decks and I finally figured it out and I've just been making these really cool decks for a couple days now and I just wanted to thank you man
Thank you for this, this video is extremely helpful as someone who is returning from yugioh after pendulums.
I might give this game a go. I haven't really played since 5DS so I am worried but you're tips have been very helpful.
YuGiOh is my favourite game but I’ve never played this before.
I see what a fool I’ve been, I’ve got to try Master Dual!
Great video 👍
Love the production values of this game, and this guide is super informative.
Sadly I am a filthy casual who will likely never be able to make the most of this game.
Clear the solo mode, it's a huge step forward!
Lol relatable
I am so glad you made this video because I had no clue I could get specific cards for decks that way
Level of fun had: Zero.
Hope this was a good intro for how best to start Master Duel!

Master duel is a lot more f2p then duel links still love duel links tho
Why don’t you make a budget deck master duel video? Maybe do one per summoning method?
Cheapest good deck I know is dinomist, maybe do that?
New type of ghost girl divine banish one card face down great idea ?

Oh my god man! I think I did EVERYTHING you said not to do 😰 no wonder I was so lost and didn’t know what to do🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ I needed this dummies guide. Thanks man 😂
I hope there's gets added a casual game mode.
just one where I can play someone who's more focused on fun and likes longer duels and enjoys back and forth duels
Does it have a player vs computer matches?
It's a nice idea, but all you'll end up with is a bunch of meta players wanting to rack up easy wins by coming in and demolishing anyone playing for fun
casual mode wont fix anything people would still queue up on casual with meta decks.
duel rooms are a good way to play casual games if you can find other people to play with you
@@teofalleiro ok then
Then maybe a anti meta mode
You can't use popular decks that won a tournament or have a high usage in the latest world championship
I have never touched anything Yu-Gi-Oh related in my life. This is spectacularly helpful
i rarely sub to gaming youtubers but this guy made his video so crystal clear and good i just did it!
I've got to thank you for making this video. Now I'm a little glad I procrastinated starting the game. Thanks to this video I can make some more informed, and cost affective, choices. I also now know about other tips like secret packs. Thanks again again for the info👍.
💛✌
Going with a Cyber Dragon deck was a great tip, I always loved this archetype and by following your advice, I got myself silver in no time! It's 4am though and probably time for some shut eye.
But silber isnt hard anyway.
@@chiefmatewg7711 that's something I discovered too, but it's fun to play imo and still competitive enough to carry you to platinum with a few tweaks
They're counting on people spending their gems on less useful things and having to spend money for more.
I like dragonmaids and the virtual world deck. Those seem to be working out for me. I love that master duel has reignited my love for thisr game.
Note don't duel a player that has Japanese lettering or any eastern writing you will loose 100% of the time i know
I didn't have Yu-Gi-Oh growing up, so this video is extremely useful!
I love the art of the mana dragon you use in some of the lightsworn missions, can someone tell me the archetype name?
Thanks for the tips! I played a few games and I have no clue on how to start.
Thank you so much I haven’t found a good video on crafting. I can finally make the deck I want!
Thank you for the informative tutorial. As a Duel Links player I'm shocked these features are Insane.
"Nibiru the primal being?" Shit like this is why I love yu gi oh
I got into yugioh during the pandemic and used to watch all of his idiot guides now. I already know how to pla MD but im watching this as a token of how much I’ve learned and as a thank you for teaching me able to play those years ago
I'm loving the game so far. I'm running odd eyes and gotten quite a few wins with it. Great video
I built a Dragon Deck with some Spellcasters to supplement it
My main cards are
Blue eyes cards and Dark Magician/BMG to use Fusions with them
I also use synchro summon with what I believe is the only Blue eyes Synchro monster
I use 2 Link Monsters
Striker Dragon is one of them

Great guide. Made myself a Traptrix deck, though one UR card is missing (extra deck). 15 extra deck cards, most in UR was probably a bit much for a first choice.
Just discovered MasterDuel recently! Great video.

Totally amazing video of master duel and how to learn to play, build deck everything about the game too.fantastic job
i returned to yugioh because i heard my favourite archtype the lightsworn is in it i didnt hesitate and downloaded the game and now im hooked
Getting into this game I found your channel and have been hooked
I made/use a rouge Harpie deck stuck at plat 4 so I’m tinkering with it to be competitive
Super helpful video and dumbed down for us Yu-Gi-Oh returners who thought we’d be making Dark Magician decks 😂😂😂
This was incredibly helpful, thank you!
If they added a generation lock the game would be fantastic.
i dont know what that means but it sounds like overpowered card decks cant play against too much weaker card decks, so i agree
Hi! Just found the channel I think we dueled once before. Just wanted to say hi, and thank for the duel!
i have no idea why i watched this. master duel got me back into Yu-Gi-Oh and i watched your content years ago when i was super big into Yu-Gi-Oh 😂😂
I needed this video so bad thank you I couldn’t understand the crafting and how to get the cards and it’s so obvious now
The solo modes were hard enough as they were and then when I started dueling rank, all I see are Blue-Eyes decks, Invoked Shaddoll Dogmatika, Cyber archetype and then a bunch of deck archetypes I have never seen before which the decks I have never seen before part I am glad to be beaten by since I get to learn how those work and I start devising ways to counter those.
Mayakashi Bone Tower is a fun time. The generic Zombie support being expensive makes it a bit tough to invest in tho.
@@orangedino6398 bone tower? So like you mean with Skull Servants? Naw, I'll just roll with whatever I can get in terms of zombie monsters and supports
thank you fore the guide, I will start my yugioh journey from now on
Been saving my points up for the past several months. Now in the 8000s range. Not going ape until it higher than that. Once that happens. Planning on building a few decks.
this was super super helpful! thank you, having fun with my blackwings deck even if im losing quite a bit haha (makes the wins that much cooler)
I personally have fun with Spellcasters and Fiends which is basically the Yugi Build. Probably will go for that first.
Loved this video! Keep up your excellent work
2 years late but the biggest tip to do well.
One new deck every month sounds good. Really nice advise
My all time favorite yugioh is the Gx and 5D but the original yugioh is like my childhood introductory to the series.
A piece of advice, always buy packs in groups of 10 as increases the chance of getting higher rarity cards, even for those legacy packs you win after every duel.
The best performing decks Imma have to take a look at that
Note that I'm watching this as I comment.
This guide is probably much needed for me.
And apparently I knew all that... I mean I did make some of the mistakes listed there, but I like collecting cards too, so I'm fine with it.
The staple cards were a good tip though and had some cards I was not aware of at all.
Thanks for this very helpful video!
Hope for more new players to join in.
13:10 You literally missed a chance to say "It's time to duallllllllllllll"
I was hoping for an archetype trivia video before lent starts
Such a useful video, thanks a million! 🤩
Currently running skull servant and dark magician having a blast
YT randomly recommending this one today, kinda wild to think it's already been 9 months
6:45 "if you have fun by winning" bro what is this game i decided to get into 😭
As someone who make a few alts to try out all of the waifu decks (as well as reroll for accs with high UR count).
Yugioh hasn't been for regular people in a long long time. Thats why it's losing fans massively by the day. It will be dead by the end of the decade.
I build a Gladiator Beast and I'm griding for both Heroes and Cipher and my rank experience was alright but I run into some cyber and meta decks already
I only owned some cards as a kid, didnt really know how to play . That being said i was hooked the moment i played, even tho this is really the 1st tcg ive ever really played and ive also gotten 3 friends like me who are basically virging in tcg and we are all hooked !!! Looking forward to dueling and having fun on master duel !!
Im completely new to yugioh as an alternative to magic which my friend got me into and i just want to say i spent a ton of gems on the customization options and couldn't be happier! Anyways, on with the rest of the video
I just kept the Power of the Dragons deck that I modified the fuck outta and added stronger dragons to it. It's become pretty versatile. I've also spliced it with a Chaos deck and a Blue-Eyes deck. Any person that actually knows the game would look at my hodge podge of cards I like wirh abject horror but I love it.
Really love this game. Didn't get into it until it came to the Xbox. Kinda hate pendulum and snycro summons/how long people take.
