My favorite detail was the fact that you could always see the love in his eyes from the moment the cameras started rolling. There was never a moment where love left him. You can really tell how much he loves her and will treasure her.💚
While it might seem kind of opulent to own an island you need to remember that Finland has 185 000 islands. Where this wedding was held was Turku archipelago, that has the most islands of any archipelago in the world. You can see from google maps how crazy the area looks. It was formed by the last ice age.

For anyone wondering why the ceremony was in Swedish and English, while this island is a part of Finland, the main language spoken there is Swedish 🇫🇮🇸🇪
I'm finnish and about 5.3% of the finnish population are finnish swedes which means that they mainly speak swedish but they live in finland. The part of finland they went to (Åland) is mainly finnish swedes so that's why they spoke swedish :)
Our mothertounge is Swedish. If you come here everything will be in Swedish, information, signs, education etc. We can learn Finnish in school but many don't really speak it anyway, we're better in English 😊

I also had a bilingual wedding in Finland, so it can be done. The hardest part was to get those of our family and friends who live in far away places here, but arranging the wedding itself wasn't that complicated.
"I come from a family of farmers" "I come from a family of fishers" Complete opposite. Most of us: none of those. Technically speaking, those both are a primary industry so
First of all the couples gorgeous! Love all the traditions they incorporated! Wish them all the happiness..! Nothing like having your best friend to share your life with. ❤️
This is beautiful. I love the two cultures, and traditions mixed. How they chose to represent the two especially with the hanging boat in the church is really interesting. There should be more weddings like this, and less uncultured, or generic type weddings. It's nice to see this.💖
This is such a fantastic video to find? I am literally half swedish-speaking finn and half Australian and I've never related so much to a blend of cultures. So brilliant.
Wow, this was such a beautiful, authentic looking wedding. But i'm going to guess pretty expensive, with how many their guests were and how they needed to travel back and forth, amenities, etc. I want some kind of destination wedding as well, but being from a big family where culture dictates that you invite a lot of them, it's going to be hella expensive lmao
Happy to see they pulled it off. I am from Argentina, my boyfriend is Danish, and we live in Sweden, and whenever we bring up marriage we get so overwhelmed with all the preparation it would entail, we just agree to elope. Or do one wedding in Denmark and another in Argentina. So much work!
This wedding took place in Åland, which is an archipelago province in Finland. In Åland, just about everyone speaks Swedish as their mother tongue. The culture is quite different from mainland Finland. In general, about 5.3% of Finns speak Swedish instead of Finnish as their mother tongue. Swedish is also our second official language alongside Finnish.
The island Kyrkogårdsö (where they are getting married) is not owned by his family (it's basically only his family who lives there tho, about 10 people actually.) it actually belongs to a bigger island called Kökar. The Åland Islands is an autonomous part of Finland with many islands and skerries (there's over 6700) and many of them are actually privately owned, for example my boyfriends family does own have a small island, no where near as big as Kyrkogårdsö tho :)

So I need to find a man who looks at me the way Victor looks at his fiancee and a family island will be a nice bonus as well lol 😂😭
Every pot has its lid. This is what me friend told me, whose grandmother told her 😊

It's so cool to see two cultures blend together, but also very difficult to organize such a ceremony
I also had a bilingual wedding in Finland, so it can be done. The hardest part was to get those of our family and friends who live in far away places here, but arranging the wedding itself wasn't that complicated.
Many countries have different ways to get married but this Woooowwww
