Another great video. Only thing I would add is regarding the CO2 cartridges. It is true that the TCP's magazine is a bit more fiddly to use when under high stress, but there is a reward for this extra effort - for each fresh mag, you get full power from a fresh cartridge. So if you invest in an extra mag and are willing to practice reloading enough, potentially you could have 3 mags of 6x VXR / HP68 rounds ready to go at 330fps. That's premium quality that the others can't offer. The Byrna is still the quickest and easiest though, for sure. Like you say, it comes down to individual preference.
Amen, I concur eith your statement, I carry a byrna for first draw, then have a secondary pepperball tcp, if I perceive a threat then will do the final twist on the tcp and also the spare mag, as these launchers dont need two hands, byrna in one hand pointed, other hand piercing the tcp ready to deploy from a holster. I have an expensive rigid gunbelt and always carry two launchers on me with 4 extra mags(1 mag already in each launcher x2 =6 Mags in total. )Plus with pepperball you can have 6 plus one in the chamber = 7 rounds ready to deploy from tcp. 5 pepperballs ready in the byrna. The tcp would only have solids. Byrna for pepperball powder and tcp for solid rounds...that is a good combo. Thanks Folks ...stay lesslethal and vigilant.
I’m stunned how powerful the TCP is. Yes, I’ve cranked my 2 TCPs up, and they kick. I blew a clean hole through my double sided vinyl fence from 15ft away with an inert ball this afternoon. It wasn’t intentional, but very impressive. So much for watching the plume spread hahahaha
I find that the Byrna wins out for one simple reason- regardless of whether you're using pepper ball / kinetic rounds for home defense or typical personal self-defense use- its ideal to have it on your person vs. stashed somewhere in the house or elsewhere because of the fact that you might find yourself in a situation where you can't retrieve it because your target is between you and it for whatever reason. The TPR is just too big and bulky for defensive purposes and the TCP is simply such an odd ball that its difficult to accommodate. The Byrna on the other hand will easily fit universal holsters in a multitude of styles (standard belt holsters, paddle holsters, and drop leg / thigh holsters being the most common) and also has several very professional law enforcement styles holsters that are model specific. The Byrna is also the size of a compact 9mm pistol so it's very much like carrying a 9mm handgun in comparison to the other two. The major flaw with the Byrna is its inconsistency but remember it's less lethal and it's not intended or designed to replace deadly force- ergo the drawback is only relatively minor and probably doesn't mean anything in real-world scenarios off a paintball field or the range. Overall, I find the Byrna solves the most problems in comparison with the other two. Optimally, I'd like to see a .68 paintball/pepperball in the style of the Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm similar to the T4E series (which is in a smaller caliber)- but it has yet to happen.
Nice summary. Well said. TCP works for me because of power and options. Unless shooting with one hand is your thing, charging the CO2 can be done with the off hand while getting on target. You are right, practice, practice though.

Tried the Pepper Ball TCP and the CO2 cartridge has to be engaged when its loaded and the gas will leak out over a couple of hours. Have to find a new hand fired system now. The Pepper Ball rifles (that look like an m-4) work great with a top loading bin, but don't recommend the magazine fed feature on the rifle. I will be trying the Byrna and Mission TPR to see if either is better for our needs.
A lot of people don't get the the HD Bryna is not to stand your ground but to give you time to run a way and discourage the attacker. This is because most attackers want to do things quickly or not at all as they want easy prey
I wish the byrna was better because I love the size and how the safety works to break the seal. I like the tcp because of the mag fed co2 and it's performance, but don't like how fat it is, or how you have to screw in the base to break the seal. Wish I could get best of both worlds.

You mention that one can not use VXR/First Strike (bullet like) ammo in the TCP mags. I don´t know if the TCP mags are different from the First Strike ones (same as TCP but sold as paintball guns) but I can shoot VXR/First Strike and roundball ammo with the First Strike ones. A spring change is recommended though, the VXR/First Strike ammo needs a stronger (red marked) magazine spring. Perhaps one could also consider the Frist Strike Compact gun instead of the Pepperball TCP pricewise? Same gun, different color. In that case, I would also recommend changing a few o-rings for stronger ones. At the Grimburgs site the sell those o-rings and they are quite easy to change out, there are video manuals out there. Down sides? Fiddely magazines in stressful/fast situations, they have to work out something that one just hit with a palm to puncture the Co2 bulb. Up sides? POWER!!!!!! Be extremely careful, this is a really strong Co2 gun. It can be adjusted to ridiculous levels. Also the fact that when one reloads a new mag in, one also has a fresh Co2 bulb in because the bulb is in the magazine. I adjusted my First Strike Compact so that 1 Co2 bulb would be enough to one(ish) magazines worth of ammo. Higher than that is fun but it gets finicky and unreliable.
@@dudelesslethal6910 Oh, I see!!! I stand corrected!!! Due to legal restrictions I don´t use pepperfilled shots. Only First Strike or Grimburg ones and those work well. Great video!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Thanks for your videos. I have the Byrna HD and I had it for 2.5 months now and I've never used at all, its still new in the case. Now, l wish I had got the Mission TPR and I was torn between the two before I purchased the Byrna and the main reason for getting it was the size being compact and the look of a 9 mm and the assorted colors that they come in. It does feel fic*&king good in my hand. Smooth as hell. But now I'm getting the Mission TPR and I'm not a fan of that bright orange color, but I could get used to it. I was thinking about selling it at a pawn shop, but now I could use it for my vehicle or storage unit.
My question, once the CO2 canister is punctured for use, how long is it good for? I live in the Commie State of MD where self protection is looked down upon. Reason I am looking at one of these.
What if you loaded up the TCP, twisted it, got it ready but left it loaded and ready to go in that condition? Will it stay pressurized a long time or will the co2 slowly leak out? I realize doing a reload will require twisting the bottom of the mag again, but one could load it, twist it, then keep it ready to go right?
For Home defense without swapping gas: Would you recommend (1) 12rd mag in TPR, or (2) 7rd mags having to reload launcher? Second option would be the (2) 8rd mags in TCP and having to twist the gas to release it after reload?
Have you used the Gimburg JUL rounds in the Byrna HD? I am interested in the Byrna for the reason that it doesn’t puncture the co2 till the first shot, but, I’m in California and the kinetic balls Byrna offers ain’t gonna cut it for self protection.
Thanks again. Wondering what your thoughts are on first strike FSC vs the TCP. I know the barrels are different but in terms of power can the achieve the same? Most concerned with that for home defense since I am in CA and would need to use just solid projectiles. Thanks!
Fsc makes way more power due to the fact you can run asa adapter on back to have HPA tank for crazy velocity and more shots example grimburg.me/product/grimburg-aurora/
@@dudelesslethal6910 thank you! So what if I didn’t want an external tank and just wanted to use the 8oz or 12 oz. (in the extended mag) would the power still be the same and adjustable for both? Also, how fast can it get with say a 3g projectile while still being dependable?
@@mihouser they are both made by same company United tactical. Which ever you can get your hands on cheapest cost go for it. Both will produce same power give or take based on temperature and barrel size and bore. I personal would upgrade to Grimburg Less Lethal barrel and run Jul rounds.
@@dudelesslethal6910 also, which Grimburg barrel are you referring too? One with rifling or no? I assume the smooth one since you are talking about running JUL through it? Thank you again!
Byrna : for how long CO2 still effective after installation? I don’t want to get in trouble when you need to use gun for self defense and CO2 run out because of time.
Byrna say 4 magazines, but the most i would do is 3 which is 15rd. The fps declines significantly after 2 magazines 10rd. Doesn’t puncture co2 until you the pull trigger
I carry the Byrna daily at work because:--1 First strike capability 2 Size wise---- Other ones I would use would be are the Umarex T4E but frankly those are too realistic to carry and also non first strike capable---meaning that you have to punch the air before use
No I haven’t. The only FSC Carbine is Grimburg Carbine and Aurora version. First strike was supposes to release carbine paintball marker but pulled the plug for now.
I’m new to this and have learned a lot from your channel. I hav the mission tpr and ran out of practice rounds and while I wait for more rounds that I ordered I was wondering if regular paintballs which I can get from my local DICK’S sporting goods would work
Yes long as they .68 caliber but they will break due to higher velocity. I wouldn’t use paintball because if 1 breaks its messy and you would need to clean the launcher really good.
If the bore fits you can acquit (fire, but it didn't rhyme). It's mostly by trial and error. Not all 0.68 projectiles fit the TCP 0.686 barrel for example.
Is there a beginner video for novices to show wgat to do from when you receive the package to how to load and shoot each one, how to reload, clean and store each weapon.
I think the tipx no doubt it has the upgraded clips, and kit affordable you can shoot roitballs, pepperballs, paintball, first strike which will give you more options as far as velocity and distance ,plus the tipx has a adapter to connect air or co2,
@@lbzz4000 Those are launchers not projectiles. I'm well aware of the different launcher systems they are over reviewed. It's the many different projectiles from each company that are lacking in reviews and comparisons. Despite each have differences in mass, density, and amount of active chemicals that will change their effectiveness in use. V
Hey dude I have a question, can you safely dry fire the Byrna? Thanks for all the Byrna HD content. Loving it. Got myself one and super happy. The only less lethal pepper ball pistol you can conceal carry and that looks good!
Very impossible? That sounds hard to do. Size matters and with these things, the smaller the better because if it's not with you, it can't help you. The Byrna hits hard, it hurts and so does it's Max Pepper rounds. You get at least 3 mags worth of power on one CO2 and that's plenty because it's hard to carry more than 2 extra mags and the first 5 rounds should drive off anyone if you are hitting them properly.
I bought a cheap ebay chronograph its broken now im going to get another but it showed me a couple readings of 50 fps before it conked out completely my gun is the tipx it seems to shoot well drives jul rounds deep into wood and drywall could a gun possibly be that low im still working on trying to figure out where I want to be on the max settings and all
I really liked my TCP...looks cool, super accurate, hits hard. Was breaking beer bottles at 30 ft with pepperball. The problem?. ..dumb mags...constantly breaking pepperball in the mag. I moved on to Byrna SD...problem solved.
I upgraded my Byrna by installing their adapter to use 12 gram CO2 and purchased an adapter insert from shpws.me/SKVQ so I can still use my 8gm bottle cartridges. This non-lethal deterrent is great for multi-day sailing trips.

@@dudelesslethal6910 awesome. Thanks a ton! Really appreciate it.
@@dudelesslethal6910 also, which Grimburg barrel are you referring too? One with rifling or no? I assume the smooth one since you are talking about running JUL through it? Thank you again!
Huge wait times, bad ammo and the WORST customer service. These are only a few problems with Byrna.
I think the mission tpr cause of that velocity. Have u tried it with paintballs?
Byrna : for how long CO2 still effective after installation? I don’t want to get in trouble when you need to use gun for self defense and CO2 run out because of time.
Byrna say 4 magazines, but the most i would do is 3 which is 15rd. The fps declines significantly after 2 magazines 10rd. Doesn’t puncture co2 until you the pull trigger
I carry the Byrna daily at work because:--1 First strike capability 2 Size wise----
Other ones I would use would be are the Umarex T4E but frankly those are too realistic to carry and also non first strike capable---meaning that you have to punch the air before use
T4e is Garbo..its 50 caliber doesn't do as much damage as. A 68 cal and doesn't begin to get enough power either
thanks for vid, I now have an easier pick.......
I'm new to your channel. Have you tested a fsc. Fsc carbine
@@dudelesslethal6910 That’s what I was afraid of and since there’s no simple way to adjust the velocity I’ll probably wait. Thanks!
what about the projectiles? ARE THEY PROPRITORY ARE CAN YOU USE EBAY OR AMAZON BRANDS?
If the bore fits you can acquit (fire, but it didn't rhyme). It's mostly by trial and error. Not all 0.68 projectiles fit the TCP 0.686 barrel for example.
Is there a beginner video for novices to show wgat to do from when you receive the package to how to load and shoot each one, how to reload, clean and store each weapon.
Do you happen to have a video on the best projectiles? Or the difference in each company's projectiles?
I think the tipx no doubt it has the upgraded clips, and kit affordable you can shoot roitballs, pepperballs, paintball, first strike which will give you more options as far as velocity and distance ,plus the tipx has a adapter to connect air or co2,
@@lbzz4000 Those are launchers not projectiles. I'm well aware of the different launcher systems they are over reviewed. It's the many different projectiles from each company that are lacking in reviews and comparisons. Despite each have differences in mass, density, and amount of active chemicals that will change their effectiveness in use. V
What is the diameter of PepperBall live x
Byrna just purchased Mission Less Than Lethal! Good or bad?
Hey dude I have a question, can you safely dry fire the Byrna?
Thanks for all the Byrna HD content. Loving it. Got myself one and super happy. The only less lethal pepper ball pistol you can conceal carry and that looks good!
Very impossible? That sounds hard to do.
Size matters and with these things, the smaller the better because if it's not with you,
it can't help you. The Byrna hits hard, it hurts and so does it's Max Pepper rounds.
You get at least 3 mags worth of power on one CO2 and that's plenty because it's hard to carry more than 2 extra mags and the first 5 rounds should drive off anyone if you are hitting them properly.
Will an old light mini light / laser combo fit in a kydex holster from grindberg or will it only hold the C5
Only C5L
I bought a cheap ebay chronograph its broken now im going to get another but it showed me a couple readings of 50 fps before it conked out completely my gun is the tipx it seems to shoot well drives jul rounds deep into wood and drywall could a gun possibly be that low im still working on trying to figure out where I want to be on the max settings and all
I have www.ansgear.com/X_Radar_Deluxe_Handheld_Chronograph_p/xradarchrono.htm
@@dudelesslethal6910 i understand I spent money on this one already but im asking do u think gun could actually be that low?
@@bigginokid if its going into wood the chronograph is faulty reading. Takes alot of power to go into wood
do you have a pic of the next small tpr
Not yet hopefully soon
@@dudelesslethal6910 thats gonna be so 🔥 dope!!! I don't care how much it is I'm getting 2 of them
Is there a link where this is discussed? Any idea on a date?
Byrna pepper balls
I really liked my TCP...looks cool, super accurate, hits hard. Was breaking beer bottles at 30 ft with pepperball. The problem?. ..dumb mags...constantly breaking pepperball in the mag. I moved on to Byrna SD...problem solved.
Guy: This is just a review, all these guns are good.
Also the guy: the Byrna sucks
Does the mission only come in orange?
Black on black but only authorized dealers
@@dudelesslethal6910 yea I seen the tippmann tipx. Looks exactly the same and functions the same just black on black. But idk if the juls is less
@@Theyknowmoe same gun..i have it
@@bigginokid tryna let me buy it from you?
@@bigginokid can't find em anywhere they all sold out
I upgraded my Byrna by installing their adapter to use 12 gram CO2 and purchased an adapter insert from shpws.me/SKVQ so I can still use my 8gm bottle cartridges.
This non-lethal deterrent is great for multi-day sailing trips.
Watched unto the poor trigger control. KEEP HOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER. It doesn’t matter it pepper or not. Shame shame
Are you crying in the beginning of this video?
Stop talking too much and get with it!!!
Wiil tcp shoot byrna amo
I didn't find this biased at all. I'm good at spotting an ad, these are good videos they aren't ads.
