100 days sober tomorrow. I'm keeping the blaze alive, Mac! Rock and Roll🤙
Keep it rolling!!!
Report back at 150!
@@michael7v6 You have my word!🤙
Oh great job!!
Fantastic! You will beat this.
Water may have a shelf life but you can always boil it or treat it and recover it. Store as much water and food as you can and when you think you have too much then you need more. Beans, Bullets, Band-Aids (Band-Aids includes extra meds and prescriptions) as well as tools to sort out fires like extinguishers and fire blankets. These are a great start to being not prepared but self sufficient as when the balloon goes up or the weather comes down YOU are your own first responder and you better be ready. We make it a game here. If the hydro flickers my son jumps up and grabs the flashlight of his choice and then checks on Grandma to make sure she has hers ready. Teaching them to look out for others. It is a lifestyle and I am all for it
Well boiling water get rid of the plastic leeching into the water?
Great parenting!
@@robertmurdoch1 Thank you. I feel it is an important life lesson. This generation is too dependent on "the system" to survive sadly
@@boejiden1942 not sure on the boiling but I always run it through a Berky water filtration system after so I am sure it is pure
@@boejiden1942if plastic leaching is the only thing you're worried about you are doing very well. Lol
One of the reason's I've gotten our family into backpacking is it naturally prepares you to survive without power. A good tent and sleep system can make almost any uncomfortable situation temporarily enjoyable. :)
Don't forget the hot water tank. Ready 40 or 80 gal of good water. Just shut off the incoming line.
Cans of Sterno are super useful for the people who live in apartments especially
Pat Mac. You are a beast. Thank you
I've immensed a lot of preps. I've really got to organize everything. I have a big property probably 6 buildings. I know a lot about surviving comfortably. But my organization comes slowly. Like to figure out the best place to keep things or a thing. I have experience but like listening to talks for newbs because I learn something basic I didn't already know. I'm getting ready to hunker down in November.
A five gallon jug of gas and a generator will run your fridge , a portable AC and light for 2 days 3 days if you only run the AC when you sleep. A good generator will save your ass during a power outage.
Buy extra canned food when you do grocery runs, bit by bit. it adds up quickly.
Blessings on you and Becca, thank you Pat ❤
Installed a wood burning fireplace insert last year. Huge difference. Initially pricey, but worth it.
Wood burning stove, fire pit and cast iron cook wear. All a must for storm survival. Even where I am at in Southern Georgia.
Great video Pat!
An idea, when you get your woodstove installed attach some metal pipes to the top with metal strapping or various other methods. Then use the rechargeable fan to blow air thru pipes to circulate your warm, toasty air throughout the house.
I also cook on my woodstove!
Awesome Vid! Sleeping Bags in cold Climates, bug spray, nets in warm climes! Good Rugged Footgear, footcare items!
Love your show pat mac I agree with your views all people should wake up and be ready , not just prepared .Love ya man hope you are well God bless
Have a small butane or propane Coleman stove for alternate cooking source
Better yer: Learn how to make cat stoves out of 1 oz. Cat food cans. Can run on alcohol, gasoline, etc. Had no problem coming up with fuel while in Libya in 2011.
Rocket stoves 🔥
I appreciate the realistic approach, thanks guys!👍
Need a series about gardening from start to finish. Thanks
Wood burning stove is a must have , can heat , cook food on the top , heat water , humidify the air , dry your clothes. The gift thar keeps on giving.
Awesome Talk. You can never have enough info. Peace.
Mini wood gasifier for powering your genetator. Also glow sticks in the bag above each door
AH.. The frozen water aspect is a good one.
Appreciate the information for those who live in the suburbs, or apartments and want to be prepared but don't have the ability to have a generator or go hunt and store 6 months of food. Thank you for the practical advice 🙏
Need more of this! Thanks
I'm pretty squared away on this stuff. I'm not a beginner by any means, but I learned some really valuable info here. Thanks, fellas.
Thanks for the talk. I’ve been thinking about a lot of this stuff for a while and started squirreling away stuff a few years ago. Then it starts getting a bit more real. Being prepared not paranoid is the key with all this information being hurled at us. I want to know my kids will be well without them worrying. We try to make games out of survival. I hope I can get them ready for life.
Pat we appreciate everything you have to say. Always a pleasure hearing you put out the Truth
Good info!
I would love a series on canning and preserving food. Keep up the great work
Alaska Prepper has great cooking and canning videos, I think you will need to go back at least a year.
I am fascinated with preppers. I'm a newbie 👋 so willing and ready to learn. I dont want to get caught with my pants down either. I got started on Saturday, spend $250, started with extra food, paper products, and dog supplies. I live in the city, so i'll be city prepping. And planning a way out of here, getting me some paper maps next. I'm open to every bit you can teach me
Great content. Made me think of many ways to improve.
Great information, thank you sir
NW Montana. We got a few acres of scotch pine and a wood stove - it’s mandatory for Winters here, since our power tends to go out during storms.
People are talking about sourdoughs and chickens and your out there with a forest to supply fuel for the winters. Take it from a South African in the regional part of the country - you dont get much more prepared than that.
Good video. Good food for thought.
If possible, keep enough fuel on hand to fill your vehicle from empty to full at least once. Also, know the range of your vehicle if you do have to bug out. Make sure it's stored in something that can be transported. You're not putting a 55 gallon drum in the back of your Ford taurus.
Good to see ya, bub!
Good on ya Pat!
Right after 9/11 I got serious about having "extras" around the house. Food, water, fuel etc. Then as the years went on it became more of "what if" or in just in case,. So everything was expanded.. had a larger food store, larger water.. once it becomes a lifestyle it's not hard. Just a small change in the mindset. Great video guys, keep up the great work.
When I was growing up in the south with well water, we would always fill up the bathtub at night if there was going to be a thunderstorm. Gives you a good amount of water for flushing and drinking if you had to.
Literal Internet Commando here commenting @ 2:28.
I was in a Tornado. I was watching Braddock Missing in Action 3 at approx 6 pm. The sky was green and yellow and sunny. All the sudden....it sounded like 68 AKMs with M43 ball smackin' the trees and a concrete wall.
It was the sound of Hardwood trees snapping.
At this point....I knew that I had to run outside with my friends for kicks and observation.
Shingles were flying past my head at 60 mph+.
My mom came outside and said "Get INSIDE NOOOWW"..
We then went inside and into the basement. My sister was crying because she is a baby.
The end. Oh yeah it was 1996 and I was 11. AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!!!!
For everyone on a budget, buy 1or 2 extra cans of things you eat every week and in no time youll have a week of food.
Nice. this gives you lots to think about. Wood Stoves are awesome. Thanks
Your food rehydration water doesn't count as drinking water. You'll need enough for both. Take how much you'll need to rehydrate that food in mind.
My tap water is technically drinkable but does not taste good. I keep tanks of filtered water for drinking and cooking, and a tank or two of unfiltered water for washing hands, etc.
not a keyboard 'expert'! here. Thanks for the video. I was on the NC EMRT group since its inception at Hurricane Floyd. Boy did I learn a great deal from the many callouts. Being boots on the ground for this disaster and subsequent disasters woke my up . Really Appreciate the video. Perfect.
One obvious thing is to game plan the most obvious disasters your area is susceptible to. Then plan accordingly. Planning for every disaster under the sun is a recipe for frustration.
I buy oj in plastic bottles which work great to store water, pasta, beans, rice, legumes etc. Those plus oxygen absorbers.🤘
also make sure that you have salt, some vitamins and supplements because those ready pouches are mostly carbs. If you can, make some beef jerky for protein 🤗
Grew up in Jamaica without AC slept inside concrete house windows open there were times without an electric fan.
A few years ago met a young guy at the range while we were all talking about the internal electric grid problem. None of us had any experience or personnel knowledge. This young guy introduced himself and started laughing with us not at us. He then educated us briefly how F"D up the power grid is and went on to give us examples of how insanely fragile at least the Whole east coast is.
Ok, Fed.
I agree, and besides its a cool hobby. And I don't have to check with my wife first! She really enjoys this.

Thanks Pat, I’m in Canada, I appreciate your common sense, it doesn’t sound so overwhelming when you lay it out the way you do, something to be said about the K.I.S.S. rule…
Everything He said, Ive done. I heat part time with wood. My only concern is defending. I have very special skills, but if it's real bad 24 7 security. Night vision and Thermal a must. Basic survival Dude Stuff!!!!
Luxury of living in the mnts.
Beer? That was a way for the old timers to purify water in the Middle Ages. I make ginger beer about 20 gallons a year. Also fermented lemon lime soda. Just a nice, natural refreshing drink. Even though they are naturally fermented, they are low in alcohol. If you are a booze hound, find something else to satisfy your alcohol needs.
One day humans learned how to make cheese and they could now preserve milk for later use. Cows produce 5 - 7 gallons of milk a day, 365 days a year. So, preserving milk was an important discovery.
Preparing... planning. There's a difference. You can't prepare, until you've planned. Sadly, most people miss that fact. They're walking into a shitshow with a woodstove, pantry, and a checklist thinking they're ready. It's not the plan that holds the value, but the act of planning. Collecting intelligence, exploring what-ifs, developing contingencies, etc. It gives you confidence and tells you how to prepare.
Ok so this is basic, but here in Texas it snowed a few years back. We knew it was coming. People cleaned out foot and bottled water first. There were people in the isles deciding whether or not to buy the last of the alkaline water bottles. I walked straight to the full rack of 5 gallon water bottles and grabbed two. I had 4 at home already. I keep 30 galllnd of water on hand at all times.
If you plan on removing the insert fir the fireplace, make sure you have a actual chimney.
Pat Mac the mfkn man
Hey fellas, sincerely appreciate the content & all the work it takes to rollout. My question is: my son's enthralled with ecology & hopes to begin a career w/ US Forestry Service, so what's a good app/site similar to the old school Audubon? Thanks in advance 🤘
Stay free 🇺🇸 God bless 🇺🇸
Pat... is solid.. minimal is best..
I would like to know about these cooling fans you talked about.
The problem as I see it ,is that” professional preppers” want a shtf scenario to prove that all their money they spent is justified and that they were right, but they don’t comprehend that would suck, no different than the guys who want a civil war. One is enough. That being said you should at all times be prepared to be your own first responder, have backups , for power, water and food and be able to save and defend yourself, your family and your neighbours. A modern renaissance man or woman. Knowledge and skills are a commodity.
BASIC DUDE STUFF!!!

I mean how did we the USA even get to this point?
26:11 this system is going down the way it looks!
What about using EcoFlow? It incorporates Solar Panels.
I watched it 35 seconds in and have to share my 2 cents. That is all
Hey what radio do recommend when the grid goes down and you live in the city.
Great common sense video guys because lord knows common sense isn't to common these days !!
Yam greens grow easily indoors and make lots of leaves. Just plant a yam in a flowerpot and put it near some light. I got mine near the window. I use them in smoothies. Can't chew whole leaves as teeth are shot. White sweet potatoes also grow indoors, but slower and they cook better than eaten raw.
PatMac. Do you have C&C poster behind you?
Mags loaded...basic, but often overlooked.
great way to store your ammo too

one thing about wood stoves for heating....ask yourself this....have you ever processed firewood...did you have a chainsaw? a tractor or something to haul that wood?...you do? cool now go do it WITHOUT those tools
that alone is going to take a LOT of people out
This is gonna sound like the nerdiest thing in the world to say. But an Nintendo switch with enough paddles For the whole family, your little solar chargers will charge it. Because that's what I have and there's plenty of family games on there and it makes its own light.
I think I've seen enough of natural disasters and other occurrences to be more serious about preparing for what you need.
Defending against terrorists crossing the border.
Plenty of terrorists in the USG.
Careful, keep scratching and it might get infected.
What I tell the "You're paranoid" crowd...
Do you wear your seat belt because you think you're going to get in an accident?
No, it's required by law.
