The "mag bump" reload has to be used on Yugo BHO magazines because the bolt is pressing on the follower and magazines will not just fall out if you try to bump them only with your finger - that's why you need to use a mag and some extra force.
But the finger bump technique as you showed in the video is definitely faster if you use the right magazines
Mag bump adds +2 cool, which increases damage overall... duh
@@Warbearwooliez good point
In theory, this is how I could see an Ak reload becoming much faster. Use BHO magazines, and a safety that has a catch for the charging handle. The process would look like this: go empty, flip up safety, bump magazine out with middle finger while simultaneously grabbing a new mag, insert, then flip safety down. Would this work? I always found using my middle finger to bump the magazine out, and also grabbing a new mag at the same time to be much faster than any other method. Combined with the BHO mags, and a safety with a catch, I could see that being the fastest possible Ak reload. I’m not sure if this would work in theory though. I recently sold my 74, but maybe someone else could test out my theory?
@@sethnavarrette9011 The catch on BHO mags ride on the bolt itself, removing the magazine requires extra force and momentum to strip the empty mag. So using your middle finger may not work, but you could strip the old mag whilst holding the bolt with the safety.
In theory it can potentially work to some capacity but in practice, might complicate the reload for a lot of users.
@@sethnavarrette9011 That is way too much to keep up with my man.
Most people suck at reloads because they don't practice. Whatever weapon you're using you're going to have to do the reps so it becomes second nature. I know a guy who competes in IDPA matches using a revolver, he can reload faster than most guys who use a semi auto because he practices A LOT.
Yeah man, I say that all the time about ak's. You just have to dedicate time instead of complaining about the ergonomics.
Quite literally the best AK-centered content creator on all social media, keep killing it brother
🙏🏻
Truth !
Second
Have 75 rd drum, no reload needed!
Drums for 7.62x39 is like carrying a toddler under your AK I just run 40’s lol and 30’s. Too heavy man. Unless it’s an rpk setup .
@@benwoody4918 I don’t think he competes in the carrying the toddler 75 round drum 7.62x39 magazine comp shooting event. Only RPK’s and dudes that blast and cruise permanently on test and primobolan can handle it.
@timkc1638 the romanian 75 round drums that load like d60s are fine weightwise if it's a quick match. After that they can get heavy. But uh, go gym and be stronger!!!!
Nope you will reload after the 75 rd mag is empty
Yeah, until you need to reload lol
I’d like to thank Call of Duty for my reload methods
this isn’t a joke 😂
I’ll take things that never happened and does’t own a firearm for 500, Alex.
I found that Iraqi reloads have their place. I had my first double feed and needed to stow the mag in my dump pouch. Cleared the feed with my right hand on the racked charging handle, grab and inserted the mag from the pouch and just let the charging handle go. It’s not something i train but i saw that it was improvingly viable
I know you don't dig underfolders but, what about a foldy boi tee for the third pin threads merch?
Also, 7:30 I've found that using the fresh mag to flip out the expended mag will dent the crap out of your lower handguard as the expended mag flips upward and outward from the rifle. 12:27 illustrates this perfectly. May not matter much to some, but if you've spent $$$$ on custom wood, that is painful.
I learned by watching you.
I really enjoy watching you run an AK, so smooth! Your wife’s “meep” always cracks me up😂!
Thank you Klay! very helpful love the basics!!!! big fan from Prescott, Az
Thanks @klayco47! Im new to AKs (other than being shot at by one). Smiles. I was curious about the different styles of reloads. You slowed the techniques down enough to see. Appreciate it.
Great video as always, you are definitely THE man when it comes to Ak reloads.
I’ve noticed that people in the west tend to do more reloads with left hand, including pulling the bolt, whereas more to the east right hand is used.
Me and my buddy were seeing how fast we could get a reload. I think our fastest was 2.74 seconds.
The solar tactical magwel helps a lot.
My fastest one was 2.14 with AKs74u
After watching Klayco's video im motivated to try it again, maybe get it under 2s :D
3s is a very good par time IMO
Cool! Thanks Dad!
I have never owned a ak and about a year and half ago I bought a Zastava M70 ZPAP and this channel has improved my shooting beyond just good.
was working on this today too along with the recoil management. I found myself trying to hold the gun out by just the pistol grip. As soon as I realized it, I stopped, reset the drill, and tried again. It took a bit, but I started getting it. definitely need a lot more practice, but I felt myself getting faster as I was working the drills.
these are absolutely helping me suck less at AK stuff. I appreciate it!
Very informative video. This gives me some things to consider regarding the reload process. More practice
is needed on my end.
Awesome video I’m very new to AKs too used to ARs and this is such a great video for newbies like me. You are very fast! Thank you so much
A great teaching moment in Ak-47 reloading. Thanks, brother. Will practice it.
I have been working on retaining ALL of my mags! Takes a little longer, however I still have all my mags.
Do the standard Russian reload
I've got a little weld on mag release extension. Makes a little rounded "T" shape, great for indexing the thumb
Love this series 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
On the wrist supporting weight. Remember that your wrist may already be fatigued depending on what you've been doing. Not a good situation.
Brought to you by The AK Godfather
That was immensely helpful, thank you,
Thanks for this one!
Awesome tips. Time to practice . . .
I think you have the smoothest reload I’ve seen so far I watch your old videos. Nice, I practice every morning you got great video. thank you I got like five of your shirts. Great RUclips videos.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you so much for the support!
Thanks you two 👍👍👍
you are very left hand oriented with gun actuations. I remember seeing some Russian pro training thing years ago. they were using the right side of the gun with their right hand. I never see anyone really doing that. I practice it and it works very well. left (lead)hand changes mag, then holds gun tight. Right, charges rifle and quick slide into trigger grip. it lets you begin looking down sights before you have finished reloading even. So anyways, i like this Left, Right thing.
In next week's video I go over which hands I use to work the charging handle and why. Both hands have a purpose for sure.
@@KLAYCO47 I just hope to be able to notice unnecessary dependencies. Every real scenario is different. One way may be unavailable when you need an answer. It is really like a mechanical shovel.
Thank you, fantastic tutorial
I like the tactical reload.
Tactical reload with right hand, with left hand holding vertical fore grip and stock in shooter position. Also double stacked mags.
I'm not an Ak guy yet, but I do support my Ar 15 like he was saying. I use the Mission First Tactical stock to hook on 1 side or the other of my forearm. A goid technique to have in your bag.
I definitely use the "easy reload" the most when at a competition
It's like martial arts. Discipline. God love the simplistic design of the AK.
yes but consider this:
it looks cool
and i've got a biggerized mag latch so it works every time
that "beep" at end tho XD
I'd like to see the Strong Hand reloads. It's slower, and you would do it from cover, but it is something you should practice.
Off topic but itd be dope to see you get into the NV game and build out a NV capable ak setup...
Great video as always. Any mk23 Krebs videos in the future?
I found that mad changes are so much smoother on milled AKs
Agreed
I agree......BUT, mag changes with my Draco while using those green Polish WBP mags are a thing of beauty, like they were custom-made for one another. It's weird but true.
Very detail infor. Thanks much from AR guy
7:40 as an 18 year old kid who got his first ak i feel called out 😭 😭 💀
I also feel called out, but I was 38 when I got my first AK. :D
Stay warm Klay. Somebody north dakota'ed our Texas
Thanks man you as well it's about to get pretty chilly.
I use the mag sweep reload I have an rh 10 with a snug and sharp mag release plus I don’t necessarily need gloves to do it.
I have been watching a lot of your content and I am a 70 year old Dog learning new tricks, wow
Klayco happy new year brotha ! You and Rob ski are my AK guys..been watching you for a while and you got me on the kns and ALG AK et setups. Learned much from your informative videos.
You’re the man!
I'm glad you found them useful man. 🤘
@@KLAYCO47 what do you think about the fb radom beryl in 7.62 ..Atlantic has it at $1460? You tried that AK out by any chance ?
100% tim. Between these two guys we are WELL served and represented. mmBeep!
Run drum…reload less 😏
I think this is better than that method people use where they use a fresh mag to bumb out the spent mag. Using ur thumb is way faster.
Yep
Smooth!
very slick
yoo badass outro
It depends which you practice with on what kind of reload you want to use
Nice sharing and it means a lot to some people who loves AK and wanna train in AK. One question is there any other way of Tact Reload for an AK. This is from a question of an shooter with a small palm that cannot hold two AK mags the same time. Cheers
WBP`s have enhenced mag releases standard
Great Job! Now show us how to smooth out the mag catch.
There is one form of the mag sweep that I prefer teaching. I remember this was taught at the STA Training Group based on one of the instructors' principles: He uses the underside of the magazine instead of trying to fling it like a knife.
The reason behind this is because he has seen people flub the mag sweep reload, and potentially misalign or lose a round (best case scenario), the former can potentially cause a malfunction. Using the underside basically eliminates this issue, and in my own practice where I grab the mag midlength, you can essentially flick your wrist and naturally guide the new mag in, though of course I still prefer using my thumb or just stripping the mag first.
Always do whatever works for you. But yes, I think having the dexterity in your thumb and absolutely knowing what your touching is far superior than using the magazine.
@@KLAYCO47 It's always good to know the various methods, understand the principles and weigh the pros and cons eh?
You should do all the psa ak version reviews for us poors especially the blems to show a path
MEEP!
What happened to the AK RUclipsrs live? I didn’t finish watching
I'm a right handed dude and when I reload from the chest the rounds are facing right. I just beer can normally but can't the rifle inboard. Since my hand is already outboard, I just charge then gun with my thumb. The inboard to outboard can be weird at first but you just have to roll the fun over to index.
Is the Rachel reload called the "Chic Flick"?
Klay besides the high jokes becuz it say "baked" people ask if thats bacon strips 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks
Buongiorno a tutti...bellissimo video...molto istruttivo...mi sembra che i caricatori in bachelite sono quelli che funzionano meglio...mi confermi? Grazie ottima lezione..🤙🇮🇹
They are Sturdy and Battle Proven for Decades... 🤘🇺🇲
Should look up Praktikal Nurse video from years back.. he did a AK reload video with a very cool method where left hand stays on handguard. First time I saw it anyway.
If that works for you go for it. I would just rather keep my right hand on the pistol grip plus your armpit will always support the weight instead of an outstretched arm.
@@KLAYCO47 👍 I go back and forth.. just saying kinda cool alternative. But good advice, whatever works for you! Good video!
thanks! i have been using the mag to remove other mag and I keep launching my spent mag way in front of me and it drives me nuts because I want mag retention.
I hope you stick w AK’s man. New generation Jim Fuller man for real we need that for our generation. Thank you 🙏 love my AK’s SO much. Shame US is so obsessed w AR’s SMH 🤦 if I see one more Daniel defense video on my feed ima just move in the woods forever.
Nize!
This is the best video I've seen on AK reloads. I notice that you recharge on tactical reloads. Is that force of habit or are there reasons to recharge on any reload?
I just didn't have the next mag loaded.
Hey there, man. Long time listener, first time caller. I love the idea of using an extended thumb instead of banging up my magazines. The problem is my WBP Jack’s stock mag release lever is super stiff to the point where I’m just cutting up my thumb trying that reload method. Is there a way to lessen some of that tension or should I replace it with an aftermarket lever?
Just another reason why I always have a glove on my left. Ak's are hard on the left hand. As far as loosening it up, other than just giving it a ton of use. I don't really know of a way.
I just Received my latest order from "Third Pin Threads" Folks, The Sizing is unisex, if you are an XL guy, 6'2", 225 Lbs. like me, I ordered XXL and they fit me Perfect! I also received a Trucker Hat (Beautiful) my new Favorite and the fur lined AK Beenie and They are All Saweeeet! get em while you can!

I just got my ak the 28th of January can I dry fire it extensively or should I buy a snap cap ?
Lets gooo goosld morning
I like your AK very nice......
Came for Svetlana. Stayed for excellent presentation.
Nice Bakelite mag that shit is sweet
I find myself jamming the mag right infront of my knuckles and dragging it hard against the gun. But foreal tell me how u run that trigger
I CANNOT physically tac reload my AK because I am using the AK Master Mount on the side rail. The mount is in the way.
Hey Klayco, AK newbee here, I own a few AK47s but recently found a Bulgarian type AK74 from ITM Arms Co. for sale. It was offered to me for 1k beans. I’m a little strapped right now but I’m afraid to let this slip through my fingers. I was considering a trade with one of my AK47s or if I need to I’ll get the green to get it. Need some advice Klayco.
Who makes the light mount
Cdm gear
@@KLAYCO47 mvp 🤝
It looks better than the Khyber customs one you recommended at one point that I still use on two of my setups… like it’s tighter or close to the block?
Where is your wooden forgrip?
Whats your go to reload for totally prone. Like if you where shooting under a barrier, or under a car?
Reverse beer can grip off the chest rig.
I place my bullets facing to the right, always. When standing I invert my hand (thumb down). When prone I pull it straight out (thumb up). Rotate the gun and rock it in. Charge underneath if you can, or use the right hand if you cant
Outstanding video! I will be doing some extensive practice utilizing your techniques. I really like how you clarified the use the thumb to release the empty magazine instead of using the mag body to do so. It makes total sense even if don't care about tearing up your mags. The only thing that I would do differently is not to charge the weapon after a tac relead. Perhaps the only exception would be if you know that the weapon is dry and you felt the need to retain the empty magazine.
I request master hand reload please. I understand it makes LARP-Seal-Team-69 members self-combust, as ninjas fly out of the walls whilst their hand is off the pistol grip ..... but the Slav who showed it to me looked slick as snot ...... especially the little bolt-rack peek into the ejection port to ascertain his stoppage before reloading.
As long as you're in the real world and not a flat-range-power-ranger, it apears taking your hand off the pistol grip does not always constitute certain death.
I see zero value in that method
Would you ever take a M+M M10X on the range? I'm curious what you'd have to say about it.
That may actually happen before you know it.
What about the very awkward keep the ak in shoulder, right hand pull charging handle back left hand with new mag then release.
The "Iraqi Reload"
@KLAYCO47 yes
Do you have any advice on trigger slap. Switched out to a alg same issue thanks
Check and make sure ur trigger pin hole isnt wallowed alil bit...i had that happen and the hole in the reciever was wallowed out alil causeing trigger slap
I came to see Rachel yeet mags
What variant is that one?
Everything is correct, we are doing the same.
Do an Iraqi reload foo 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽🔥🔥🔥🔥
What ak do you have?
I don’t own an AK, but seriously considering it. May i ask if this is the .308 AK?
its 7.62x39
What mag holster are you using?
Yes. I’m curious also.
Pfff we all know the superior Iraq reload is the best no need for any others
☠️
stop it...get help
I prefer feel and peel…my Russian friend actually taught me it…you run the magazine down and get used to being around. 1-4 left and just workaround on racking the AK after reload…it’s blazing fast once you get the feel of the mag down and know you’re around 5 and under 7.62’s left. It makes sense if you’re needing to just run and gun. Who. Cares about a few bullets if you’re trying to live. Just Go back and grab the mags afterwards.
Sir stop it with these lies
Why rack it on the tac reload? I would assume for a top-off that there’s already a round in the chamber. 🤷♂️
As stated in the video.
