- Friendly run with a gentleman in a stock (claimed) C7 ZR1.
Only got 1 clean hit in, and it was a short one, through 2nd and 3rd. Lambos up ahead were a rolling roadblock. Very cold day, lots of traction issues on both sides.
You think the Z was stock as the owner claimed?

I'm going to say it's tuned. A viper is 200-300 lbs less and yours has 800+ hp. You should leave him on a rerun if he is stock.
LOL in his vid he says he makes like 7something on the dyno.I agree he still should pull considering weight and they make like 6something to the tire.The auto is what helped keep him in power band, but longer the Viper would have started pulling

i think the c7zr1 has tune !! in germany this cars runs 100-200 (62-124 mph ) with tune approx 830 hp to the crank 5.2-3 ~ sec and stock runs higher 5 5.8sec nearly 6.1 and your car running like low 5 sec or high 4 sec (because i see the video from 720s vs your viper and stock 720s running approxly 4,7 sek 100-200 you are little bit slower maybe 0,2-0,3 sec ) form 100-200 also 62-124 mph i think this zr1 has stock engine but with a intake and tune or your raced again this race was not fair and maybe to short without perfect starting.

That Zr1 isn't stock and it still lost against a naturally asperated engine. Stock engine Vipers with twin turbos run 1200hp all day reliably. Can't imagine why someone would rather have a Corvette. Maybe because some people need an automatic to race lmao.

Id say it could be stock. People have trapped 140+ in stock ZR1s. My old C6Z made 610whp and a stock ZR1 RAN away from me. Just my $.02

Man runs 9.84 at 142.79 with a CAI... okay starting to smell a little bit here.
Man runs 9.6 at 147mph after removing ZTK wing and passenger seat.... Okay I'm knee deep in it now 💩.
Cliff notes. A passenger seat, cai, and a wing (imparting negligible induced drag on a 1/4 mile pass) is worth half a second and 7mph on the back end.

I've seen that vet before if I'm not mistaken they were passing mueschke Road on Highway 290 and I run a route on Highway 290 6 days a week and that vet is far from stock!
How far is far from stock
It’s fast but more than likely a cold air intake , mid mid cat delete x pipe and 3 inch axle back. That’s good for 700-710 whp.m stock tune. However with the viper weight 250+ less and making 700+whp n/a with real people knowing n/a is faster than boost power for power it’s not bone stock . The aero drag , weight and alone. I have a friend with a zr1 and I’ve never seen 140 stock but at mir in 60 degree weather he has trapped 136-137. Da does weird things with boost so in 40 degree Weather and perfect da I could believe 139-140 is possible . However a 720 whp viper
With a stroker making the tq and power under the curve that it’s making should trap close to 146-150 in the 1/4 so he should easily win. Making me think that zr1 has at least a tune. 600-640 whp c6 z n/a can trap over 142 but they are shifting at 7-8 k so that time in gear , extending the power band and shift recover rpm makes the difference and can be hurting you sneaky. Tasing yjhr shift point from 6500 to 7k will make a night and day difference with the tq and midrange that stroked v10 is making.

Crazy part is I don't even hear exhaust on that ZR1...not even a high flow mid pipe. Don't underestimate the C7 ZR1. They run ridiculously hard for what they are.

I have tons of experience owning both highly modified LS engines and these V10’s, but have major potential and I certainly wouldn’t call either a boat anchor.

Its a V8 with a supercharger. That effectively makes it move more air than just your normal N/A V8 or a N/A V10 engine. That Viper is only on 1 power adder, engine. That Vetter has two power adders and mods. Not getting guys acting like the "supercharged" big V8 is somehow less suited to moving air than an N/A V10. Both cars are monsters at moving air.
Something to be said about an N/A V10 car beating a car with big V8, SC, mods and auto though. Both are monsters but that N/A V10 and the shape its wrapped in, is very special imho. Got love for that Vette too but that Viper is exotic and faaast.

Viper is lighter then the c7zr1.. not by much.. but thats a stroked 9.L probably trapping 145 at least. Zr1 at 800whp with spoiler probably 140ish.
