This guy has me so inspired. I’m going to paint my brick. I only have brick in the front of my house. I love how he lists out all the steps and Lowes gives the shopping list. I’ve always hated my brick. It's not pretty brick. I'm so inspired and excited to do this project.

I'm preparing to paint my brick house myself. I actually considered having the paint stripped because the original brick houses in my neighborhood are absolutely beautiful. While prepping my house I discovered that my house has been painted several times so...paint it is. Thanks for sharing this video I'm spraying my house but I'm doing it all by myself!!! I'm so proud.

Someone painted my house's bricks in white... now it's nearly impossible to remove it even with a stripper. I hope people are aware of this before painting. It takes so much work that I'm reconsidering giving up and just repainting with a color that seems like brick

The holes at the bottom of a brick house are called "weep holes" and you should not plug them. they are there to allow moisture to escape from inside the brickwork.

My original brick color was unappealing, therefore, I chose to paint it some 21 years ago. Due to natural weathering, it’s time for a new color. Attempting to paint it is a challenge, but this video was extremely helpful.

      My thoughts exactly

    • @ZeoCyberG
      @ZeoCyberG 4 года назад +1

There can be multiple reasons, the usual three are....
      1) People don't always read what a link says before clicking it and that can happen a lot to people who are subscribed to a channel or just view channel suggestions or it may have been part of a automatic feed with this just being the next on the list...
      2) People won't always know they don't like something until they see it, as people can be open to ideas but still react strongly when it turns out to be something they don't like...
      3) People can have very different and strong opinions that will conflict with others to the point of being controversial enough to want to argue over it.
Painting wood or brick are prime examples of controversial topics, especially, as they can overlap environmental, health, and naturalist concerns. It doesn't help that painting brick can't be undone and would require replacing the brick to get the original look back, which could be a problem for future owners or even the same owner if they later decide they hate it...
Mind, trends and styles can come and go in popularity cycles over the years. Few things are always in style and again people are diverse and may prefer very different things and it can become a issue when it's something that can't be easily changed...
So it can be viewed as feedback to the content provider to let them know not to make more of this kind of video... versus unsubscribing and boycotting the channel over one video...

listen im all for a nice standard brick house when the brick is beautiful, but not all brick houses are "cut from the same brick" (style of house, landscape, yard size, house age and size) . Some, like this one, deserved to be painted. Especially because of how much natural trees and bushes so close to the home, which in my opinion can make basic brick homes look older, rundown, and dusty. But now it stands out beautifully with that subtle color against the areas around it with out being overwhelming (straight white with black trim) or boring (aka agreeable grey). If you dont like painted brick then dont do it, but dont hate on people who are trying to personalize their home to make it more appealing to them. Its not always about stupid resale value either, some of us want a beautiful forever home that we love, which might mean painting the brick.

I thought painting brick was a no no. Because brick is porous, (it’s clay) and clay absorbs water… and bricks need to breathe, so painting them basically suffocates the bricks pores, trapping any moisture inside, which can cause the integrity of the brick to fail down the road. Which is why they have products such as limestone paint, which is specifically designed to be applied to porous materials such as brick. Allowing it to release moisture as designed without causing structural defects to the brick over time.

Bout to paint my brick. It's a little cold outside suppose to reach 60 degrees.
Need to pressure wash the brick and porch. How long should I wait after washing. Is it to cold? Should I clean with hot water? Painting brick eggshell white, it should be a sinigloss? Oh! using same paint on 4, 10ft wood post. Brown porch paint shouldn't be to many questions. But while making this I notice it very windy, that could be a problem. Lots of leaves in fall.

Not all brick is beautiful. Obviously, if your house is lucky enough to be made of good-looking brick, don't paint it. But, if you have that cheap, ugly-as-all-get-out brick (like I do), there's no reason not to paint it. Question: do I want a breathable paint or not? There seems to be different opinions on this.

I've been told by a certified builder that it's best to use paints that allow moisture penetration through the paint into the brick. This encourages the paint job to last longer and resist cracking and peeling over the course of time, nothing last forever however I wouldn't recommend this paint for this job. LOWE'S is just trying to get you to come back every 2 years.

Painted brick defeats its purpose and beauty. It makes it look like a cheap trap house rental in a ghetto

That was an OK video but make it more realistic. Our host didn’t have a single speck of paint on his hands or clothing. I don’t know about you but I’d be covered after a job like that.

Painted the whole house, but didn't fix or clean the crooked front step. It sticks out like a sore thumb with a nicely painted thumbnail. Awful.

Probably because the video was about painting brick.
