There are some great suggestions in this video. Exterior shutters really do add to the curb appeal of many homes. If you opt to build shutters, as suggested in the video, consider pricing new shutters also. You may be surprised that new shutters can be affordable, which will also save you time in the long run.
We took our shutters down and trashed them. They made the house look like the 60's or 70's.
But, I definitely like the other ideas.
Great tips for when you have a tight budget. We also suggest changing out your house numbers!

Did you have to cut away any siding when adding the crown molding to the windows? Or did you just attach on top of the siding?
1. Clean up stuff laying around 2. Put a screen around your trash bins 3. Window shutters 4. Trim around the front door and windows 5. Use stone veneer on columns, stairs, and foundation 6. Window boxes 7.Garage door: paint a pattern, add hardware or fake windows

My husband hates when i watch videos like this. Makes him more work around the house! I love the stone on the front of the steps..... now where did he get to...
J. Smith 😂 mine too. Got him work the front garden bed. The rocks flower bed previous owner kept stacking more instead of digging them up. So got alot of stone go around our trees and shrubs lol.

"Add trim to a window".....If that trim isn't watertight and sealed properly, water will get behind it and cause HUGE problems. That upper trim did NOT look right.

As an HVAC/R technician a would not advise enclosing your air conditioning condensing unit. That's a piece of really bad advice.
I think I heard or read somewhere, that you need at least 3' around the a/c unit?
People in California hide those ugly things all the time. So long as you use the open work lattice.. leave enough room between the lattice and the unit.. and leave the top part open.. the unit should have plenty of air circulation around it.

LOLOL. A lot of great ideas, but no way you're doing these projects at the prices they are displaying. First of all, it's assuming you have the tools and skills to do these projects. That cost alone easily doubles or even triples the cost. Next, many of these projects require the approval of the HOA if you live in a coveted community. Slapping up shutters and refacing your front stairs without prior approval could turn into a very expensive endeavor. This reminds me of those home improvement show on DIY network where they quote these obscenely low estimated improvement costs which never include the labor and/ or consultation fees from the renown interior decorator.
aeromedical67 yeah. Lucky mine isn't HOA however still need building permits for fences or other buildings. So true need be careful if have HOA most should be happy if trying make home nice outside means that area boost up sale value of a home.
So don't go with HOA?
Any male at least should be able to paint his own house w out hiring help if he wants to save a lot of money. Every male should know the basic carpentry skills by his mid 20s. Unless you have a huge house or mansion, you should be working on your own crib 💪🏽

All really tacky ideas.
They're not tacky ideas, but they are designed for a specific type of "Cape Code" or cottagey style house. Flower boxes and colonial or rustic style shutters look ridiculous, for instance, on a mid-century modern house. The fake carriage windows ARE nasty - they're obviously fake. Just paint the garage door out if you don't want to pay for a new one that has REAL windows in it, keeping in mind that a lot of people don't like windows in garages at all because they may invite thieves.
