Just found your channel. I can 100% tell you you've done the right thing. My Mum used alcohol to cope with the loss of her parents very close together. It did turn into a problem. I have awful memories as a teen of my mum's struggle with withdrawal. I'd like to say it ended well but it didn't. At 20 I came home to find her dead because of alcohol. You have done the absolute best thing for yourself and your daughter I promise you! You should be super proud!
I am ever so sorry to hear of your mums struggle and the effects it had on your childhood and her passing 🩷🫂 That sounds unbearable 😪 It's an easy path to go down but a difficult one to get off isn't it. No one sets out to be an alcoholic and there is nearly always an underlying reason as to why they started but it does often devastate their lives and also their loved ones 💔 🩷 Thank you for the support x
It’s so brave of you to share your experience to help others. And you’re right; minimalism definitely benefits other parts of our lives. May your channel grow to whatever you want it to be ♥️
@mahadewiiii It's amazing isn't it?! 🩷 428 days for me now as I've still not had a drink 😊 Without a "reason" to have one, I haven't bothered! I never needed a reason before this challenge lol
Congratulations on your journey so far 🥰 My addiction is sugar which I’ve just started on my journey to cut down excessive sugar in my diet we can do this 💪
Thank you 🩷 I've also started my sugar cut back recently, that's why my skin is so awful in this video, all the spots were coming out from eating clean for a week or so. I've done it before and lost 50lbs but that was years ago now and I've slowly piled it all back on 😔 We can do this!! 💪👍🏻
Thank you for sharing your brave story! I have “cut back” on alcohol, but have not completely quit for longer than a month. You are an inspiration to try❤
I’m completely feeling the same when I’m in the pub with friends, I don’t h hold a glass in my hand I feel really embarrassed. But i never enjoyed drinking so I don’t really care about what people think. I just have a glass of coke 🤭. I wonder if you would have time to make a video about your minimalist journey? What makes you to become a minimalist? Iv seen so many videos about this but never really see anyone can be as minimalist as you are. I’m in this journey since 5 years ago but it’s really hard when you live with people who are not.
Absolutely I will 🩷 It is easier for me as it's just myself and my Daughter, I think I would really struggle living with a partner now as I've been single for 8 years now and am set in my minimalist ways!
my need to drink Alcohol stopped when i had my son 18 years ago i just wanted to be alert all the time now i just dont even fancy it ! i think you have done so well x
Thank you 🩷 Friends are a tricky situation for parents for sure. Most parents don't have much time to socialise and when *we* do, it doesn't tie in with *their* schedules! That's why I try and enjoy life regardless, I will holiday on my own, go to gigs solo, the gym, anywhere really. It's like a muscle, the more you train it the easier it gets 💪😆 I've moved away from where I grew up so Most of my best friends I only see a couple of times a year
You are so strong and I’m sure your sister is very proud of you ❤️ Thank you for sharing your experience and being so vulnerable with us. I rarely drink because I don’t enjoy the taste of alcohol, but very often people try to make me drink because “otherwise it’s not fun” but nowadays I feel much more comfortable asking for non-alcoholic drinks or mocktails. The first times were awkward but now I guess people are used to the fact I prefer to drink sodas or juices. I also don’t have alcohol in my house because I used to buy bottles only for my guests. I find it easier to go to the restaurant so anyone can drink whatever they want, and if I host I ask people in advance what they want to drink, buy one bottle, and they take the bottle home with them when they leave. I also feel better knowing that my guests don’t drink too much when they visit me because the drive home is safer this way.
Thank you so much for your kind words 🩷 What a great way of hosting, that's a very considerate host, I bet they love taking the leftover alcohol home! It's very admirable that you don't drink even under pressure, there are some great mocktails out there now too which make it easier 🙂
Well done to you, great video😊so sorry to hear about your sister😰💔I’ve been sober over 3 years but I never really enjoyed alcohol before or drank much so I stopped completely. I would much rather a cup of tea☕️❤️
Such a lovely open and honest video❤ Very inspiring! I barely drink now as my body just can’t cope with it, even small amounts. I am contemplating giving it up totally, I mainly have it to calm my nerves on nights out and occasions as I can feel quite anxious and self conscious, but I think I am going to try more without x
Thank you Sharon. It was mainly those moments I missed it the most too but I got through them and even enjoyed them, it took some getting used to though! 🙂
I am so so sorry ❤️ My minimalism journey also was sparked by losing a close loved one. It really inspired me to think of things beyond this life and hoarding up treasures in heaven instead of here on earth, where everything will eventually pass away. I am so happy to hear your journey of sobriety ❤️ hugs
I'm so sorry for your loss also 🩷🫂 It certainly does make you treasure what is important in this life doesn't it...and it certainly isn't stuff! I was a minimalist before this point but it made me treasure experiences more, so I make a conscious effort to get outside in nature more, try new things and go outside of my comfort zone (like this channel!) and to try and see more of this beautiful world 🩷
Congrats on being sober 1 year 🎉 Sorry to hear about your sister 🤗❤️🙏 I go to gigs by myself, it's a bit awkward at first but once the band come on stage I just lose myself in the music 😁
Thank you. I rarely have caffeine, I drink decaf tea and only occasionally have fizzy drinks. I've drastically cut back on the sugar this year as that's a goal I want to work on 😊

Minimalism + soberity are basically the same thing, both about decluttering the excess and negativity x
Exactly! I didn't have room for that in my life no more so made space for better things 🙂
Great❤ i like your authentic. I resonate with a lot things.🤗💛
What a remarkable, strong young woman. An amazing video to put out there and I hope it helps other people

You’re so brave sharing your story and congratulations on being sober for one year ❤
Also holidays on my own are awesome - I don’t have many friends and I’ve found making friends at my age very difficult. Parenting can be lonely 😞

Can I also ask where you got your black t shirt from please? I’m on the hunt for a couple and I am wondering what ones are best x
This is my long black maxi dress I'm wearing in the video which is in my wardrobe tour 🙂
Such a achievement well done 🥳
Mum would be so proud of you sending you such a big hug 🥰 xx
