  • My wife and I go into the Alaska backcountry by snowmachine to spend three days and two nights camping out in a hot tent with woodstove. It was a very relaxing and peaceful time that we thoroughly enjoyed. We were sorry to end the campout when it was time to head back home. For more info on the UP5 tent we use in this video as well as the other products offered by Russian Bear Market, please click on the link below.

Hello my name is Lonnie and My wife is Connie.
Here at Far North Bushcraft And Survival you will learn about many long forgotten tricks and tips of the old time woodsmen. Not only will you learn about bushcraft / woodcraft but you will learn many things that will help you to survive in less than ideal "survival" situations as well. Come along and sit with me by the campfire as I delve into these subjects in a way that you can easily learn to then do yourself.
I will show you how to make shelters, gather food, use wild medicines as well as start fires with or without matches, lighters, ferro rods, etc

@@DameObserver108 This tent configured like it is, is warmer than the tarp tent in my last video configured like it is. However if the tarp tent had a second skin over all that had an air gap between skins, had an equally insulated floor system installed, had all air leaks sealed other than what is needed for stove air consumption and had as big a stove, it might be comparable but yet probably not quite as good due to the larger overall ceiling area of the tarp tent.

@@alaskankare I enjoy mostly novels. I enjoy a fairly wide selection of topics. However I am limited in what I read because I have certain criteria that the books need to meet such as very little (preferably none) objectionable language and no sex scenes. I am in no way against sex and in fact am VERY MUCH in favor of it but it MUST be within marriage and a very private affair. After all it was God who created it. And of course the book needs to be well written so that the plot, and character interactions are all believable. I have even enjoyed reading some fantasy type books but again the books need to be written in such a way as to be believable even if what is discussed is impossible. So those criteria severely limit what is available to read. I am on a constant quest for preferably prolific authors whose writings meet those criteria.

I am always amazed when I go camping alone, with friends, or family how tired I felt before bedtime. Even when not doing anything I was ready for bed. Hunting or fishing trips of getting up early being active all day I understand being tired and worn out. When going up to the cabin with my family brother, sister, there families and my mom and dad, and after doing absolutely nothing all day I’m as tired as any hunting or fishing trip. Be it cabin, tent or whatever.

One of my favorite camping trips you have done. This is the way I would camp now, with this very same system. The way the stove worked for you in -20c is perfect for this country too. That was a good tip, to prop the back of the stove up for better ventilation. It was nice to hear you play the flute again, I really love the sound of it. Enjoyed the meals Connie, you are a great camp cook, I wish I was there. I was thinking that knitting in this tent with the stove going would be lovely, and there you were knitting:) It's one of my hobbies too, very enjoyable while camping. Well, I'm viewing older videos, it's so nice to see them again and refresh on techniques etc of wilderness camping. Take care and blessings to you and family.

Hi L & C! I just discovered by trial and much error how to make hash browns- grate potatoes, squeeze the juice out, drink the juice, add salt and pepper to potatoes, fork some into your hands and form it into a thin burger shape and fry in a little butter on medium heat until just toasty. Helps to use a good lid on the pan to speed up the cooking of the potatoes. Yum!

Hello Lonnie, hello Connie. God love you both. I thoroughly enjoyed this video as I do all yours, I have so much to offer. That is one big tent, I know the two man tent is pretty big too the most perfect setup in camping that you can ever have especially when you use the inner 4 super cold events. I think you guys are glamping, and who couldn't enjoy that the way you had everything set up it's like being at home and that is definitely the best comfortable setup that you can have. So you guys keep making your videos I enjoy them and you keep that wife of yours smiling she's one of the prettiest ladies on RUclips and that is from the heart you guys look so good together. Looking forward to your next video stay safe StayWell and as always God bless

I stumbled upon Lonnie and Connie at a random when looking info for building a fire during the winter, because I haven't really been out in the woods since 2005 or so when I was working as a lumberjack. Anyway I stumbled upon this channel and at first thought this was a "funny eremit looking man that plays flute in the forest", but now I've been watching several videos and come to love this man. I've learned alot, and I'm from northern Sweden which is also very cold at the winters with deep snow and thick forests, so this channel is fantastic for me. I've become very inspired to take my family out and make a fire and cook dinner outside. It's awesome! This is the couple I would wanna stick to in the event of an acopalypse :D The safest place would be where ever Lonnie and Connie set up camp!
Much love and respect from Sweden!
