Our family just spent a few weeks in Alaska last month, we're Arizona desert dwellers, and thought we were in Heaven! Such an amazing, beautiful place. You have your own slice of paradise there... Lovely home, fresh crisp air, crystal clear water, abundant natural resources, and serenity. Thanks for sharing!
You must be very careful searching for serenity.. In Seinfeld season 9 episode 3, Lloyd Braun says, " Serenity Now, Insanity later." Be careful what you wish for. 🤪🤪 please give me a thumbs up. 👍
Generator, propane, fuel, snowmobile, store bought food, yea simple natural life there. Lmfao, not to mention all the other little conveniences he bought.
It all looks like peace on earth. The fact of living off the land doing the things our ancestors you to do. To me that's real peace and happiness. Great video.
What is that building on the right? The bathroom with hot shower and flush toilet? If not my peace and happiness would disappear the first time I had to walk out to the outhouse at 2 am in the snow carrying a bear rifle.
@@ThisIsMyAlaska I agree, but I prefer cats. I aspire to own a remote offgrid cabin someday. Spent way too many nights sleeping in a bedroll, in a bivy, and on the ground.
God, reminds me so much of home. I live in the UK since about a year ago, but I'm from northern Sweden originally. I can practically smell the inside of that cabin.
Reminds me of the life I had up in the Carpathians mountains in an old log cabin where i didn't had not even a fireplace or stove. Had to prepare my food outside using an old barrel in which i used to make fire. Inside the cabin was cold as heck. Showers were with cold water or snow. But guess what? Didn't even had a simple cold, or a tooth ache or anything. I moved back to the city after my training session, found hot water and gas at my reach and i started to have cold, flues, tooth aches, knees problems. I know that living up in the mountains is tough (even a nightmare for some people), but its all so dang beautiful. I miss that time, so next year i'm gonna move to an old friend's farm up in mountains. And i'm gonna take snow showers again :) God bless you, my friend :)
Good evening Radu. Well this is wonderful. I almost want to go with you, and could not agree more with your sentiments. I have a dear old native friend here that lives with his wife in a shanty on the bank of the Yukon River, hundreds of miles from the nearest town. He is also very wealthy. Last year I asked him why they didn't move to some tropical beach and this was what he said, "We have traveled all over the world and could live anywhere we wanted to, but there is simply no better place than here on shores of the Yukon River." I love their view of life. The things they valued were not associated with money at all. Peace to you from Alaska.
@@ThisIsMyAlaska Wow how do they buy food and other necessities or get mail on a regular basis if they are hundreds of miles from the nearest town. Or do they grow/raise all their own food? also what would they do if there is a sudden emergency like medical situation or a fire?? I'm not asking to be rude I'm just curious.............
Good morning my friend. Such an interesting comment. I grew up here back in the 60's on a remote, completely off-grid homestead. 50 years later, life here at this cabin is still relatively unchanged from those days. We have better equipment and technology to be sure, but the nights are still dark and cold and silent. I wouldn't trade it for any other place on the planet. Peace to you from Alaska
@@ThisIsMyAlaska I’d imagine the peace and serenity of those cold, still winter nights is unparalleled by anything urban life can offer. Thanks for replying, and wishing you all the best that life has to give. Peace and love from Israel.
The older I get, the more I can picture myself in a remote setting surrounded by peace and quiet. Great vids and I'll continue to watch. Kicking back next to a wood stove, a hot cup of coffee and a good book is good for the soul.
I have to agree. I'm 55 and outdoors kind of gal. What is it that makes us crave No distractions and peace 😄😄 I love cooking a hot meal and baking and a good book 🤗

Scott, thank you. Same here! We love the Christmas lights, they help with navigating around the deck after dark and they aren’t a huge draw on the generator. Peace to you.

I live in Alaska not too far from a town but out a little ways. Its much like this video. I don't understand why everyone doesn't want to live here but I'm glad they don't. Come on up, it's heaven up here.
This was one of the most relaxing things I have ever watched. Perfect collection of sounds while watching you go about your unique routine. I was supposed to be making coffee, but I started watching this and became entranced. 11 min later I snapped to, wondering what I was supposed to be doing in the kitchen. LOL
Ha! You’re supposed to make the coffee before you sit down to watch, so you can stay awake 🤣…Seriously, thank you for the very kind compliment, it truly is such an encouragement. It’s great to have you here! Peace from Alaska.
Just an idea: In Germany some restaurants have a semicircular heavy curtain just inside of the door to keep the cold from entering during the cold winter days. This curtain is hung from the ceiling on a strongly fastoned rack, and works great to keep that chill out. Might work well in your cabin there.
I watched this from LA in my shitty little expensive apartment where I could hear traffic going by and people scramming. I couldn't look away from the tv it was like an escape. Thank you for the therapy :)
Nice video with no background music really calm and nice and your dog is also very quiet.. I think dog is the only best friend in this world who never leave you
Good morning Shubhra, and thank you for your kind words. I agree, we are so blessed to have dogs in our lives. My pup's name is Stella. She makes me smile everyday. Have a great week my friend.
Looks like heaven on earth! Thought we would retire to our cabin, and then one day my husband decided he'd had enough snow after a horrible ski accident and wanted to retire to a beach. I'm a mountain/snow girl so the sale of our cabin has hit me hard. Thanks for sharing the serenity of your world.
Good evening my friend. I am so sorry to hear about your husband's accident and having to leave the mountains. I love the beach too but I would miss the mountains so much. There was a period of time in my life when I wanted to sail so badly. I wanted to experience being out on the ocean alone at night, under that huge sky. Truthfully, I would still love to experience that. Maybe some day. But for now, this cabin up above timberline, comes close. Peace to you my friend.

Why on earth would you sell it? If you wanted to go there, go there. You don't need to retire somewhere you don't want to, just like your husband doesn't have to either.
@@hellomimibanana Our retirement doesn’t plan for 3 homes, just 2, which is primary residence and (now) a beach house. Besides, my husband has let me choose all the gorgeous properties we’ve owned. Hello Thelma! Thank you for watching and commenting. This water is right out of the side of the mountain. I am standing at the fountainhead. It flows all year long, even at -40F. It is the sweetest water I have ever tasted. It makes fabulous coffee!
I saw a comment about shoveling snow. When I lived in Alaska I found it very therapeutic to shovel the driveway. I had a snow blower but often I shoveled it. It was magic. The cabin you see here is luxury and looks very new with all the mod cons. Would be ideal. Even a more modest place is still heaven. What you are not seeing is the wildlife that passes by. Moose, birds squirrels occasional bear. It is heaven on earth.

Whatever you do, stay away from Haines, Alaska. The worst place I've ever lived, by far...and I grew up in south Philly.....in fact, I'd stay away from all of southeast Alaska and start off in the Anchorage area. Especially around Palmer and Wasilla. Alaska is NOTHING like the lower 48. Also, it's full of EXTREMIST Republicans, just FYI. Not the friendliest place I've ever lived, that's for damn sure. Lastly, be prepared for NONE of your friends to come see you more than once because travel to Alaska from the lower 48, SUCKS HARD!!!! If all you're after is life off the grid like in this video, for the love 9f God start out in the Anchorage area first, spend a few years there and become accustomed to the different world that Alaska is, THEN decide if this is what you want. I lived MANY years of my life across all of Alaska and to be perfectly honest, aside from not having the northern lights, you're WAY better off building off grid in one of the mountain states like Montana or Washington. I spent years after my Marine Corps tour was up, in Washington and boy oh boy was that a great place. Great mountains, plenty of off grid opportunities and best of all, always still close enough to hop in the car and go to the ocean or whatever floats your boat and several big airport opportunities for your friends to use when wanting to visit. Just my two cents.... good luck and I hope you find what you're looking for. Also, just remember, if you think you need to move to find happiness, you're not going to find it. You must be happy first then find a place you love to settle in. 🙏🖖✌
Very Nice, Love the simplicity and pureness of it. The lights on the house after hooking up the generator are fabulous. Stay well and thanks for posting. William
I hear ya Shelly, no one feel comfortable with all the crazies running around. I too would love to escape but for now I just have videos like this to keep me sane.
I know this looks like a very idealistic life, so peaceful and serene and away from the rat race. However, in reality, I think this would be a very hard life to be so remote and dealing with the harshness of choosing this life style, especially for a long time. Most people are not really cut out or would know how to live out there, the eveyday things you bave to do to survive, etc. Yes, some people could, but in reality most could not for very long.
I spent a part of my childhood in Alaska and I remember our hunting and fishing trips and living like this. That was before generators were available/affordable for regular people. I loved that life.
Good afternoon Debbie. I love those stories. I grew up on the outskirts of Nenana. We hauled our water from the creek, a mile or so away, we heated only with wood, and our only "plumbing" was an outhouse. My dad dug a 10-foot-deep hole down into the permafrost and covered it with an insulated cover. He put a ladder down into it and built shelves down there. That was our freezer during the summer months. I remember when we got our first generator. It was a 4-kW Witte. My mom was so happy. Of course we didn't call it "living off-grid" back then, it was just "living". Over a half century later I am still trying to get back to that simple way of life and I believe I will make it. Thanks for the memories. Peace.
Hey there Steve! Thanks for watching. I am super excited to share the country and the life that I love so much. I think this will be a great adventure for all of us.
This how we lived until I was 13 yrs old! No TV -No Electricity -No Gas We had a huge cast iron stove, down comforters, a well and as much fresh game, berries, flora, fauna as we needed! Kerosene lanterns, fresh water supply from artisan wells, good food and few neighbours! A wonderful childhood spent in Northern British Columbia! We had a log cabin and every wall opened and became a pantry! Underground food storage and a smokehouse! Our dogs, 2 horses, 2 milk cows, 5 hens and 2 roosters provided for companionship and working needs! 1 bobcat that befriended us! Injured and my mother saved him! Timothy Tom was my 1 and only pet and best friend! A wonderful and Blessed childhood!
Hello Kathy! Greetings from Alaska. You make me want to hear more of your story. I grew up very much as you described. My father dug a deep hole outside the cabin that went down deep into the permafrost. He built a ladder down into it and put an insulated cover over the top. It had shelves all around at the bottom. That was our freezer during the summer months. He ran a trapline, hunted for our meat, fished for the salmon each summer and grew a garden. It was not an easy life but I loved it dearly. What was it about that kind of a life that was so satisfying to a child? Where do we find that quality of living in the world today?
@@ThisIsMyAlaska Thank You! The best part was falling asleep in the fresh air and waking to cowboy coffee, fresh bread and homemade butter! It was hard at times but it never seemed hard! We were so blessed! My mother homeschooled us bc the closest school was a couple of hundred miles away! We were north of Prince George -She was a teacher! When I finally had to go high school my reading and language arts were advanced! My dad played fiddle and spoons-mom sang and she played a wash board! Wonderful life!

Your love and dedication for, both, Alaska and cinematography ought to be commended. There are only a few men of your caliber. Living in the extreme cold conditions of Alaska in winter is not easy, as it requires one to expend much energy just in keeping himself warm. Kudos to you.

Good evening Raya. Thank you for watching. Many times I arrive at the cabin (in the winter) at very cold temperatures. The wind is often blowing very hard as well. I have redundant methods of quick fire starting because I have learned how important it is to have a reliable heat source. When I leave, I always make sure the fire-starting essentials are all prepared for my return. Peace.
I always forget that some people don't grow up in the middle of nowhere with extreme winters that require you learning these things. Sobering reminder that I have a lot more skills than I think I do.
Watching from the Philippines. I can't imagine how cold this place must be! Life there must be simple yet fulfilling and peaceful! Just what we need in these times.
hey there Ron! Hello from Durango, CO. My Filipino wife ( a science teacher) and I live in the South Western Colorado mountains. She's always cold, haha. We're not off grid, but we enjoy the self sufficient life style of hunting elk, turkey, and deer, spending time cutting our own firewood, and we heat only with the wood stove to cut down on winter electric bills, and operating a saw mill so we can add onto the cabin as we want to. Green house will be complete soon. Got chickens and ducks, & 5 big dogs. haha. but the best thing is being away from people and the hustle bustle of city life! (mostly that is, we still have a few crazy neighbors, as one would expect living up in the hills)

A man and his dog alone in a cozy cabin in the wilderness. Can’t beat that.
Correct, it would be obvious who beat the dog.
And i'm gonna take snow showers again :)
God bless you, my friend :)

Everyone should have a wilderness home to go to just to be in nature and relax. Loved the video and dog.
It's always such a satisfactory rush, when you get to your destination and set things up! Rock on!!!!
Peace.
Nice hearing that, Hello how are you ?

Uwielbiam zimno i mróz, niestety w Polsce prawie w ogóle nie ma zimy. Życie przedstawione na filmiku.. to życie którego chciałabym zaznać chociaż na tydzień w moim życiu. Spokój, bez ludzi, w pięknym miejscu i zimą.. bajka 🥰
Z powodu zmiany klimatu może niedługo będą mroźne zimy ;)
Hi
What a beautiful cabin!
So surreal and peaceful.
I grew up outdoors camping, fishing, hiking, boating, skiing, there's nothing quite like it, I absolutely love the outdoors.
I love the lighting that you put around your cabin the ambiance is so beautiful.
Thank you for sharing 🤓

@@ThisIsMyAlaska what about coochie?
Did he grow up in Los Angeles? No one around for miles in the dead of winter and he still locks his door. This is so ME 😆
Id be worried about bears getting in lol, theres been videos of them opening car doors and what not
I have family in Alaska 3 hrs away from the next town and 3hrs for a neighbor. They have to lock the doors because of bears and moose getting in
I would still lock the door because your never really alone
Ha, clearly you don't listen to Mr. Ballen. Look up his channel.
@@TheUnholyPosole That's my point
The simplicity and just pure solitude of this lifestyle is what makes it so desirable. Incredible
Move there
@@bobanpen1 sure I’ll get right on that

good for you dude this is amazing! no money or life is better than living by your hands and teaching yourself how to survival this is what humans were meant to do on earth, even tho its hardworking yet it brings peace of mind and serenity like no other lifestyle money can buy.

Thank you my dear friend. Warmest Christmas wishes from Alaska.
watching all that snow in the burning weather of Egypt makes me wanna cry.
I wish I can live in that place!
Good afternoon my friend. I don't think I would survive the hot Egyptian weather. You called it 'burning"! That is far too warm for me. My favorite season is the wintertime. I have lived here over 50 years now and still love everything about it. Peace.
Now see I can live off grid like that for the winter and being alone just makes it even better!!! Nice set up you have there!!! ❤️it
Good afternoon. I have many friends and acquaintances that live off grid here and have done so for years. I grew up here (over 50 years ago) at a remote lodge that was completely off grid. Of course that was back before we called it "off-grid". Back then we just called it "living". We heated with wood, hauled our water from the creek a mile away, and used the old outhouse. It was wonderful and simple. I still love everything about it. Peace.
He was not alone he had some else filming him
So sweet I think you can say that again lol , Hi how are you crystal ?
@@connerpoul6630 I don't think so, it's all tripod mounted.
Your filming, editing and production is awesome. Really good m8
Thank you. Videography is a great love of mine.
@@ThisIsMyAlaska...That's the word, I was trying to think of! Lol 😆 Great stuff. 👍
You're an inspiration. I've always wanted this type of life style, reminds me of my childhood in a small village. I'm in my late 20s, but plan on building a log cabin somewhere in Alaska after a saving up money. And peace to you from Tenn.
Take guns!!!!
i wish u well my friend
I'm from Tennessee. Didn't know we had villages here. Hmmm.
Yes, I love this way of "silent" shooting. Your effort to setup cameras everywhere, so we the viewers can follow you on each of your chores is amazing. If possible, tell us a little bit about you and where the cabin is located. A big thank you from Fort Collins, CO!
Thanks for watching Luis! I have lived in Alaska over half a century. I grew up at an off-grid lodge run by my parents. We had no running water or electricity, and we heated only with wood. I loved that lifestyle. Our cabin is in the Alaska Range in the same area my dad took me hunting and fishing years ago. It is still off grid.
Hi Nice video
Beautiful braveness
Wow... so do u buy houses or land there or does it become yours just like that.. just curious
