Beautifull job on this beautiful cabin - I especially love the indoor plumbing which is one thing I wouldn't be interested in living in any forest or woodsy area. So happy for you and your family to enjoy this wonderful cabin in the woods. Love it and give my 100% Seal of Approval.

i think he start building the floor 6 years ago. but if you counting the years when he first start clearing the land it was 10 years ago.

It's been a long time coming.
I remember when you were scouting for boulders to use for the foundation. Felling logs, de-barking them, and leaving them to season. All the work you and your dad did together to make this happen.

God bless! It's so good to see the cabin is completed and you are enjoying it with your family! I'm sure your dad would be so proud to see this. I lost my Dad this spring at 90. He taught me so much about building, mechanicing, hunting and fishing, family, and life. Most importantly, he taught me about my Savior! Have a Merry Christmas!

I recently found your channel and I don’t think I can find the words to truly give you the praise you deserve but I can relate to several themes throughout your video series based on my experience building my offgrid cabin.
First the logistics - It is hard to show in videos (even with you doing a great job showing it) how incredibly hard off grid building is. On top of that your ability to capture video, tell a story and create all at the same time is more than impressive.
Second I can relate to your desire to design and create almost everything for your cabin and the amount of time, effort and skill that requires.
And third, your relationship with your dad and family - for me May 4, 2012 at 7:26pm I answered the phone to a screaming mother telling me my dad was dead - he had died in a farm accident. Life changes quickly and is different from that day on.
Thank you so much for inspiring so many and showing the world what a great man looks like.

I deeply apologize for missing this when you first posted it, but I am overjoyed that you were able to spend Christmas with you family in the cabin. So very glad your Dad's coat and hat have a place of honor there, he was a very important part of the cabin's construction. Your beautiful daughter will hold this memory in her heart forever and when (we hope) she blesses you with grandchildren they will also carry the legacy on. Well done, sir! The workmanship on this cabin was on a level of its own. 100% perfection! 100% originality and ingenuity. I teared up when I saw your Dads coat and hat so well placed. I remember so well one Saturday afternoon we sat down with my 87 year old dad and watched the 3hr video building this cabin and I will never forget how excited my dad was because his favorite hobby when he was younger was woodwork and he would be so excited seeing wood turning into lumber, then joints into a masterpiece. I sincerely pray that God will give you a season of rest and you enjoy a wonderful heavenly joyous time with your lovely wife and daughter. Merry Christmas my friend and God bless you too.
