instead of rotating the entire object , you could just set the axis orientation to component, or whatever works best.

How did you solve the warning message my MEL.
well i did okay til the mug handle part where you select the two edges and angle them in. My tool is oriented backwards so when i select anything it makes a mess. i have tried resetting tool axis from the side menu from world to object and hitting reset tool on both, but nothing changes the direction. your yellow arrow is facing out to the right and mine is facing left. i have tried putting other values in the direction 45, 180, 90 etc nothing changes my yellow arrow to face outward like in this video. any tips?
I clicked the faces in face select mode and rotated them manually
