This needs to come back to public television. First time I saw it was on PBS when I was a kid, we recorded it but now its lost. Someone PLEASE OH PLEASE make this available again.
Hoping someone can upload this. I used to have a tape (Yes, tape.) copy of it in the 1990s. A love song to the gothic, and a great thriller.

I love this movie! I had it in VHS form but it disappeared. Does anyone know where I can find it????
This gave me horrible nightmares when I saw it on TV. Madame Dela Rougierre is a wonderful villain not to mention O'Toole's Silas. Unfortunately the DVD is very rare and pricey. The book is a gothic masterpiece. I also like "The Vampire Lovers" (arguably less classy but much more available) with Ingrid Pitt as the lesbian vampire Carmilla based on lefanu's novella of that name.

You can't beat the 60s version of this tale (Uncle Silas) from the astounding Mystery and Imagination series..also on DVD from Network .

Can you post your copy of Dark Angel to You Tube? I saw it way back in 1992 on PBS public television but it never, ever was broadcast ever again on PBS american TV - it is impossible to buy a copy in America. I would be SO grateful if you can post this movie to You Tube. Many blessings to you!

+amy clarke I haven't read the book Sheridan le Fanu however, I will, soon as I can find it. Mansions are grand houses,(Manors) such as Collinswood in the House of Dark Shadows. Uncle Silas's estate is of course a Castle,however there are huge estates in the U.S. it would be silly to call them castles.
