I feel like Return of the Jedi should instead because we don’t know that Vader is Luke’s father until the end, and in Return of the Jedi, it shows the father-son relationship between Luke and Vader as they team up against Palpatine
Real Steel popped into my head as the countdown progressed, but you know what I was really hoping would be on this list? "Over The Top." It was probably the first movie I thought of when watching this list.
A very good list but I think Bill Nighy and Domhall Gleeson deserve a mention for About Time. Their chemistry was incredible and they made for the best on screen father/son pairing we've seen it the last couple years.
I just think that Finding Nemo should be higher on the list. There were only father and sons in that theater when I went to see it, with my father, and I know I saw at least ten hugs on the way out. Although it was animated, this movie had an impact.
My son is 25 now and he didn’t meet his biological mother until 2 years ago. He didn’t like her. That’s besides the point, thank you for making a Father/Son list. Us Fathers are so important to all children. That should be expressed the same as a Mother’s importance.
I was kinda hoping to see Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close on this list. Even though the father isn't actually alive during the film, it's still a very heartwarming father-son relationship.
Liar Liar should have been on here... But I'm so happy and relieved that The Pursuit Of Happiness is number one, such a great yet emotional movie, has me in tears every time I see it. ☺️😔👌

Ask questions. Start by asking your guardian the truth. Ask several people older than you on what happened. At the very least- Do it for you. Not for anyone else. This will ensure you are successful in life. When and if you find him. You don't have to say a word.... Just by you being there. It will change everything about you. Document your journey. It may inspire and possibly become something as memorable as the movies on this list. Godspeed.
What about "A Better Life"??? Damn, I know it's a small independent movie a lot of people haven't seen but wow...the movie was so moving and heartfelt. The father (Demian Bichir) was even nominated for an Oscar for his performance!
How about Tron: Legacy? The movie revolves around a son seeing his father after he disappeared inside a computer for over 20 years, one of the soundtrack scores is even called “father and son”
between Sly and Sage in Rocky 5 doesn't make any sense, he was trying his son to become like him but lack of motivation and support of Sly, the most regretful moment of his career
Seriously, where was Big Fish? That is honestly one of the best movies to depict a father and son relationship, and it's one of Tim Burton's best movies.

Its acted out incredibly well. directed brilliantly and the script was fantastic. The fact it was a true story as well makes it even more touching.
