- Much has been made about guitar master Jimi Hendrix, who died in 1970 at the age of 27.
Urban legends are told. So let's take a look at how much of this is true and how much is false.
He didn't leave the army, he was discharged. There is a legend that he broke his leg after parachuting.
The story that he left the army is a lie, he made it up.
In fact he was an extremely undisciplined man, he didn't obey orders,
on his days off, going to nearby towns with his army buddy Bill Cox and hanging out with girls,
they love to play the guitar.
He was expelled for not returning to the unit on time, for disobeying orders, and he did very well.
and that's why the world has met a guitarist like him.
Jimi Hendrix is a talented man, but the forgotten fact is that this man worked very hard.
After being discharged from the army, there was not a city, town, state or band that he did not tour until he became famous in 1967. He played in tour buses, cafes, hotel rooms, everywhere imaginable,

during his time as a touring musician, there was never a situation where he messed up or got the band's reaction because he got high, except for smoking weed. although the period when he really started to get involved with drugs seems to be the london period, it was the new york environment of that day. there was no one sober in that period and the crew around him. hendrix was never addicted to a substance and built his life on it. it would be wrong to compare him to jim morrison, janis joplin, kurt cobain, sid vicious. for example, if you sit and watch 69 woodstock from beginning to end, you may realize that hendrix was the most sober of them all.
the real reason for his death may be the same reason that caused dozens of great bands to break up and genius musicians to grow tired and disenchanted with life at a young age.the real reason may be that his insatiable manager made him work like a laborer with endless tours.hendrix was one of the most profitable musicians of his era, making the most money from a concert.
This man with a thousand projects, ideas and melodies was exploited as a money machine.
Basically, there are a lot of misconceptions about him.
"room full of mirrors". it is an exquisite book in which only the answers of all the interviews with him are compiled and only jimi speaks, not in the form of question and answer. i recommend everyone who loves and respects hendrix to read it. you will realize that he is a very different man than you think.
