an imaginative fire bleeds out of Jófríður's eyes and spreads across her band mates, who seem very focused yet entranced by their own sound. intriguing band genesis. it sounds like something many of us think about when we're younger but never actually see through. amazingly enough, i don't think these guys have achieved their real potential yet. i was intrigued to discover that all of them have a near equal input in the actual songwriting. it was interesting that the band began in the middle of Winter when the sun favours the southern hemisphere and the conditions are becoming harsh in the North. it makes complete sense that there would be a need to beat back the "bore" that can creep in from being confined by the weather and gray moods. i would have wished to hear from the other band mates as well about their take on the beginnings and writing process etc. nevertheless, this was an enlightening session for this fan. lastly, i admire the selfless effort to play at KEXP Seattle studios in "appreciation" of a partnership. keep it real Samaris
their lyrics are in icelandic for a reason: to help reaching a certain glacial mood and to focus more on the music itself; no wonder samaris is one of my favourite bands.
Andreea Rujan Indeed. and how lucky and exhilarating it must be to have grown up immersed in one of the most ancient and complex languages on Earth,..furthermore to be able to marry this magical way of communicating with poetry for music.
one of the best groups of talent to walk into the Kexp studio ever and they will be hard pressed finding a group to top these three anytime soon in any configuration as this performance is spectacular
He's called Doddi. Check out his spotify playlist, 'doddify'. There are some mint tunes on there: open.spotify.com/user/samaris_1/playlist/5q6zogC6KSs0i3A7Q4gfhQ The girls did a playlist as well, 'one for the girls': open.spotify.com/user/samaris_1/playlist/3Ua9ttPLuW9omElASSRn7K
Chonkachella It won't let me play anything unless I sign up. I refuse to sign up to a corporation who pay themselves 42 million, & artists 0.00002 per play; further hindering any genuine intentions for artists to innovate by rewarding those boring enough to be popular instead!
I know I'm not supposed to compare other Icelandic artists to Bjork, but they really remind me of her. Reminds me of a less creepy/weird Grimes too lol
without a doubt one of the most creative and unique groups to grace
the studio of KEXP ever!

I love this girl, she is so amazing!
Very unique, really enjoyed the music. KEXP is doing a great job, promoting so many bands from all over the world.
she is so cute❤
they get better the more exposed you are to their brilliance
what do people in iceland do? just roam the dreamlike scenery, wear fubu hats and make magical music?
Yeah, pretty much.
Rah Bak but of course! look at her! she is a fairy!
Yes and we should all do the same
Certainly the dreamy music, it seems ...
They all go to the same school at childhood...
Magical performance. Doddi's beats be straight fire. He even kept it trill with the OG fubu cap.

Jófríður is just so... I don't even know how to say it. There must be a word in icelandic for it.
Undraverður is one, ótrúlegur is another maybe. ;)
the second word is unbelievable? similar to the swedish otrolig?... what is the first? :)
x extraordinary?
the 1st track kinda reminded me of gazelle twin
I know I'm not supposed to compare other Icelandic artists to Bjork, but they really remind me of her. Reminds me of a less creepy/weird Grimes too lol
Singer has her headphones on backwards
ReaLLy Loves Her °OBOE\CLARINET, Dun-She .?????????
they can do no wrong as far as i'm concerned
She put her headset on wrong side. It kept me distracted for a long time
Someone please tell him what FUBU stand for......

let's see what happens to them in the future
before you know what
happens
Like Enya..., with THC sprinkles.
