I have been watching videos because I installed my diy microlocs on the 20th and from my understanding the 2 point is faster, the locs are fluffier and fuller BUT it causes problems years down the road because the pattern is like a linked chain and it creates small holes and lumps that can be damaging to your locs. Some may not care cause it's after a few years you'll see the aftermath. The 4 point is tighter and rounder so technically the loc will be stronger. A great in between is the 3 point. A little fluff and strength with less lumps.
Here's my understanding of the different rotations: There's 2, 3, and 4 point rotations. The higher the number, the skinnier or more petite loc you will have. It's all about what you prefer: a more chunky loc (2 point rotation) or a petite loc (4 point rotation). So a 3 point rotation is in between... is not too small or too chunky. Hope this helps 🤷🏾♀️
Your 3 point rotation is fine. The longer you wait in between sessions the longer your retie will take. Setting schedule really depends on how fast your hair grows. When new growth gets to point that you can do a full rotation then its time. But if you're an above avg grower you may have to wait until at least 4 weeks knowing you're doing more than one rotation.
the grid is crisppppppp! Yasss ! dont worry just take your time. interlocking after retwisting for me was way better. Just like you mentioned you will be about to wash your hair more often, and the hair will mature a bit faster. Keep it up girl!
And yes, with interlocking you can definitely wash your hair more. I have sisterlocks and wash once a week. My hair is shorter than yours, so I still have to worry about slippage.
@@beyoutifullynatural9451 right now I'm only using the sisterlock shampoo. But I did buy the Suave Clarifying Shampoo to cleanse my hair before getting my SLs. I'm only a month into the journey right now. I'll see what my loctician recommends as my locs mature.
You’re doing great! I wait about 6 weeks in between reti’s. If you can fit a finger through the new growth at the front, that’s about one full 4-point rotation.
That was a lot of new growth. You did a great job making sure not to do them too tight. Scalp and hair health over "perfect" grids IMO. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much❤️❤️ they always end up breaking at some point lol! But I believe using coconut oil and Shea butter all the time helps make them strong
When you interlock if you want to take them out and change your hairstyle up will it have to be cut out? They are so cute🥰 and I see a lot of patience lol.
Thank you!❤️ They can be taken out but that would take a very long time lol! I’m letting it loc but if i decide I don’t want them later I will cut instead of picking it out. It’s taking a whole lot of patience for this 😂
Hey beautiful! I’m still quite confused.. everyone said not to go in the same direction again but you went under twice. Also how is the clock facing you where is 12 and 3 for you. May you please help me 💗🥺
Hey! I’m so sorry for the confusion lol this was my first time. I was thinking of the clock side ways on the top of my head 🥴 so 12 o’clock for me is where my middle part is, if that makes sense😩 I followed this exact video of Keisha’s. She has braid locs and she also does the 3 point rotation. I’m sure she explains it a lot better than I did girl lol ruclips.net/video/pbnC11im5HQ/видео.html Thank you for watching! Hope that helps
#3pointrotation seems to be 12, 9, 6, 9 and four point rotation is 9, 6, 3, 12, and reverse pattern four 3, 6, 9, 12. Congratulations on Your journey! I'm documenting My #smalllocs #tinylocs #finehairloc journey using #3pointrotation also.
@@beingmichelleg hey! I have a question. I always here people saying never go in the same direction twice but she went under 2 so I’m so confused may you please help💗
@@marieandree3431 What they mean is not to enter the same way back to back. So if you are doing enter at 3, enter at 6, enter at 9, enter at 12 is fine But not 3, 3 or 6, 6. I'm not professional but from what I've learned its why you should try to end going in same direction so when its time to retie you know which way to start. I don't recall seeing her enter any locs twice. Sometimes it gets confusing watching someone else enter at 6 and 12. If you watch a few more you should get it. What is important is you knowing how you are describing the rotations on yourself and then making sure you don't repeat an entry during any one rotation. Hope that helps.

Yep! I think I will stick with the 3 point. After years of RUclips University lol! Happy journey and thank you for watching❤️

Thank you so much❤️ that helps a lot! It’s about time for my second retie😩 hope it doesn’t take that long again!
Yes. 2 point rotation makes flat locs also. The higher the number, the more round but also more small

THAAAANKSS!!😍 I’m making lots of progress! I know I’ll love it after I’m done❤️
These are pretty!!

Do the 2 point rotation if you want a lot of fullness and thickness. That is what I do for my locks and it is way easier when retieing
Thank you❤️

Thanks! And always💯
The fewer revolutions in your rotation will make fatter (less compact) Locs. Depending on the hair type it will also be frizzier.
Okay thank you! I’m definitely seeing the frizziness now
How do you get your beautiful 😍 nails so long without breaking ? Also love 💕 the microlocs
Thank you so much❤️❤️ they always end up breaking at some point lol! But I believe using coconut oil and Shea butter all the time helps make them strong
You’re doing a good job. Just take your time. I promise you next time you do retighten you will be a more efficient. It’s looking though. Keep it ip

What tool do you use to do your locs, and where did you purchase it from?
It’s an interlocking tool that I got from my local hair store. Amazon also has it
Seems like you're doing 4 point.3 6 9 12
I think it’s very similar. I actually did 4 point on some of my locs. I’m still new so I don’t know too much of the difference 🥴
3 point doesn't mean you only do 3 entries but you're entering from "3" location twice which help lock form a little differently.
