My hair is 3c and 4a, for fuller locks I use 2 point rotation. This allows more swelling. For 4 c hair some would prefer 4pt rotation to avoid the xtra wide afro look. 4c hair need 4 point rotation to have less swelling because 4c hair naturally swells better than 3c hair.
hair getting 'extra wide afro look' isnt about type 3, 4 or 5, it is about hair density. I have *fine* 4c hair and I want more volume (the extra wide look u seem to think is bad). My 4c hair does not swell alot just because it is 4c. Thicker density swells faster than finer density.
That's sounds good and will sure look beautiful too. Everyone Hair texture and density aren't the same so the outcome will definitely not be. That's why it is not advisable to compare locs.

i learnt something new today.. Point rotations... At some point, i thought i was in a Geography class.. You really need to write a book on LOCs.. Nice onr
Girl, you really do your research well.. You are so knowledgeable in this area. My sister has locks and I have been sharing your videos with her. Be blessed ♥️ ♥️ ♥️
@lauragordon7419 you only enter in 3 directions. You basically rotate on side if that makes sense. North, east, south, east. Then start again at the north.
God! You are so dedicated and thorough! It’s quite obvious to see that you study and do your research so well when it comes to locs I mean, who knew locs can seem like maths like this?🤣 Thank you for doing the knowledge digging for us

My dear, you end up in the direction you want your loc to lay, especially is you have short locs. If you have long locs it really does not matter because the weight of the Loc will fall in which ever direction you drop it.
It actually depends on several factors - 1) the style you're trying to achieve after retie 2) Where your major hair parts are 3) the loctitian's handedness (whether left or right) 🙂 Even on the same head, at the same appointment, what you do might vary depending on the current context or circumstances. I've had so many clients request I do a video on this that I think it's high time I did. Many thanks for giving me the final kick in the pants 😄

Hi Newbie here 😂 my daughter has micro locs but her hair is fine I do 2 point rotation on her can I switch to 4 point rotation? I honestly want to take her hair down and do them all over but she has a lot of locs and they are almost like sister locs cause of the texture and size I made them
You're welcome beautiful 🤍The size makes sense as long as she has the patience for you to retie. If you don't have any problem with 2 point rotation, it's fine. 4 point rotation makes the hair more compacted and slimmer, if that's appealing to you then try it.
@@aramideugbomeh ahhhh gotcha and yes she will sit and let me do her retie and she’s only 5. I’ll try one and see but making them slimmer I may not be a fan of because they are already small. I been 2pt rotation for 3 years of my loc journey and my locs don’t look flat. They coil & shrink up and are very cylindrical.

It should be east to west, (ie: right to left), south to north (ie: down to up), west to east (ie: left to right) and north to south (ie: up to down).
For which rotation

God bless you, thank you for using the direction metaphor. It really helps with being able to map this process out on my own head.

3 points rotations are : 3, 12, 3, 6
I want to start to retie mysef. I will stick to the 3
Should people interlock on dry hair?
i dont have micro locs but i was hoping that i could still get the puffy look if i just did 2 point. thank you for this video ❤

From your description of the 3 point and 4 point rotation, you are making the hair to stand up instead of laying downward.

Hi!! I would want to know if "retwisting" this way is possible to take down the locs after without cutting it, please!
It is possible, and easier if the Loc strandas are not small/ tiny like in sister loc.
