  • In this video I did end up opening the 1975 rack pack that I had mentioned in a previous video. Hard to do since it is 45 years old; but packs are fun to open. I have opened older packs before, but those were the non-factory Christmas Racks. Hope you enjoy looking through this neat 1975 pack with me.

    Fantastic opening! A great Brett hit. Even though it's oc, it's still amazing to see it like somebody 45 years ago would've seen!

      Of course the Brett card just has to be off centered ! Oh well, still a great pull !!

    Finally found another person who opened a 75 pack and nabbed a George Brett rookie. I opened a mini pack from BBCE back in 2012 and pulled a Brett that ended up getting a psa 7 oc

    I don’t know how I missed this video. Be as it may. The Brett pull was wonderful to see. Such a shame about the centering. It was obviously a bad sheet. The Perez was beautiful with pretty good centering for that year. I love the Al Oliver card. Overall, just a really nice opening and one that you never ever see. Thank you for sharing!

    1975 was the first cards I bought as a kid. I got $1 a week allowance and bought six 15-cent packs at the store 2 miles away.
    I now have complete higher grade sets of 1975 Topps, 1975 O-pee-chee and 1975 Topps Mini. I like the All Star cards in red and yellow. Rod Carew was my favorite player of all time.
    I still have the Rod Carew card I bought in 1975. It is in Poor condition, but my complete sets are very sharp.

      @@commentingcollector true, 1200 or less for both of the 2 in 8's, both 9 times more valuable in a 9, 10's are impossible and quiet valuable, 250 grand for both in 10's. He said He had several of those packs, so why not take a chance.

    Great opening. Pretty sweet you got a Brett rookie. I’d put a penny sleeve on before putting them in card savers. Card savers tend to take the gloss off cards if there’s no penny sleeve.

    Bought one of these at a Card Show in San Francisco about 25 years ago…at the time it cost a “whopping” $10…best cards in the rack were a Carl Yastrzemski and a Johnny Bench…no George Brett or Robin Yount rookies…but still, pretty damned good

    Nice! Great pull with the Brett rookie. That centering was horrible! Right when I saw it I was like, “Oh no!”. Like you said almost the whole thing was poorly cut. Anyway, you still did well! Thanks for sharing.

    • @ilovebaseballcards9334
      @ilovebaseballcards9334  3 года назад

      Thanks Scott !! It was fun to open (and nerve wracking!). I coulda sold the pack on ebay for about $1200. But heck i only paid about $150 about 10 years ago, and when i bought it, had intended on opening it. I may get the Brett graded. I usually say "no qualifiers" when I submit to PSA. But if I do that, it may get only a PSA 5. So i may do it with qualifiers, and maybe it gets a PSA 8 MC (miscut qualifier) or PSA 8 OC (off center qualifier). Should get a couple of PSA orders back about the time you guys get out here. you can help with the videos of the grading reveals.

  • @ozman1966
    @ozman1966 Год назад

    damn, that Brett's extremely rough right out of the pack, lucky to get a 4 or 5 out of it if graded, probably get miscut or OC, the 75 mini were way more off center than those full size cards, but that one is really OC, almost cut off on the back, damn shame, but nobody would send that card in for grading ever, anyway. Still a nice pull.

  • @ItIsNot1984
    @ItIsNot1984 2 года назад

    Cool to see that opened. The Brett made me feel bad, but I guess you could've got the qualifier for it. Honestly, I don't think centering should have as much impact as it does. That is how it left the factory. It isn't damage. Comic grading makes more sense to me. Its much more forgiving than card grading.

  • @golfmaniac007
    @golfmaniac007 3 года назад +3

    they really need to come up with something different than those cardsavers to send to PSA. those cardsavers can do some damage to the corners and top to push the card in.

    Nice bust I've always had a thing for '75 especially the Reds and Red Sox.
    Are you looking for anything in the regular size not the small. I have 1 extra Lynn rookie pack fresh in a 7, 8 or 9 also Seaver, Rose, Blue, Cedeno etc... Let me know. The 2 big boys I've never caught a good one like your rip to pop sides on those. Again nice rip. I also get nervous when opening old cards. Just ripped a pack of '57 and all I got was a Billy Martin.

      and i used to like the taste of those ! i'd buy a whole box of like 1985 topps as a kid and pretty much cram 1/3 of the box worth of gum into my mouth at a time. i'd have to keep adding sticks of gum to it because the flavor last only about 142 seconds each! Still have vivid memories of spreading out all the packs and opening all in one afternoon. back then the box was like all of $14 !! some people have taken the old gum eating challenge and gotten way sick! on some 1970s packs i have opened, it has eaten through the top two cards like a chunk of sulfuric acid. yikes !
