Signed Baseball...1980 Pirates: Rod Scurry Bert Blyleven Jim Rooker Don Robinson Kent Tekulve Bill Robinson John Candelaria Enrique Romo (Not Jose Canseco) Ed Ott Chuck Tanner Andy Hassler Dale Berra John Milner Willie Stargell Dave Roberts Joe Lonnett (Coach)
I think that's a "we are family ball" the reason Bert Bryleven ,Willie statgel and Chuck Tanner were only on that team that year. Again a 300 dollar ball.
You made a killing. Those cards are beautiful vintage cards. I have no doubt that several of those cards would sell for $500. each. Nice purchase. Thanks for sharing. Very exciting. Jeff
In the 90's our pockets were bigger than now (we wore big baggy jeans) and we had cargo pants (they have a bunch of giant pockets), skating pants and shorts had big pockets too...
The bad thing about the cards in screw downs to beware of before you by them ask if you can take them out of the screw down to check them especially real expensive ones I’ve been involved in this hobby for 60 years the reason being when they came out with them everyone bought them sometimes moisture would get in them and when the cards dried over time they would stick to the glass causing them to tare before you byan expensive card ask the dealer if he can take it out of the screw down for you want to check it it’s the same principle as if you were buying a car it may look great but why would you buy it if you couldn’t start it up take it for a test drive or check under the hood
1980 Pirates team ball: Chuck Tanner (sweet spot), Dave Parker, Rod Scurry, Bert Blyleven, Don Robinson(?) Kent Tekulve, Bill Robinson, John Candeleria, Enrique Romo, Ed Ott, Andy Hassler, Dale Berra, John Milner, Willie Stargell, Dave Roberts, Joe Lonnett (3rd base coach).
Absolutely worth $500 , all those Mays , Mantle and Koufax's are worth it. That last ball is definitely an old Pirates ball the manager always signs the center front, saw some easy ones Bill Robinson , John Milner that you didn't say . Love your video's !!!
Sorry to hear about your store. I hope you have luck finding another location. That was a cool box. The second-year Brooks Robinson kind of looks like the end of a burp where Brooks is just starting to get a whiff of the foul odor that he just released. The 57 Maz, 61 Maris, 58 All-Star Williams, and 60 Musial all look great! That 3000-hit Molitor button was pretty neat too. Never saw one of those before.
LOL! Just look at the thumbnail! I see Mr. Clemente & Mr. Mays slabs staring at me, lol! 100% worth $500- and congrats for really hitting a grand slam! Awesome!
Love this channel! I’ve collected baseball cards since the 80s! I always dreamed I would go to an antique store, swamp meet etc…… and find a big box of vintage cards, but never did !!!!! So cool!
Those bricks are always the sign of an unknowledgable collector. Hope you didn’t lose any taking them out of those death traps. FYI the Clemente stickers were a Giant Eagle giveaway in 1990.
holy molly. There is women on FB selling baseball cards of her deceased brother for $500 and they look to be bunch of 80's & 90's card. The person who sold this collection must have fallen out of their chair when they only got $500 for such old cards. Good on you for getting that deal.
Heat up the screwdowns with a hirdryer while removing so they are less likely to stick to screwdowns or u could habe paper loss at corners of they are screwed to tight
Amazing pickup! I hope the screwdown cards aren't smooshed and the come out of those things clean. They didn't look sleeved but I'm not sure if that's better or worse with these cases. Heard stories of cards sticking to the acrylic or sleeve they were in. I would've taken the chance on 'em for $500.
@@thepastisalive Right on, man. I should've known if anyone has experience with those things, it'd be you, haha. Can't say it enough. Awesome haul, man. Some terrific gems in that box.
Nice video….The baseball looks like a 1977+ Pirates partial team ball…Dale Berra, Dave Roberts, Ronnie Sennett were a few others I could make out…Good luck with it….
$500?!?! You should see the asking price of the collections around me, this is an awesome buy! Almost feel bad for the person who sold it to you. Good luck with the new location, hopefully you find a spot soon.
The HOF cards seem like an easy $3K and the one ball is a Pirates team ball with Blyleven, Stargell, Rod Scurry, John Milner, Dale Berra, and others but I could see a lot of the player names as I mentioned here....great haul and purchase to upgrade your collection and get more than your investment back....thanks for putting this up to see
You killed the price with the first 2-3 cards, and I still saw a Willie Mays in there! And the other legends that followed. Plus the baseballs. WoW................ Just consider those huge screw-down cases big bricks of gold!
The autographs are in order you show them: Rod scurry Bert blyleven Jim rooker Ed ott Enrique romo ( you thought was canseco lol) John candelaria Bill Robinson Kent tekulve Don Robinson Chuck tanner Andy hassler Dale Berra John milner Willie stargell Dave Roberts Joe lonnett Hope that helps. I'm assuming it's from the 1980 season since Andy hassler is on there I collect autographs by the way lol so it was easy to figure them out
Don't send them to psa. Them screw down bricks kind of have some issues. they tend to say their altered... But that was a score !! Very cool box of vintage love
I have a Roberto Clemente card in one of those thick plastic screw downs. I don’t know what year it is. I’m closing out my safety deposit box next week. I’ve been told by some collectors that once you open it, it could mess the card up or I could separate from the card itself is that true? If I was to send it to PSA were they even look at it or even grade it? Thank you just wondering I’ll let you know when I go close out my safety deposit box.
Very cool video! Did you get any of these graded and if so, perhaps another video showing the results would be cool. Also, why do the screw downs devalue the card and how do the grading companies know they were in those cases?
Thank you! I did end up sending some to SGC awhile back for my PC and they graded fairly decent. The screwdown’s will actually flatten the cards over time if they don’t have the recessed pocket inside. Because of that, card companies will then deem then as “altered”.
You only paid 500 dollars for that box!! WOW I saw at least ten cards that wear worth twice that by themselves. I would of scoop that box up as fast as I could get my wallet out.

you did better than I did....respect
I love you
Very nice
I was thinking a 1979 Pirates ball.
Absolutely worth $500, in my opinion. The Vets that I work with LOVE watch you, and your brothers videos. The cards you have are AMAZING! 🇺🇸
You made a killing. Those cards are beautiful vintage cards. I have no doubt that several of those cards would sell for $500. each. Nice purchase. Thanks for sharing. Very exciting. Jeff
Nice pickup for $500! Can’t go wrong with all of the HOF’ers!
Absolute score on this box. I'm only 8 minutes into the video and you've probably pulled 2+ Grand worth of cards already.
Straight up an worth thousands!
Those giant screw-downs were the original anti-theft device for cards. There's no way you're fitting that brick in your pocket 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣 it's like a ankle bracelet ( house arrest) 🫣😳🤷🏽♂️
In the 90's our pockets were bigger than now (we wore big baggy jeans) and we had cargo pants (they have a bunch of giant pockets), skating pants and shorts had big pockets too...

Especially those super tight jean pockets from the 80s to early 90s. Post 1993 jean pockets, maybe.
The people that stole couldn’t use a screwdriver anyways haha
Had a blast going through the box. Thank you for sharing. You for sure will make money on it and add to your PC. God bless you my friend
Great box, I would buy that all day for $500!! The 56 Mays is sweet, the 58 Williams all-star and the Mantles are all worth it
Excellent find my friend! The giant screw down cases are classic and bring back the memories...great video.
This is an awesome collection..so many great vintage cards...the great thing about opening in another location....another grand opening!!!
Holy hell man, that box was spectacular!! Love these kind of "finds"!!! Awesome video Jon...
Thanks Billy!

Imagine Dave Roberts making it to some pee wee baseball practice 🤔🤔 we all sucked in as much information as possible all season long
That box was crazy. Dream box. Love all the old cards and the mantles were pretty.
HIGHWAY ROBBERY at $500. I would have at least offered the guy $1000 just so I could sleep at night.
Love the 58s and 61s. Two of my favorite sets. Well worth $500. Hard to find old cards that aren't OC.
Hey I love the youtube community and how people show their passion and love to others such postive vibes
Nice Hank cards and beauty Yount!!!! LOVE the Clemente strips!!! Thanks!

Thanks for sharing!

That's a radical box, dude! I'd pay 500 for that for sure.
LOL! Just look at the thumbnail! I see Mr. Clemente & Mr. Mays slabs staring at me, lol! 100% worth $500- and congrats for really hitting a grand slam! Awesome!
Those are some awesome cards, bro! Those '58 All-Stars are excellent! Thanks for the show
Love this channel! I’ve collected baseball cards since the 80s! I always dreamed I would go to an antique store, swamp meet etc…… and find a big box of vintage cards, but never did !!!!! So cool!
Thanks for watching! I hope you come across a box like that someday soon!
Awesome box! Enjoyed the presentation! No 1959's. My favorite year. Still, lots of great cards! Thanks!
Nice score, and if someone tries to rob the store you could probably knock them unconscious with one of those screwdown holders lol
😂
Those bricks are always the sign of an unknowledgable collector. Hope you didn’t lose any taking them out of those death traps. FYI the Clemente stickers were a Giant Eagle giveaway in 1990.
It all depends how tight you tighten them and you should still use a sleeve
I'd keep all those cards in screwdowns! It's perfect just the way they are! 😍
I love it. Such a nostalgia trip. Nice cards.
Yeah, that Brooks Robinson card is ridiculous. It looks like he’s saying “awww mannnn, who farted!?” Lol
That Pee Wee Reese brings back some memories! I traded it for a Roger Staubach rookie in 1992. I miss it!
Yes, great box worth far more than you paid. Loved the Mantles!
I love the older cards!
Those Mantles alone generate more than $500 in value. I'd be elated with such a buy!
Yea, he under valued the box. The person probably had no idea what they had. Unreal
Great video Jon, thank ya sir! 🙏
Wow,you really find the deals.I couldn't make to your store on black Friday but hope to before the end of the year.
Awesome, hope to see you!
Carls card shop.. Carl and Sal loved it
Awesome collection score! I think one of the signatures on the Pirates ball is Bill Clinton 😁
Awesome haul there Jon. Definitely worth the payout
You lucky dog! Benefits of owning a card shop. Cheers to your come-up.
Well yeah, that 60 Mantle itself is prolly a $500 card….
Wow - good luck with relocation... amazing "bricks"!
holy molly. There is women on FB selling baseball cards of her deceased brother for $500 and they look to be bunch of 80's & 90's card. The person who sold this collection must have fallen out of their chair when they only got $500 for such old cards. Good on you for getting that deal.
All those brick size cases and, no brick sized cell 📱! Come on man😂 Awesome pick ups! Time for a PSA or SGC grading video....!
Wow, great buy Jon! Love those mantles. Though I love the 1983 Topps gwynn rookie. I can't get enough of that card.
Time to send them to sgc. Great looking cards. Those old screw downs are brutal tho on the surface. Good luck
Heat up the screwdowns with a hirdryer while removing so they are less likely to stick to screwdowns or u could habe paper loss at corners of they are screwed to tight
100% good deal for you. Mantle All-Star card looked great.
Definitely some nice vintage you got there and pretty good deal on them. Thanks for sharing.
Sweet !!
This is a sweet find!!!
You killed it on that deal. That 60 mantle is a banger.
Really sorry to hear about the water issue and all the damage it caused.
90% talking 10% showing thanks for sharing!
Great video, like always. Love your channel
maybe they did not put a infromation on the back of the cards so the Baseball Players sign the back not sure guesting.
I’ve had good luck with those screw downs in the past so I’m hoping for the best
@@thepastisalive Right on, man. I should've known if anyone has experience with those things, it'd be you, haha. Can't say it enough. Awesome haul, man. Some terrific gems in that box.
On the ball with R.J. Reynolds is former Pirates pitcher, Chris Green. Pitched a handful of games for the Pirates in 1984.
Nice video….The baseball looks like a 1977+ Pirates partial team ball…Dale Berra, Dave Roberts, Ronnie Sennett were a few others I could make out…Good luck with it….
If you paid 500.00 for these cards it
Was robbery. Lol. The seller clearly had
No clue. What a nice find
$500?!?! You should see the asking price of the collections around me, this is an awesome buy! Almost feel bad for the person who sold it to you. Good luck with the new location, hopefully you find a spot soon.
It only took you 3 cards to beat that 500 dollar number. Great find.
Wow, just wow!

This wasn’t a home run… it was a grand slam!!
AWESOME COLLECTION
I believe I will just use you as my 401k and give you all my retirement money to buy cards. You find some of the best deals I’ve ever seen.
😂
Box looks great from a distance
The screw down cases look better than a psa slab anyways.. nice find!
The autographs are in order you show them:
Rod scurry
Bert blyleven
Jim rooker
Ed ott
Enrique romo ( you thought was canseco lol)
John candelaria
Bill Robinson
Kent tekulve
Don Robinson
Chuck tanner
Andy hassler
Dale Berra
John milner
Willie stargell
Dave Roberts
Joe lonnett
Hope that helps. I'm assuming it's from the 1980 season since Andy hassler is on there I collect autographs by the way lol so it was easy to figure them out
Major thanks for going through and identifying all those! That’s a huge help.
Before I watch the video, I want to remind you as I have been reminded... The Children (of the corn) may be watching.. 😱
awesome find!!!
I definitely would have bought it for the Mantles. Everything else is gravy.
I love the vintage!!
Holy Lucite! Nice haul Jon 👌
MIght be interesting with the recession hitting. People back to buying the basics. May have to sit on them for awhile.
Great deal Man!! I wound have paid twice that much for that collection!! Well done
Great box! Definitely worth the 500. Really enjoyed the video.
That '62 Mantle was nice. That was a great box of cards to make a deal on
Love this.
That ball looks to be from the 1979 pirates team
Whoever sold you that box got so vamboozled.
Worth it for sure. I saw Dale Berra in there
Love the Mikey Mantles ! But all are wonderful great buy for sure .
Don't send them to psa. Them screw down bricks kind of have some issues. they tend to say their altered... But that was a score !! Very cool box of vintage love
Woowww!!!!!! You got GOLD!!!
With Blyleven and Stargell on that ball its probably a pirates team from the late 70s or early 80s
That's what I was thinking 78-80 instead of Canseco I was thinking Candeleria
You guys are definitely right. Was thinking 79 or 80 Pirates
I have a Roberto Clemente card in one of those thick plastic screw downs. I don’t know what year it is. I’m closing out my safety deposit box next week. Im so jealous of the Mantle 60 topps!
some great cards in there
Those bricks were amazing in the 90s 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Very cool video! Did you get any of these graded and if so, perhaps another video showing the results would be cool. Also, why do the screw downs devalue the card and how do the grading companies know they were in those cases?

I would definitely buy that for $500 good for you great video too
Great cards, but the screw downs would worry me. I've had some bad luck with those in the past. Good luck man!
Congrats on the Charlie Sheen rookie auto
Can we all agree the original owner of this amazing collection would have not sold it for 500 bucks
Exactly. It's all about getting views and comments. I don't know anyone that would sell that box for 500.
Yep, not even close. That was a phenomenal collection by someone that meticulously targeted these gems over time.
He wished he paid 500, although a couple look like reprints
@@mycodclipz9754 I'm not hating on the guy but clearly he's misleading viewers to make that $.
Unless he bought from a dementia patient. And that is just stealing.
ball with Blyleven could 1978 , 1979, or 1980. Milner was on all those teams too
You only paid 500 dollars for that box!! WOW I saw at least ten cards that wear worth twice that by themselves. I would of scoop that box up as fast as I could get my wallet out.
What a weird assortment of junk wax to be mixed in there in the end! Lol
