These videos just put me in a special kind of happy place, just so peaceful and calming. Much love, Xander, and thank-you for taking us on your adventures!
Dude, your videos have inspired me back out in the woods man. I don't know why I stopped, but your adventures have reminded me of the magic that camping has. Thank you.
It's great to see you get spoiled for a change. You didn't have to cook, chop wood, build a fire, and do everything else by yourself. You deserve to be pampered every now and then, lol. This was so enjoyable to watch, you're an awesome guy bro 👏💯✌
When I travel to my favorite camping spot, I take my fiberglass canoe, two paddles, camping gear and food to stay for two weeks alone. I register at the ranger station, unload my canoe and gear and take off. Two portages later I'm at my destination. I unload my gear, including my canvas tent and pull my canoe half-way up the hill out of the lake. I pull my duffle bag of food up into a tree on a rope. It is my understanding that putting your food up into a tree limb is a rule in many wilderness areas around The Great Lakes region. It just make sense to sleep as far away from your food as possible in bear country. I like to visit this area in the early Spring of the year. Less people are around then. Many times, I've spent the entire two weeks without seeing anyone else. Solitude restores my soul. I'm an old man of 65 now, yet, those good memories of spending time there remain.
Thanks for sharing - we often Haul our food in bags up in trees. in the food barrels sometimes we just leave them, especially in more remote areas where the bears are scared of humans. I enjoyed reading your comment, thank you
I did this exact trip in 1989 and it brought back memories! I see you used a lot of dehydrated food. Just imagine if you could have dehydrated water! It would weigh nothing at all and you would just have to add water and voila, you could drink!! 😁
Hey Xander! I am a twin, our parents have camped for years and we are truly falling in love with it, especially bushcraft. We plan to do exactly what you and Max do, I've looked at your list of gear I don't know how many times. We want to get this ball rollin'. Whether it be a video or a brief moment of a video, could you cover the planning of your trips? (location, portages, sites, etc.) Keep doin' what you're doin' brother! Love it.
Absolutely amazing scenery, reminds me so much of Finnish wilderness. Ive always wondered why is the north american/canadian woods and animals so similar to Finland's which is across the freaking Atlantic on a different continent. Great video and awesome journey!
It's currently nearly 11pm in the UK. I started this video and I thought, "I'll just watch the first 10 minutes and I'll go to bed." Here I am an hour later, I've watched it all. A really well-made, informative and funny video. Well done and thank you!
Been watching a lot of your videos lately. Gotta say I really love how you always act so positive and your random acts of childlike joy, like the bit of swimming in the rapids. Awesome stuff, great humor as well.
Ahahahahaaa! you're impression of a salmon running up the falls was AWESOME!!!! Those waterfalls coming off the riverbanks were amazingly beautiful!! Great adventure, great video! Thanks for sharing.
I celebrate you found your Zen and are clean and sober, you are a great inspiration and role model. Love your video's and skilled cinematography. You have a talent to relate to others, a gift to inspirer and are a gifted special person, peace be with you.

I love the Canadian wild😍😍can't get enough of it 😍😍we don't have such forrests in Germany. Could be because Germany is too tiny to have such big areas of wilderness. All forrests here are either commercially used or are national parks. So you can just camp on real camping places. No real chance to make big wilderness trips here where you are really alone. And making fire is a big no go in Germany either. Or in other words : the spots where you are aloud to make open fire are rare... Damn rare. 😞That's why I enjoy your videos so much. It's like I am there. I nearly can smell the fresh air and that warms my heart. Thank you for it. Really big thank you 😘🤗😍
