Welcome to my home state! Always, always, always wear sunscreen and reapply! We are closer to the equator and the sun so we burn faster and more brutally! Put in aloe Vera and nozema to cool it off. Mahalo for coming to my beautiful state!
@Kat Nesbitt so i got a spam commet from someone that had your profile pic on it and thought it was so weird because they saying about some contest and i never heard bout a contest on this video so i reported to youtube
I'm in my 40's and for some reason lately i've been wanting to get into this industry. I've been doing some research about flight attendants and what you all go through and i stumbled upon your channel. I absolutely love the content you share, it's informative and fun.
Lani: Everybody and their grandmother wants to be a flight attendant these days! It is certainly a wonderful job if you have a suger daddy to support you financially. It actually works well if you are already retired and have other source of income coming in aswell. Kate is an extremely upbeat woman and she truly makes flight attendant life seem unbeatable but the true reality is quite different especially depending on what airline you get into. Kate and her buddy probably spent lots of money in shopping and food in just her short layover. Yes, you do get free flying to different places on standby but you still have to spend money on your vacations which many flight attendants simply don't have any spare of. The good news is that airlines are NOT looking for good looks or good physiques any more in their applicants , you can be fat n ugly and still get the job along as you can get the safety belt around you belly. As you can see Kate's buddy is over weight and yet still ate good. Kate eats alot too! but still looks good. Gone are the days of good and sophisticated looking flight attendants. So yes, if you have the stamina and spare cash in hand , this could be a good job for you ! Good Luck!
This was awesome!!! I move to Maui in 1985 and moved back to NYC in 2010 I lived in Kihei and my children were born and raised there, I’m fortunate I git to go back twice a year and stay with my daughter. My daughters childhood friends own 3s restaurant and Kihei Caffe is a must people get turned off by the long line but like you said it goes quickly and worth standing on line.
Love the video. I work for another carrier and we stay at that hotel, too. I was just there a few weeks ago. There’s a health food store down the road that makes great açaí bowls. The Foodland grocery store has the best salt and vinegar chicken wings and shoyu chicken. Try their kimchi cucumbers, edamame, poke, and Maui onion potato chips. Just avoid whole avocados, apples, oranges, packaged salads are okay, guacamole, carrots, celery, and lots more are okay to clear agriculture. Just the fresh fruits are really the issue. Pineapple and coconuts are okay. I’ve taken many whole pineapples home. Not a red eye fan! Enjoyed your video.
So fun to see you in Maui. I have stayed at that same motel a few times . If you go back again eat at Fred's they have great breakfast and dinner. You can watch the sunset from there too.
Hawaii is beautiful we went a few years ago. The bird's and pigeons every where loved the ABC store's and they were all different we went to. You need aloe vera plant for your sun burn.
Aloha Kat! What brought me to your channel was I was also in Maui a day after you and did the exact route from DFW to OGG and back. 💺✈️ I also thought it was funny to see the feral chickens and roosters all over! 🌺🍍
For future reference, you can take anything off the island except: Sand, lava rocks (some TSA will make you put it back, Former HNL TSO so I know) fruits that are porous (pineapple and coconut are fine), and anything sacred is just bad juju. We mean it when we say the Island is alive. Also if you just buy it at the airport it's perfectly fine to take.
Kat, I had family who lived in Kihei for over 20+ years. My husband lived in Honolulu for a year or so as he immigrated from Hong Kong to the US. I have always wanted to go to Hawaii, but have never been (I'm almost 58). After watching this, I need to put it on my bucket list....and soon!
So glad the hot mess express made it to Hawaii. My wife and I just came back from vacationing on Oahu. It was my best vacation ever. You and your husband should go there. I enjoyed the roosters as well. The birds and flora was breathtaking. If you ever make it to the north shore there's an amazing coffee spot sits right on a coffee bean farm. Anyway I'm sorry about your skin. I hope it feels better. Take care. Oh it's my 50th birthday!!
Maui is one of my favorite islands! So happy you went. I actually think I've been to Three's, a super long time ago, and you know I think you girls were sat in the exact spot that my family and I were. How crazy 🤪
I just went to Hawaii for the first time back in December. It was beautiful. Went to Waikiki and actually enjoyed going away from the city better. Yes chickens and roosters were everywhere
I have been to hawaii a few times, it is absolutely beautiful! I've been to Maui, Hilo and Kauai. I have also visited Pearl Harbor. It was an amazing experience. Everyone should go at least once. I cannot wait to go again soon.
It's not as expensive as people think, I lived there (Kalihi Valley and Aiea). Honestly, the flight is cheap and if you operate like a local you barely spend much and it's a more fulfilling experience.
Bactine liquid spritz is the best for sunburns! Takes the pain out and heals the skin so much faster. I like to put it in the fridge or cooler before using. Glad you got to see a little bit of Hawaii! 🏝🏝
I worked a 5hour cross country trip had a 14ish day rest then red eye home…. Omg it was a long day lol I slept all day and that night when I returned home
Foodland does a poke bowl that's pretty cheap and fresh and macadamia flavored coffee is pretty popping and cheap at that grocery store. I usually take one with me for the redeye home. I do love the fried rice musubi from the ABC store and even some of the sushi is pretty good. Also, security is only picky with fresh fruit if it's sealed and prepackaged or prepared they don't take it. But if it's like an apple... they take it. I haven't done it yet but if you're interested there's a volcano hike for sunrise but it's on the other side of the island from where you're staying and I'd probably book it way in advance to arrange transport to that side from Kihei. The road to Hana is also in Maui but that's gonna have to be if you plan to go without the work time crunch. So happy you were able to enjoy Maui, it's my favorite island.
I am flying for the first time since finding your videos. Should I have gifts for all the attendants? How do I find out how many attendants will be on the flights?
Maui is my favorite. Just a nice mix of plenty to do, time to relax, nice hotels and beaches, but not as frantic as Oahu. I used to go to a retreat on Maui every year. That was heaven.
@@ammansyed It's been a long time. It was Betty Bethard's Inner Light Foundation. It was held at Haiku Gardens up on the mountain past Paia and Makawao. It was a very different place than what it is now from the looks of it. It was much more rustic. Thinking ownership changes and there was remodeling done?
Lots of aloe vera on that skin. I mean by now I'm sure you're all healed up right? lol Hawaii is our place to go for our honeymoon that we never had and hope to go for our 20 year anniversary in 2 years. Glad you enjoyed your trip.
The nails3: Please remember that flight attendants these days don't work nearly as much as the flight attendants of the past did when they actually served hot meals on domestic flights. The job is infinitely easier now than it used to be which is why you see most of the flight attendants now over weight as they get to eat alot of of the unhealthy fattening foods at the airports and get very little physical exertion on board. That is the reason why they have the stamina , the job really isnt that hard any more which is quite apparent when you look at the flight attendants these days........they all seem to need exercise and lots of it.
Wow, do I ever miss those OGG and HNL layovers. I flew this all the time on international out of SFO. However, in OGG, we laid over 30 hours at a resort in Wailea, which is gorgeous and full of honeymooners. Short layovers were in Kihei. Non-reving, I like Kaua'i, though. You definitely pinch yourself when you fly internationally because you realize you have the best job in the world.
I know this sounds weird, but a vinegar bath for sunburns helps. The acid in the vinegar neutralizes the acid from the sunburn. Or an oatmeal bath works too.
Aloha Kat, Lather aloe/after Sun care lotion/cream over your sunburn often in a day. If u have access to Infinite Aloe product, it works wonders for sunburned skin. Repetitive application as soon as ur sunburned helps with minimizing redness & burnt feeling. Will warn though, it will sting at first application if skin is scorched majah 🤙🏽
There are only a handful of places I’ve been that have left and imprint on my heart and Maui is one of them. I was so excited to see your vlog and time there! And what better way to enjoy it than with a friend! Thank you for sharing!

The next time your in London, go to marks and spencer and buy the coffee walnut cake - it’s in the bakery in a box - it’s less than £4 for the whole cake but very good. It’s one walnut on top.
