One of the things I love about you and your lovely family's content is how real and raw y'all are esp Mom and Dad with your emotions. Thank you for being human and real and for taking us along in your journey. I relate to the emotions and the stress of non-reving as an airline retiree myself and it just makes me appreciate and enjoy your videos even more. Thank you and Merry Christmas to you and the Family. Much Alofa!!!
My dad was a pilot. I miss him. We flew standby everytime, and i miss it so much, and i miss my dad. He was a lucky guy he flew military and commercial 40 years. Flew from doubledecker spitfire f84g then 727 747 airbuses and all. He was very silent though, and i see those videos to feel closer to those times. I am not entitled to flying standby anymore, company of dad closed, so that s cks completely. My dad didnt feel like taking us journeys though he wanted to just be at home, he played violin amazingly. You are doing a great job showing your kids the world. Later on there will be no time. I remember flying in cockpit on my moms lap me and my sister all 3 on the jump seat for a 30‘ flight where dad was flying .(city to island).
I'm getting old. When I saw Paul get emotional I also got emotional. "I'm not crying you're crying". I love the vulnerability shown by Paul. It made the video more moving.
Absolutely fantastic. What an amazing pillar of strength and an example of a father husband and human being you are. Just because you are a man doesn’t mean that you can’t show your feeling. It also shows your family that emotions are normal and not to hide them. My 14 year old son is wanting to start a career as a pilot. What a role model. Beautiful family!!
Paul, don’t ever change anything about how you edit and produce your videos. So genuine and exciting to see the adventure. Congrats on the success of the channel. Merry Christmas!
I don’t know why you getting emotional when you got your seats made me emotional! Such a feel good video, your kids are so lucky to have such an awesome dad. Thank you for sharing!
As a member of an airline family trips like these are never forgotten. Personally it was trips like these that taught me exactly how small our planet really is, it opened up my eyes to different people, cultures, and ways of life. Thank you for using your benefits, and sharing them in such a meaningful way with your family. Safe travels!
Being an Airline Retiree of 34 years, this was one feel good video! Thank you Paul for sharing the adventure of the families first time in Asia with the rest of us!
I think it is impossible not to shed a tear or two in this video, I know I did! Paul...Amazing content as always! I am a Dentist whose childhood dream and passion was to become a pilot. Regardless of my current occupation which I absolutely love, I have always known I would end up in the skies someday and not just as a passenger. You have inspired me to pursue my dream of becoming a pilot which I will soon see it through. As I soar the skies, there will always be a cloud or a star with your name on it for inspiration. God bless you and your wonderful family Paul, thank you for the genuine heartfelt content!
Last year our multigenerational family spent two weeks in Japan. Seeing our kids experience Asia with grandma is something I will never forget. Our 12 year old cried when we headed home. He absolutely loved it. ❤
The most raw footage of a 'real aviation embedded family's' travel plans / trip. I've got my own standby adventure to vietnam come the start of January and this has got me more excited than all the perfectly put together itineraries etc
So many great moments, feelings and emotions in this video. Everyone being themselves, kids being kids, adults valuing a true friendship, celebrating love and you capturing it all. Your content is always such a pick me up moment for me. Thanks for keeping it up!
I have aerophobia and watching your RUclips chanel has calm me down a lot. I am from Vietnam and I will travel back home to see my family on Dec 28th. Im so happy to see you in my home country. Im from Ha Noi as well. Hope you have a wonderful trip with your family!
This video brought back great memories. We were in Vietnam this past September and loved it. I’m a retired airline employee and we chose to fly confirmed all the way. I give you credit for pass riding with the family. I find your videos not only fun but informative. But this one was by far my favorite. Thank you for sharing your journey and reminding me why we really need to go back to Vietnam.
Thank you for sharing your family adventure. I worked through out Asia for many years, so your video brought back memories. Your kids will be people of the world.
Just so very wonderful. I want to share something: Your videos and your sentiments are so sorely needed in today's world.... to see something mean that much... and meaningful enough in a world "safe enough to express that" is so touching and so treasured. Yes, I'm a plane enthusiast; but your videos are so special as I get to 'live vicariously' thru them. Happy Holidays to you and yours. I have a cold confession: I had visions of military police and just "coldness" .... wow, such a treat. Thanks again for sharing.
Don’t stop showing your feelings in front of your kids ❤. I suscribed because of your videos but now there’s another reason, you have a big and kind heart Paul! Greetings from this Dominican lady living in the Bronx, NY!
You guys are great parents and your children are fortunate to have you. I never had any opportunities even approaching that as a kid. Keep enjoying life!
Love the objective to bring your kids to all continents - it is so important for them to learn to embrace the world and its cultures. Thank you for a great video.
I totally understand the stress of standby! We use it a lot for our family travels and it is horrible when the open seats are low and you just don’t know! Glad it all worked out for you all!
Thank you for posting such a personal video. A lot of men wouldn’t post a video where they cry. I have a much greater appreciation of you after today. I loved your videos before but now I am even more excited to see your next.
I love ur videos as it shows planes n flying n things how planes n airlines work n the best part are the destinations you show doing things in the countries n towns u visit from work to vacations n ur friends n family not many RUclipsrs do this. I love it thank you.
As a Vietnamese I’m so so happy to see how you and your family enjoyed the trip with lots of memorial and special moments. Wish you and your family all the bests and hope to see your another trip to Vietnam soon ☺️
I don’t have children myself but I let my nephews watch your videos because you share family values and experiences over materialism items. Thank you for sharing your life and teaching my nephews different cultures.
I absolutely love your videos Paul, not just because I’m also a pilot and myself and my family love to travel, but because you show genuine emotions. Thank you for not editing out scenes where you show true feelings, and teach your children that it’s ok to have feelings and express them. Blue skies and tail winds Sir.
Thank you Paul for all the adventures you take us on. I love the real unscripted emotion you show in all your videos. Looking so forward to your next adventures.
I originally subscribed because of your aviation content, but your channel became so much more. This is the most wholesome and inspiring channel i subscribe to, and I strive to be just like and have a wonderful family like yours. Please know you have made a positive influence in the world with your videos.
Happy Anniversary Celebration to you and your wife!!😊😊 Also, that was really nice to take the kids on this beautiful trip. Wow, that train is so so close to you and the people in that village there!!!!😅😅 That looked very very nice seeing close friends who live a good distance away from you & the family. Nice!!!😅😅 That was a great trip!!!😊😊 Thank you for sharing.😊
My father was an aircraft mechanic for TWA and then American when they got bought over. Non revving was always so nerve racking, and although a lot of times I remember being bored, I always enjoyed the adventure of going somewhere and especially looking at the planes from the gate. We mostly went to Mexico, but I was fortunate enough to go to Italy and France on a couple of occasions as a kid. Fast forward 25 or so years and I left my former career in public safety and bumped right back into the world of airplanes again. I just hit my year mark with an airline as a ramp agent and have non reved 12 trips. I’m hoping to grow in this industry although I am not sure which direction it may take me. I had a medical situation that I’ve been dealing with recovery for the last couple of months but am hoping to see if I can pass a first class medical in the near future to see if flying might be a viable path. Thank you for sharing your experience I hope to some day see Vietnam.
Beautiful video Paul, and making me super excited for my trip to Hanoi in January! Thanks for taking the time to capture your travels. Love to see you exposing your kids to the wider world and opening them up to different cultures too 👍
I hope you're able to read many of your comments. I had watched this video when you first posted it and found it so inspiring. I was surprised to then see you mention that it was one of the lesser-viewed videos of the year. When I watched this, I was thinking that this completely captured how your "passion is encouraging you to explore this beautiful world." And no better way than with your family. I'm a pediatrician but started watching your channel out of an aviation interest. This video, though, inspires me for my own journeys. Fittingly, my partner is Vietnamese and so I have a number of upcoming explorations there.
This is amazing Paul! My parents did the same to my brothers and I growing up. They wanted us to experience the world and culture and to truly appreciate how diverse we all are. Kudos to you and your wife for doing this. I am certain your kids will appreciate it even more when they are older. Greetings from Canada (Greg)
I have been checking RUclips for a new video regularly and watched your old ones over again. When I saw this post I was genuinely excited to watch your latest adventure. I'm past the 1000 hour mark and would love to fly right-seat with you some day and hear some of your stories. Keep up the solid work!! I'll see you on your next layover!!
One of your best videos yet because not only did you show another great adventure but they mean nothing without the people you are with. Glad you got to see your friends.
That wet market was a great experience for the kids and adults. It's gives you an understanding of where your food comes from. Going to a working farm is another important adventure everyone should take.
Besides all the cool travel destinations and experiences you generously share with us, I really appreciate your videos because you're not afraid to show your emotions on camera. Thank you for setting a good example that it's okay for guys to cry sometimes.
Super cool that you get to spend that amazing time with your friends and especially your family. I love how you are not afraid to have fun and show your emotion with your kids. Awesome! Loved the video.
As a fellow pilot and non-rev risk taker, I almost cried when you got called for your seats out of SFO 🤣🤣🤣. Yesss I love happy non-rev & commuting stories!
Happy Anniversary guys. One of the most special, incredible emotional videos. Made me happy cry. So excited for you. Have an awesome time. Enjoy. Safe travels. Love you all. Signed, a fellow Twin Citiyan. PS: Paul the look on your face as the train passed by you - priceless. ❤❤
I lived in Vietnam from April of 66 to December of 67 at ChuLai Marine Corp air base. Amazing how they came back and rebuild and the people are so friendly.
Paul, I appreciate your videos and the opportunity to see the world through your lens...It's always a pleasure. Thanks for showing the beauty in the the places you visit, never ordinary...extraordinary. Keep them coming. Blessings Brother!
I too was supposed to go to Vietnam in 2020 to celbrate my 40th birthday. It was a lifelong dream to travel there. Between the pandemic and needing 3 surgeries in 2020 my trip was delayed too. I finally made it there last year and it was awesome. Thanks for sharing your trip!
As a soon to be airline pilot I love your videos. But most importantly I love the authenticity and raw emotion on display. Although I appreciate the airline content the family content brings it home for me…
Hi Paul, Thank you for taking us along on your family’s adventure to Asia. I am currently looking to travel to South Korea and Hong Kong for the first time time in 2024. It is so neat to see the fun things that you and your family do. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, your family and Ashley & Kent! Ken
You may be a great pilot- I have never flown with you that I know of. But you are an amazing Dad. Keep it up. Your kids will cherish these memories forever.
Always love you content! I have two boys that are 4 and 2. I cannot wait until they are old enough to travel and enjoy the world like you do with your family. I applaud you for introducing different cultures to your children. It is a very rare opportunity for kids to explore the world.
Thanks for adding Vietnam to my must see list. Spent a few years of my youth hoping not to go there. Wife and I are 30and 20 year United retirees. We know well the triumphs and disappointments of standby travel. We’ve managed to see many of the destinations you’ve visited and enjoyed them all. Thanks for the great videos and happy holidays to you and your family
This might be one of my favorite videos you have done. I'm so glad you are giving your children the opportunity to explore many different cultures. I don't think I will ever forget the sights and sounds of the markets in Vietnam. I spent about 3 weeks in Hanoi and a week in Ho Chi Minh City when we adopted our son. I love everything about Vietnam and hope to travel back one day soon.
Just found your channel. I love your philosophy of exposing your kids to travel early in their lives. If more people traveled and learned about other cultures in the world, we would have less problems here at home.
So thankful for you and your family sharing your adventures. My husband was a mechanic for united airlines and we were able to take small adventures and we loved it. Wishing you and your family many blessings and a happiest new year
I laughed. My wife always forgets our anniversary for almost 50 years now. ROTFL. You are a great family. Oh, and I had a bit of a different experience of Vietnam. Anyway, have a Merry Christmas. My best to all of you. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures.
Paul, I love love love your videos! I was flying standby when my kids were the same age as your kids. It brings back so many great memories. My palms still sweat when I see you waiting waiting to make the flight. Thank you for making fun, upbeat, positive videos. They always make my day 🙂
Your trips solo or with family are full of wonder. I feel I’m right there seeing these places too. When I was young travel in my family together was not affordable. My dad later in his career travelled a lot. He’d come home with stories and experiences we could only dream about. My mom made the biggest sacrifice. She was home with us knowing fully well she might have wanted this adventure too. I married a super adventurous guy and we have 2 , 13 yr olds. He would say when they were babies that he’d take them to wonderous places. Fast forward travelling with them is not always fun. When one is up for one thing the other shuts down. And we seem to be on a roller coaster of ups and does. This puts a lot of stress on what we thought was pretty adventurous trip there are things that have improved like the long drives, and the hecticness. They don’t really complain. But doing the same thing is still an issue. In the bloopers it was good to see you too have challenges. Especially when their enthusiasm doesn’t match ours.
Truly perfect story telling (life telling)

Don’t you love the feeling when you think your not going to get a seat and the gate agent calls your name. Love your emotion.
One time I was in that situation love that feeling much love from the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴
Being an Airline Retiree of 34 years, this was one feel good video! Thank you Paul for sharing the adventure of the families first time in Asia with the rest of us!

Your family seemed to be genuinely having so much fun especially with the train cafe, i found myself smiling while watching.
Last year our multigenerational family spent two weeks in Japan. Seeing our kids experience Asia with grandma is something I will never forget. Our 12 year old cried when we headed home. He absolutely loved it. ❤

Really fun video. Brought back memories of travelling with my family as a kid.
Love the fact that you didn't edit out your true emotions. Takes a lot to show raw emotion to the world. Well done and thanks again for the content

this may be the cutest family in the history of the world
Paul…if everyone was as kind and as loving and as genuine as you, our world would be so much better.
God Bless you and your family!
Beautiful family & treated so well, great Dad.
Love to see you exposing your kids to the wider world and opening them up to different cultures too 👍
Thank you for being you… human ❤️❤️❤️
I hope you're able to read many of your comments. I had watched this video when you first posted it and found it so inspiring. I was surprised to then see you mention that it was one of the lesser-viewed videos of the year. When I watched this, I was thinking that this completely captured how your "passion is encouraging you to explore this beautiful world." And no better way than with your family. I'm a pediatrician but started watching your channel out of an aviation interest. This video, though, inspires me for my own journeys. Fittingly, my partner is Vietnamese and so I have a number of upcoming explorations there.
Thank you for your videos.showing the real side of who you are with the emotions sometimes, the laughter really enjoy your videos
I absolutly love your video's. Being unable to travel currently I get to explore so many places through your video's.

I've watched several of your videos and this one is my favorite. So many sweet and genuine moments. Thank you for sharing your family with us!
That Train experience looked exhilarating.
So thankful for you and your family sharing your adventures. My husband was a mechanic for united airlines and we were able to take small adventures and we loved it. Wishing you and your family many blessings and a happiest new year

Thanks for taking us along & sharing your family!
What a cool dad and a great family
Best vid I have watched in 2023, thanks.
I laughed. My wife always forgets our anniversary for almost 50 years now. ROTFL. You are a great family. Oh, and I had a bit of a different experience of Vietnam. Anyway, have a Merry Christmas. My best to all of you. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures.
This video was very emotional, in a good way. You have a beautiful family and I wish ya'll well.
Wow ! Paul once again knocked it out of the park. Another inspiring video to just get out no matter where you’re at.
