Dude thanks for your book recommendation! Just got the audiobook. I have a flight coming up in January. I have flown before but this is the first time completely alone.
I appreciate your story. I missed menu opportunities adventure, because of the fear flying. I faced my fear with the help of meds to see my mother who had an accident at home and was alone. But I want to travel. The meds only help me to avoid panic attacks.
Appreciate the stories!! I swear, i went through the same journey you did. I was young, went on a plane, no worries! As an adult, i thought it was gonna be easy. Then i felt the feelings of take off, plane turning, started to overthink the whole process and what was happening. Then it made flying fearful for me. Its not the plane crashing i worry about, its the noises and the feelings and the thought of “holy crap, if i want to step outside and stretch my legs…I cant” then i feel trapped and even more anxious lol
So happy I found this video as this is almost my EXACT story! I have been flying multiple times a year since the age of 7, even turbulence never phased me, cue to my mid 30s where we had a bit of a rough time landing at Gatwick and ever since I have been terrified of flying, to the point where I get severe anxiety weeks before I'm due to even board a plane! It's upsetting because I was never scared for the majority of my life then one ( pretty minor ) incident changes everything! All the coverage on Boeing and what happened with the Brazil flight earlier this year and Yeti Airways last year don't help either.
I appreciate your words of encouragement. I am taking a flight on November 3rd from South Dakota to Florida. I just flew from FL to SD last year, so I am honestly surprised I am really scared, but you helped with those fears and I appreciate it. Because now I have tools that can help me enjoy the flight. Thank you!
I'm going through this journey right now! I just read SOAR, and i have my British Airways fear of flying course with flight on Saturday. Also my channel is at the same stage of growth as yours! Thanks for the video. Best of luck!
We literally have the SAME story (Alex) around flying!! I'll be checking out that book, it sounds great. Chris on the other hand completely loves flying and has zero stress in the world around it...
Im in the same boat. Bought the book and hopefully will have the same outcome. Liked and subscribed. Im a big Disney buff and my brother is an Imagineer.
I’m starting to fly more often now days and I always get super anxious about it, I think inexperienced the same stuff as you did but I was to afraid to even think about crashing haha, my mind was like, what is this sound, and that one, and that one, I wanted to medicate myself for my next flight but this video encouraged me not to
What about those Max's that fell out of the sky? Thanks for the video. My story is the same as yours and I still have to fly every now and then. I'm always petrified for a few weeks before each flight. I've also had some really bad flights, I remember even asking a flight attendant if it was normal for the route to be so turbulent, she looked scared and said it was her first time on this route... didn't help my fears!! :( I'm flying again in 2 days.. sigh. This time, the transfer is on a tiny 104 seat airplane and I'm terrified.
Plane isnt really slowing down when you get that feeling. Its just the rate of acceleration gets reduced and plane flattens out so you go back on throttle but you are still going just as fast if not faster.
From reading the book they can still crash but cannot literally just fall out of the sky. I didn’t dig deeper as the explanation was good enough to get me over my fears.
They stalled the plane. They rarely happens but its if its going too slow or they put nose up too much at low engine power. Most of these stories are from pooper countries with less strict airlines. Our US airlines are a lot more safer. Plus theres been a lot of other safety systems built into planes to prevent this from happening and lots of alerts are given to pilot if aircraft might stall

It’s one of the best self help books I’ve purchased!!
This is great! Thank you for sharing your story and tips… I think there’s a lot of people out there that can relate to this.
@@cheerstothemagic I hope so! I didn’t travel for such a long time and missed out on some great opportunities because of my fear.

You can 1000% drink on that medication. It’s not going to hurt you, but make you pretty tipsy
@@Ear_Wagle yeah I tried once and didn’t like the way I felt.

This is a great story and all but I was expecting to hear how Soarin’ helped you overcome your fear of flying
@@wesleytacker dude it use to get to me.
But it always feels like I’m falling backwards. Not just for a second. But for the whole flight

If it is impossible for it to fall down, how come some have actually fallen down 😢
Last one I heard of the Brazilian one ... A nightmare
