They may not now but they will. I grew up in an airline family and while I didn’t appreciate the places my parents took us too at the time (old museums, landmarks, battlegrounds) as I got older it was amazing to think back on all the things that I saw in real life that I eventually would read and study growing up. And as the world has changed to be able to say you say this before xxx …
Exactly! I just pushed away my things to do at this moment, and exclaimed, “I’m going to a Rome with my favourite family on RUclips! ❤️💫 Thank you, Captain! 🫡 xx
Just did something similar myself last weekend, spontaneously non-revving to San Diego for a day trip. Then this weekend, going to DC with my parents. Non-rev travel is a whole different level of travel and im so grateful for it!
I worked for KLM in the late 70's and loved the fact that if you were appropriately dressed and space available, you were upgraded to 1st. I have watched your vlogs for a while now and it was nice to see you & your family enjoy the fruits of your labor.
I grew up with parents in the hotel business so similar situation to your kids. They took us all over the world when they traveled for business. It gave me a view of the world very different from that of my peers. I still tell my parents about the impact it had on me and thank them for not leaving me (and my siblings) behind. These experiences were better than any toy I was ever given. Just found your site and look forward to following your travels!
This is the coolest video I've ever seen. Thank you Paul for inspiring me to start my pilot Journey. I have my first lesson next week. The editing and work you do on these videos doesn't go unnoticed. Thank you for producing such fun beautiful content and what an awesome memory and experience with your family. Thanks so much for allowing us to see into your life.
I’m 56 years old….I remember my parents attending my school events and ALL the things we did together as a family. The “things” they purchased me; not so much!! This is AMAZING ❤
Your son is the absolute cutest! Love watching him in awe of his first Polaris experience. They are so blessed to have this kind of opportunity to travel!
I can speak from experience that your children will remember these experiences more than the materialistic things in their life. My now adult kids bring up our old trips all the time. Now they are doing this with their kids.
That line about collecting a story versus collecting possessions is so true. The greatest memories in life are about people and places, not stuff. P.S.- I would have picked Naples😂.
Hey Paul. Just want to say thanks for inspiring me to become a professional pilot. I’ve started my flight training now at 17. Watching from South Africa 🇿🇦
This was beautiful, Paul! Love to you and your family! I'll always cherish the trips abroad to visit my extended family in Europe as a young child...and the rides on a 747 and L-1011 in the 80s turned me into a total Av Geek at an early age!
I grew up with my dad being part of AA so I definitely know this feeling. Granted, we weren’t necessarily the most financial sound so never did Europe but got to explore a lot of the Spanish America and Caribbean. Didn’t grow up going to Disney in the summer but got to see countries like Chile and Argentina instead
You are so right about the memories vs stuff. In 2009 my parents took my family & my brother’s family to London & Scotland for 10 days. Our children, who are adults now still talk about that trip! My Mom said ‘our grandchildren are going to inherit memories’! The cousins are very close and my Mom couldn’t have said it any better ! Your kids will feel the same 💜
Been in over 350+ Flights as standby pax, Both on UA and DAL! The best time ever working for the airlines! 3 years and Counting as Ramp Crew! cannot wait to see where the Airlines Take me next!
I'm a retired flight dispatcher and used to non-rev quite a bit. It is a wonderful thing to be able to do. Unfortunately, my first day of retirement was April 1 of 2020 and my airline flew its last flight on April 7th. It went out of business due to COVID19. It was a regional airline and the major airlines we flew for took our airplanes away because they were reducing their flying system-wide. But at least I did it for a good long time and most people in this world never get to do it ... ever.
Just did my first solo XC earlier this evening, thanks for the inspiration and thanks for the wholesome content. Always a joy to be able to appreciate the effort you put in to these. Keep it up!
Congrats! I did mine last year. My first solo didn't bother me at all, even despite mechanical problems on my first solo lap. It was just 'another day at the office'. I did my XC without a problem to a town in the middle of nowhere with no real reference points on the ground, no problem. BUT, for some reason I was very nervous about the long XC. KSPG probably wasn't the best choice for this, with 4* glide slopes that drop you in over the tops of buildings on one runway, across the non-descript water on the other 3. Runways half the distance of what I'm used to, oh...and the PAPIs AND ILS were inop that day. Lucky me. Gusty & variable winds. Did I mention gusty with a crosswind? I came in too high on the first attempt, went around and had a reasonable landing for the second. After I landed and was still on the runway, tower sequenced the next aircraft to the other, longer runway due to the winds. Thanks tower! The flight home was uneventful.
Thank you so much for this amazing content! I’m from the Midwest as well (Michigan) and I just met a pilot online. I’m a huge fan of the family values that you have and how you are able to do quality time with the family. It’s my love language, and so I appreciate you showing how a pilot can do quality time with his family. I’m also a HUGE fan of your wife’s silver plane charm necklace! 😍 was that a gift by any chance?
My husband is an airline pilot and I hear all these women complain about their schedule but the beauty is we get to show our kids the world. Our kids have been to Europe 5 times in the last few years. Have flown first class multiple times! They are so blessed. We went to italy last summer and my daughter is learning about the Vatican and the Sistine chapel and she can say she’s been there! My kids also read in school the hiding place about how Corrie ten boom hid jews in her house and last December we took our kids out of school to fly to Amsterdam and Germany to go to the Corrie ten boom house and the Christmas markets. It makes history come to life! So thankful for flight benefits!!
I used to get flight bennies working for a regional airline. My greatest adventure was when I got bumped in Pocatello, Idaho where I spent the whole day in and around the airport.
Captain Paul you are creating some amazing memories for your kids that they will be sharing with your future grandkids. What a fabulous family, a true blessing. I hope to see you on one of my flights out of Newark soon!👌👏👏👏👏
Thank you for giving us a glimpse into your trip. The excitement of your son was so precious, and I love what a good sport your daughter is. And yay for Fanta that isn’t glowing neon orange! 😅 I love you channel - you videos played a huge role in me overcoming my flight anxiety that came out of nowhere a few years ago. I have since taken nine of my kids to Europe for a month this summer, and I’m going back with four of them in early December for 10 days to tour Christmas markets in Germany - and flying United! You have no idea how much of a part your videos had in that! Thank you! 🙏
That was awesome. I’m in the process of trying to determine what flight academy program to apply too - your videos have been an inspiration over the years. 👍🏽
I love how you and your Family are Living Your Best Lives. I love how adventurous your entire family and your kids are amazing. Thank you for sharing all of this with us all.
I have many fond memories of flying space available as a family. My dad also took each of us individually on flights he was working a few times. We were a family of 6 so it was a nail biter at times! ✈️
Love the video! My dad was ramp service out of ORD. He has since passed away, but growing up I had plenty of memories in hotel rooms huddled around a laptop figuring out if we'll get home. Awesome to see that you're making the same memories with you kids!
We have a similar view to our kids having experiences. Every year for Xmas we have one big family experience present. Our kids have been hot air ballooning, skydiving, travelled nationally/internationally, concerts and heaps of others. Now the kids are older they can’t remember what toys and gifts they got but the remember every single experience they had. Experiences and adventures are far better than toys and screens.
Your best video yet. I got emotional hearing your closing comments regarding your children. I share that sentiment and hope my two little boys enjoy similar experiences that theyll carry with them all their lives. Next time youre posted to Edinburgh, let me know! Keep the content coming!
Paul, I love your videos!! This one takes me back to when I was a kid. I remember flights where my parents would count the number of people boarding a flight so they would know if they would make it!!! Didn't happen all the time, but a lot! We lived one mile due west of SFO and as we would drive by the airport, my mom would say, "there goes a plane and I'm not on it!!"
Your kids will always remember these moments. Your family is blessed to have you as their father and husband. I love your channel! thanks for showing us the beauty of humanity.
BRAND NEW SUBSCRIBER! What an awesome channel. Non-Rev has got to be the best perk of working for an airline (here in the UK, we don't really have it the same, as the US Carriers) After 18 years as a flight attendant, I would often arrive at the airport with no destination in mind and just go. Friends barely left the city on days off, I flew all over Europe for practically free! Keep up the great work, and best wishes from here in Liverpool, England.
LOVE it!! I love spontaneous trips. What wonderful memories!! Thank you for sharing! I know you put a lot in these videos, but ohh, how I'd love to see even more! 😊
Hi Paul, I do not know how I missed this one when it came out, what a fun trip to take the family on. You are so right about collecting experiences over things, That has been my approach for the past 12 years and I am so happy about it. Cannot wait to do more travel and to collect more in the future! And to see yours and you family’s adventures, thanks for taking us along! Ken
I’ve been watching your content for about a year and am SO impressed by your stories and your zest for life. Truly inspirational. I keep wondering when your channel will blow up to 1M viewers because your content is THAT good.
Last easter we went to Geneva. My son in law is a pilot on the 787. We drove to YUL. He looked at the loads and bingo on our way to Geneva in Business class. Easter Monday we returned again in Business. So nice to have a bed and sleep for most of the trip. Spoiled us rotten.
The planning, the excitement and energy (in the smiles), truly a fulfilling video. Thank you for sharing. May you guys never lose this bond, Safe travels! PS : If you ever looking to adopt an older son, hit me up.
Once again, Paul, s great vid. I love the way that you always bring a moral value or ethical principle comment into your vids. The world needs more of that. Keep the sunny side up!
We’re fortunate to use my companies staff travel too for random adventures and seeing the look on my boys face for the first time when flying in business class was amazing! I love seeing all of your adventures, it’s such a nice part of working in this industry!
Here's a funny one! Years ago when I worked for COEX and I'd just earned my wings for 90Days Probation I rode up to our Hub at CLE! Went to Rock Hall Tower 🗼 City 🏙️ the Flats! Did a Day Turn and was back home 😔🏡 that night 🌉!
Great words. Watched and loved your videos for a long time. Have an 18month little girl now, Done 17flights with her. Mainly around Europe and Cruising. Love to make the experiences. Enjoying the journey and seeing the family. Love from Scotland ❤ Craig
Exactly the kind of life I’m building for my daughter and I…I’m currently working on my ppl 😊 I’m so excited for the future. I’m very happy for your family. Thank you for sharing Captain 👨🏻✈️
Such a wonderful, non rev life. I’m hoping and praying that I’ll have lots more adventures with my grandkids. Thanks Paul for your great videos and encouragement to travel. ✈️❤️✈️
first time watching you channel and i love it. b6 flight attendant here and would love to have you and your family on board take care keep making more of these.
I have followed you since I knew being a pilot was obtainable for me, this is by far my favorite video! Shows the perks of being an airline pilot, and how truly awesome going on adventures with your family! Love it!
Your channel has grown and grown!! Fantastic family holiday for the weekend! Life is short great to see you are making the most of it with your beautiful family. Thank you
He flies and his family flies absolutely free. That trip to Rome for the 4 of them. Would cost an arm and a leg. That's gotta be a super nice perk. He earned it though.
Funny you mentioned drinking Fanta for breakfast because I saw that when you were at Ginger and I thought, wow what a couple of cool parents letting their son have soda with breakfast.
I just found your channel and this video really speaks to me! We are fortunate that my wife's family lives in Portugal, so we fly through Lisbon to visit family and see everything the country has to offer every year or so. I have the same thoughts, that I hope our kids appreciate these opportunities and value the experiences we are able to give them more than anything else!
Wow - what an amazing experience! My husband and I are very much about teaching our daughter to enjoy experiences rather than possessions. Loved all the smiles you and your family had!
I loved this video. My husband worked for United and we used to do this all the time. Brussels for Thanksgiving, Chicago for pizza, Burlington VT to just get out of the heat for the 4th of July. We haven’t done this in a while though because seats are always full. We always buy tickets now but once I’m retired, we will have to start doing this again.
Absolutely loved this video! I always get nervous non-revving (even though my wife and I are both CASS) because unless I'm on my own metal I never know how many seats are available. ID90 is a little lacking in that department! I can't imagine doing it with kids in tow. It's so uplifting to see you provide such great experiences for your kids. 😊
Those kids have no idea how blessed they are!
One day we gonna have the opportunity we been waiting for 💯
It's great that the kids can literally sit in a room and vote which of those exotic, exciting places they want to go to. Good for them!
But one day they will realize and be thankful for everything their dad made possible for them
Agree. Once they are old enough to compare their lives to others is when they will see how lucky they are. @@xxMyGodIsaDJxx
*Drops everything I'm doing to watch another one of your videos!! ✈️✈️✈️
Exactly! I just pushed away my things to do at this moment, and exclaimed, “I’m going to a Rome with my favourite family on RUclips! ❤️💫 Thank you, Captain! 🫡 xx
You’re an amazing traveler and an even more amazing family man. Thanks for sharing your stories, Captain.
They way you got so emotional when you reunited with Olga just goes to show the amazing friendship you guys have.
Just did something similar myself last weekend, spontaneously non-revving to San Diego for a day trip. Then this weekend, going to DC with my parents. Non-rev travel is a whole different level of travel and im so grateful for it!

It’s really great to be able to travel like this as a family.✈️
I grew up with parents in the hotel business so similar situation to your kids. They took us all over the world when they traveled for business. Why can’t social media always be this way? Cool parents; exceptional people!
I’m 56 years old….I remember my parents attending my school events and ALL the things we did together as a family. The “things” they purchased me; not so much!! This is AMAZING ❤
Whats great about coming late to the party is I get to watch all your videos past and present for the first time as a binge!
Bernie in Sydney
That is one amazing trip and those kids will remember it forever. Good work Dad and Captain!
Your son is the absolute cutest! Love watching him in awe of his first Polaris experience. They are so blessed to have this kind of opportunity to travel!
I love your son’s reaction as he gets into his seat!! 🥹
Your son's excitement over the technology and pillows in the seat was just awesome. Raising some good kids there Paul.
I can speak from experience that your children will remember these experiences more than the materialistic things in their life.
My now adult kids bring up our old trips all the time. Now they are doing this with their kids.
I love your comment about enjoying travel and experiences rather than things.
First class, captain ... on every level.... thank you so much for sharing

AA as in American Airlines
I would be as excited as Anders to sit in first class with all those amenities on a long flight. Great memories for the family!

I’m non-reving to Geneva for less than 36 hrs for my birthday. Our industry allows us the most amazing adventures.
Another great video Paul. You’re family and dynamic + outlook on life are an inspiration to us all. Keep it up!
Lovely family! I’m glad I found your channel! Bravo!
What a beautiful vlog and lucky family. ✈️✈️✈️

So rad. What a great experience to share with your family! Thanks for sharing.
