- Another day chunking trip to the midshore (30F) grounds. As I watch this footage I still can't believe the fishery we had this season. We haven't seen anything like this since the 80s I would guess. Let's hope it's not just a freak 2020 thing!

No hidden stuff. Lost gaffs, broken reels, keeping it real. Thats what happens out there. Nice work
One of the best if not the best fishing channel.
Thanks as always Pete. Trying to really share the experience.....good and bad
Another great catch for the Reaper Team !! Thank you Captain Chris !!
you're welcome Charles. Thanks as always for watching
Great video... I love how the bite turns on in the afternoon... you end on high note even though it seemed like you could of caught more... lots of respect for that! You practice what you preach! You only take what you need... thanks again for posting these videos!
Scott
Thanks for the kind words Scott and thanks for watching!
Lol. Happens to all of us. Lost my gaff on a green large YF 2 seasons ago. Nice to see you got Super Mario to join the trip.
So glad I finally got around to watching this one. Tuna fishing is something that I really want to get into. And I do plan on it. Actually already bought a popping rod to bring along just in case they get up in the slick. And if the captain will allow it of course. Love me some sushi!!!
thanks so much for watching!!
You look like Quint in "Jaws" Just need the sideburns :) Great year daytime chunking!

Another awesome video. Id love some info on your rigging when you add lead to get them down
Will do
Another nice video and like seeing you out there interacting with those fishing. Question: do you ever troll?
Yes we troll a lot Chris. This year was very unique. We literally haven't trolled since 7/5. Def not the norm

Hey Capt'n Chris. Great trip and what a great time. What size hooks are you using for chunking?
Gamakatsu 4/0 and 5/0 Circle 2X strong
dang i want a boat like that.
Awesome trip. I'll take 50% on tuna any day.
Thanks Matt!
... when he's not targeting spiny dogfish
Can you show how you setup your outriggers when you troll? Showing which rod from your table in the cockpit goes where on your riggers
Yea we'll work on that in the spring
@@reaperfishingnj8623 thank you. We are new to the table and outriggers and last time we trolled for marlin, we got tangled 4-5 times in a 5 hour trip which isn’t bad but for nearly straight lines it’s kind of bad
What reel would you suggest for chunking for light tackle yellowfin off LI?
The new Penn Fathom reels. Should be out shortly
What size rod & reel combos are you using ?
Penn Carnage Jigging rod. Penn Fathom 40 NLD2 reel
Where did you purchase the automatic chunked?
chumchucker.com
Was this trip recent?
October 9
How much would it cost you to do that this year.
Probably about 1200 bucks.
@@reaperfishingnj8623 crazy!!! Hopefully the inshore pots will have mahi on them
Hindsight to just losing a gaff
Danny or is that Freddy Mercury
i went as Freddie for halloween once, it was my best costume ever
Just want to catch one thats a dream
Might be time to put the harpoon on board
she's always on board with us. Both of em!!
what would you rather watch the giants win a game or kill some Tuna?
Kill tuna!!! That one's easy
Do you charter? I’m going to be in jersey this coming weekend.
Hello
What's up big man!
What does a tuna charter cost? I'd like to take my father next fall.
I'd guess in the neighborhood of $1200 as that is what most all day offshore charters run here in Florida.
A tuna charter can cost from $1500 to probably $2200 on a center console depending on how far you are running but overnight trips on bigger cabin boats can range from $3800 to $8000 depending on the size of the boat
Where I fish offshore in ocean city it was 2200 for an all day offshore trip on a 50 foot boat
Hey Troy. We are not a charter
