- We start our overnight trip catching a few mahi mahi. At night we pull the hook on two swords only to fight one on light tackle and land him right at day break with a HUGE ghost ship bearing down on us. BE SURE TO WATCH PART 2 where we get a few nice longfin tuna, fill the boat with mahi, and do a nice catch and cook mahi plus tuna and swordfish.

Haha sports, all excited over them little Mahi and Sword.
Yes sir. We had a blast.
You don't have to hog tie the sword...if you bring a hacksaw on board just remove the head immediately cut out the butthole and use kosher salt, slime kmife and a scrub brush to get the slime out the meat will be the most fresh meat you ever ate. Use a slime knife for the guts and a use the scrub for the spine.
I don't know how fish and game works for sports but you may have to keep the head on board not sure.
I’m not gonna lie when it comes to tuna your the best RUclips channel
thanks so much!!
Oh my goodness the fog horn😮
Ha. We heard that for an eternity it seemed!!!
Great job guys. Glad you finally got offshore.
Thanks!!
Your videos are getting better every time. As a captain you had your hands full for sure with that freighter sliding by within 1/4 mile. Great work!

Great footage, excellent commentary! Perseverance pays off!!!
Thanks so much for watching Jim.
Awesome catch with that light tackle! Feel the same nervousness when we hook something big. Can’t beat that feeling!
Thanks as always for watching Ciro.
That’s a beasty one! Great video. Nice capture of the flying Wahoo!
Thanks as always for watching Jason
Man your videos are amazing!!! What is the deepest depth you like to anchor up in? I fish the Gulf of Mexico a lot in a worldcat but thinking about getting a sportfisher down the road and your channel has been a great learning source!
Thank you so much for watching! I feel very comfortable anchoring in 250 ft. We have 1800 ft of line to anchor in 600 ft or so but that's a whole process.
Sweet .on 60 pound fluoro👍love that shot of the wahoo who said they can't fly😉
Thanks so much for watching Bruce

So what happen to the big electric reel
We use that for strictly daytime swordfishing.
Insane!! We are going sword fishing out here in SoCal any tips on doing so or for yellowfin
I wouldn't know where to start in So Cal. But.....don't hook em on 60 Fluoro. Hah. For the yellowfin I'd say follow what the locals are doing for sure. DIfferent fishery over there! Good luck and report back.
Yep! Hopefully the birthday luck comes in like last year. I solo reeled up a 516 lb bluefin (has others to gaff and all) but that was one of my happiest fishing memories too
@@Shhnee Whoah. That's just awesome. Good luck !
That’s a moose! Good stuff, hope to get out this wknd
Thanks Will Good luck. This wind sucks.
60 lb floro carbon??? what the fuck lol. the swords just stack those odds on ya! tight brother!
Awesome catch!!! Congrats. What was the total fight time on her?
THanks so much for watching. Just about 2 hours.
Man take me fishing 😂
When you tie the rope around the fishes sword and tail. What is that for
So he doesn't flip around and break his bill length n weight is the whole point of fishing for trophy fish even if it's luck great job guys
As Stew said it' so he doesn't freak out and injure someone with the bill.
How much did it weigh?
Thanks as always for watching Thomas. You gotta wait for part 2. Wanna take a guess? We were quite surprised
