We run about 70 miles to the Northeast out of Absecon Inlet and go 7 for 12 on real nice class Yellowfin tuna. At one point they were boiling right behind the boat.
The key was live bait and staying in our productive little area near the whales and bait.
40 pound fluoro and live bait baby!!!

Awesome catching...
Thanks for watching
Awesome as always Chris. Hey are you sure you caught that one or Capt Zac reel it in for ya! Lol. Great job and nice size tuna this trip. Tuna steaks seared in a cast iron skillet. Yummy
Ha!!
Great vid, as usual. Is there a part 2 coming with the engine woes? What kind of speed and fuel burn are you seeing with those yanmars?
Thanks Stewart. I think there may be a part 2 we'll see. We cruise anywhwere from 22-26 knots depending on our load and conditions. Only 0.6-0.8 mpg based on our calculations.
Awesome video. Keep them coming!!
Thanks! Will do!
Best tuna fishing season in many years! Those big YF inshore are massive.
How close in are that within 50 miles?
I agree Ciro. Let's hope it continues into the fall

Reaper Fishing NJ thanks buddy! I love your videos. I’m north of you I come out of shark river so it’s mud hole, glory hole, little Italy and Lillian area for me. Keep up the great work!!
Gotta ask. What depth are you calling inshore and how far out?
this was 40 miles from our closest inlet. For me I call "inshore" tuna fishing anything inside the canyons. I guess you could say 20 F is inshore and 30-40 fathoms midshore also
The inshore yellowfin bite is insane this year. I hope we get the same thing next year. We've had a solid yellowfin bite for about a month now only 35 miles offshore in long island. Im getting fish out of my 20ft keywest. Plus bull dolphin
That's just awesome Paul!!
We’re jelly Paul! We must be doing something wrong. Ying instead of yang! We go out every chance we can, tried all different things for tuna. Nada! Spooled something once and got a couple peanut dolphin but that’s it. So frustrating and such a waste of time and $$! Aggravating! But good for you. Chris...how much anchor line do you use on those lumps? Joe wants to know. Thank you!
@@JoeBarbfvOceanDream we carry 450 ft of line and 30 ft of chain
@@JoeBarbfvOceanDream we got one trolling a magnum diving shad rap. Its good to run one of those in the spread when fish are around but have lock jaw.
@Paul Russell thank you for the tip, I’ll be sure to tell my husband. Didnt mean to sound like I was complaining, we love to be on the water. We tried to head out for some in shore fluke and dolphin yesterday but once we out of the GE inlet it was really snotty, no sign of it laying down at all. So to get his fix my hubby is out fluking in the little boat this morning. Lol I have to go to work. 😩 Have a great day all!
I remember as a kid when sandeels were the primary forage for every fish even fluke were cought using sand eels then like everything else thay were gone
yea its sad. hardly see them inshore anymore!
Close to the triples?
yup
Do you go to brigantine beach alot you live right there?
Yes I live here year round
My grand parents have a house on the water in little egg harbor
@@williamguttridgelll2985 Thats awesome
I have a question when your chunking what do u use a bait like bunker or something
butterfish or sardines.
Reaper Fishing NJ what are butter fish I have never heard of them are they like bunker or some sort of bait fish

200 ft
Thank you for the response. ... that’s a lot of anchor line. How much do you carry
I'm looking into getting an Ocean Yachts 40, how do they handle?
I have the 48 super sport and I love it. they're great boats
I have never been out on a 40 but I did look at them before buying the 43. From what I hear they handle pretty well.
What do you do with all that tune fish you guys catch
we eat everything fresh. gets spread among friends and family
Chris, I wrote more prior to this but not sure it went through as I hit something on my laptop and it took me away from your site. Anyway, I would love to go out with you guys.Heres the million dollar question, Can I please pay you to take me out on one of your off shore runs? I would love to bring my partner at work if possible. We love to surf, fish and live life to the fullest. My name is Jeffrey and my boat is the 22 ft Seahunt in the first dock on the right when your walking down the ramp at B Dock. I think im B4. Hit me back! Thank you very much, Jeffrey
Eye tyring cam shooting feeling dizzy already
"At one point they were boiling right behind the boat" Wow! What a trip!! congrats! Did you try to jig them up?
thanks as always for watching Craig. We did briefly but no takers. We aren't really into jigging honestly
U going to try for a sword this fall??
Yes indeed!
I want to go to the mud hole but I’m not sure if it’s a good idea I have a 21 foot robalo with 90 gallons of gas
That's a long trip for that boat.
How far out do you run to catch these yellowfin
this was about 55 miles out
Can we book a trip with you for tuna fishing?
