Love ur toutorials! I’m 84 yrs old & need something to inspire me to have a reason for living! Ur toutorials are the inspiration I feel interests in my brain!
You have a totally different approach to any other pouring video I have seen and your results are fantastic. Didn't realize you could pour without Floetrol, glue, etc. Love to hear you talk!
Yeah, I was surprised with the cel growth with no floetrol OR silicone, but I guess it is mainly the different weights of the paint causing the cels. As far as I know, floetrol is mainly used for economic reasons, right? We cannot afford tons of paint, so we leaven the paint with floetrol to make it last longer. But, I think I am gonna try this mixture!
@@kenmeyerjr57 or Rinske have you tried to mix a little Polyacrylic glue in as a thinning medium with water - they call it Elmers in America , but in S0uth Africa we have Ponal white wood glue, Alcolin - which I suppose is the same??
@@tinaschilling3259 I did try some elmers in class a few sessions ago...I cannot remember why it didn't seem to work as well, but there was something that made me not want to use it again in place of floetrol.
Annie Marie ditto! Lol, seriously. I’m astonished at the results you get without floetrol. And I’m obsessed, from just watching a few videos, with hearing you talk. Lol, is that weird. I hope it’s not too weird. Thanks for the tutorial, I just finished my last two paintings for tonight, but now I’m ready to get back up and go try this! ❤️
Thank you for sharing your process. So many artists won't share their paint formulas and techniques, but truly appreciate it when they do! Beautiful work.
THANKS for sharing your talents. Think it is wonderful just having the paints and water. Your paintings are beautiful without all the added products not to mention expense

Great short and sweet tutorial. The sscret why you get cells with only white paint and water I believe is because you use Amsterdam Titanium white. Any advice on which paints to use would be so appreciated. Many thanks and stay safe!
Moya Gracie hi moya, rinske Donna has a tutorial regarding how to mix the paints. I think she is using acrylic paint, it would be artist type, she mixes it with water. There is loads of tutorials on you tube, but most folks are from the USA, they seems to use floetrol, which is expensive here, it makes the paint flow better, self levels and slows down the drying process. Some also add silicone, which produces the big cells. Many use treadmill silicone, but have seen someone use WD40 !! But the big problem with silicone is you have to wash it off your canvas if you later want to go on and resin. Some other folks use PVA glue in their mixes, this I think creates round cells. Many tutorials will give you the mixture amounts, but just remember that each make of paint is different, so while one will be ok others you may have to add more or less. It’s a huge learning curve, but the outcomes look amazing. You do need to torch the paints to eliminate tiny air bubbles u can’t see, if not they will pop during the drying process causing tiny pin holes. You need to use a torch and not heat gun as that’ll melt the paint. This is all the info I’ve learned, and have now got some paints off of amazon, so am gonna give the paint and water a go. I'm new to this... Question:
How do you get Cells if you don't use
Floetrol or Silicone?
I was wondering this too. ??
I think the molecules in the paint play a part, as some colours are ‘heavier’ than others so sink beneath the ‘lighter’ colours so creating the cells
It's all about density differences between the colours and if the thicknesses are different between your colours
