Thanks for this video I was going to take my truck to the shop to get it done but after seeing this video I'm doing my self saving me some money 💰 you guys are awesome
Prolly the best how to video on RUclips. Explained in very easy to follow simple terms. And this man knows his seats like he engineered them.
This was an awesome video. One of the best how to vids I’ve seen in a while. I just replaced my 2014 Silverado seat cover and it went flawlessly! Thank you!!
You sir are a master in your craft!
Excellent video, very informative! It also shows how much is involved in replacing an OEM cover. It really shows that when done right, how expensive it should be. Thanks again.
Wonderfully done video. Great ideas with zip ties, steam, and all the other tricks. Thanks for making it
AWESOME video. I’m pretty impressed with the steaming trick! Getting ready to do an install on my 2017 Silverado. Thank you!!
Hi Kurt, thanks for the support, we appreciate it!
Thanks to this awesome video, I just did an install on my 2015 GMC Sierra. You guys are the best.
how long did it take you? Any issues? I am about to do mine this weekend
@@vssmokinhotbbqronvogel4341 my brother and I went step by step on the video and it probably took us an hour and a half. We moved slow and would watch each step then do it.
Our biggest struggles tended to be the plastic trim. Once we got the cushion in, putting it back together was much easier than I thought it would be.
Did you actually steam the foam? I want a new driver side vinyl cover for my '15.
Thank You I could not have done this myself without your help and this video
After watching your video, I was able to pull myn apart. A found a SUPER EASY way to get the headrest slides out.
I used a 45° pick from the inside of the slide, push and twist !
T.Y.
AMAZING!!!! I just noticed today that my seat cover is starting to split in my 2014 GMC Terrain Denali. After watching this video I have no doubt I can replace the cover!!! Before this video I didn't even know it was possible. I was looking to replace the entire seat!!!! Thank you so much!!!!
Hi John, we're glad we could help, if you have any other questions feel free to reach out.
how did it go? I want to replace my 2012 terrain driver seat cover.
oh this is so god to know I can order what I need. I bought a 2015 and the interior is immaculate aside from the drivers seat ,particularly the bottom. I was looking at maybe buying an entire new seat or something.
I will be purchasing from you sir. great video and great product.
Just replaced the foam in my 2018 Silverado with heated and cooled seats. Soooo much extra work and complication with the cooled seats. The whole job took almost five hours with the foam modification. One positive note, I found $4.25 in spare change when I removed the seat.
This video was great! Helped me install the seat bottom on my 2015 sierra. Thanks!
Are you able to do 2015 Denali? I only see SLT SLE and work truck
Hay this is #torah57mitch and I am contemplating redoing my seats in ultra leather using the old seat cover as a pattern for the new cover you are very informative on the teardown of the seat
This may seem like a lame question, but....Do you need to remove the seat from the truck prior to removing the cover? Or, can you do everything shown with the seat in place? If yes, how do you get the seat out?
Great video! I almost expected you to say T20, T as in…. Torx…. I would have laughed my ass off.
Thank you, I wish you had the cooling and heated replacement cushion . Ild take this on in a heartbeat
Did you ever find the heating AC cover anywhere else?
Very go video, I wreck and rebuild GM trucks I have several sets of seats almost all have damaged covers. I am going to change the covers now how do I contact your business to get the covers.
Awesome video! Just bought a new GMC Sierra AT4. The driver's seat (stock) is very thinly padded and not very supportive (it also has heated and ventilated seats). I am a larger framed guy with a bad back and need more padding/support (esp under the butt bone). So, how should I proceed...replace the stock foam with thicker? It is obvious after watching this video, I am not going to try and DIY it. Thanks for making this video...very informative!
I just got a 2014 GMC Sierra All Terrain and it has the most hard and uncomfortable seats I've ever had. I didn't notice it much in the test drive, but the first time I got some miles under me, I was disappointed in the seats.
Same here
You know you make that look very easy
only cause he's had a lot of practice 😎
Are those the prefforated ones for the seats that have heating and cooling?
Does anyone know if the durafoam padding and covers for the 2014+ are compatible with a 2012 seat frame? I'm kind of thinking about trying this as a hybrid option instead buying the seats outright to retrofit those newer frames to the gmt900 cab.
How about doing a video on a 1995 Chevy Silverado seat replacement? How does the seat come out of an extra cab truck with center console?
Great video! Do have one question regarding the seat cover types and interchange options. Would I be able to use the perforated lower seat covers in my 2015 Tahoe LT which have the solid seat covers? I dont have the AC seats but thought it might not matter if I only use the heated portion. Thoughts?
That is correct. They would fit.
Does this work with cloth seats
Very very very good video very detailed and what not. I needa replace enter console on my gmc 18 sierra 2500hd from elbow on it... Wish they'd put it thicker there.. and noticed my driver seat by electric buttons is now cracking out ;( wish there was thicker there also so it would last a lot longer... So as far as replacement goes how does heated seats work ? That's all mine has so is that imbedded into the fabric or is it in the foam padding or something ? Has anyone done it with heated seats ? Let me know thanks
For heated (non-ventilated) seats, the heating element will be glued to the foam cushion underneath the cover. You can carefully peel that off of the foam and use spray adhesive if you need to transfer it to a new foam cushion.
available for 2021 GMC yukon?
Looking to change the cloth with leather
I have a 2016 gmc sierra Denali ultimate with the tan. Drivers side seat bottom is wearing and cushion is sagging from me sitting in it, I’m a big guy. I will call I hope I can fix it
Was ready to do this cushion install, if it didn't include removing the seat.. 2018 w/t silverado
❤ same here and a video is not that good it doesn't show you step-by-step process and break it down it just shows him at a distance it shows it at a distance but it doesn't show him turn it down when he's talking about it so it doesn't do any good I need to take this in somewhere and have it done
Do you have covers with the 3D mesh for cooled seats? I didn't see that in this vid?
Yes, it will have the 3D mesh on the back of the cover itself with the heated and cooled seats.
Anybody knows how to disconnect the big yellow wire harness shown at time 3:26? I need to disconnect it in order to get the seat out of the truck. thanks.
I have the 2015 GMC Sierra All Terrain Carbon Fiber Edition seats. Where do I find that factory type of seat cover?
Thorough job and thanks for the video.
Gmpartsdirect maybe. Probably expensive
You might have to go to the dealer directly since that material can be difficult to source.
Gm part number 23423855 mine just came in the mail today.
Do you guys sell the jet black cloth seat cover for a 2018 Silverado. Looking at ordering the new cushion since my oem cushion is junk and the cover is also ripped from the cushion deteriorating.
Thanks
Email us your VIN. We're happy to check the options for you. Sales@TheSeatShop.com
Am i able to go from cloth to leather seats? I have a 2014 gmc 1500, SLE with heated seats in the front. No cooling.
Yes, your seat covers can be switched to leather. Usually, the 2nd row has a different seat option based on cab config, but shoot us an email at sales@theseatshop.com and we can help you out!
Will those seats bolt into a 2012? Are the seat electrical plugs the same? What about the 2020?
They are different seats.
Do you recommend replacing the old foam or not?
Yes, we recommend replacing the foam if you are replacing the cover. The covers will shape to fit the the foam. If the foam has broken down, new covers will not last as long.
Is there a video on how to replace the cushion ?
If you follow this video, once you get the seat cover off, it's just a matter of swapping out the foam cushion. If your seats are ventilated, you will need to switch the venting mechanism over to the new foam. If the seat is heated only, you'll need to peel off the heating element and use spray adhesive to glue it to the new foam cushion.
Does this work from going from cloth to leather???
Yes, the cloth and the leather seats used the same frame in this year range. The control cutouts will be different on the side.
Are these compatible with a/c seats??
We make the A/C compatible covers (non-Denali), and we do have a video on how you can modify the foam to work with A/C seats: ruclips.net/video/j4yrIbOzmJs/видео.html
My cloth cover is perfectly fine, but the foam is breaking down.
To remove the seat is it required that you need to disconnect the battery prior to doing so due to air bags ?
Yes, it is recommended that you do that.
Toyota matrix or Pontiac vibe leather!!!!!
Mines sinking ☹️
Looks like you broke the seatbelt plastic
BEWARE! The video makes snapping the strips into the orange clips look easy. IT FUCKING SUCKS and when one side does finally snap in, half the time it pops out when doing the other. New cover and new durofoam. NEVER again. Look for your fingers to be raw on seat one and probably bleed on seat two.
Those seat cushion aren't even the best made material. They rather look cheaply made with no attention to details. Is kind of dull looking cushion .
Can I remove the heater and a/c to have better cushion???
I guess seeing videos of what I typed in you tube doesn't know the difference between a 2014
Between a 2014 and what?
