I always pick up milk glass vases if I can get them for $2 or less. Not a big profit but people like them for wedding decor so many times they will buy all that I have in my booth. Wipe me out and then I’m on the hunt again!

Margaret, (sorry for this long comment) I see you do what I usually do on Ebay where pricing is concerned: I price it at what I think is right or best and usually with a “ make an offer.” I rarely do auctions anymore unless I’m absolutely certain to get at least a few competing bids. I cannot begin to recall all the items I see when I look up ”solds” that sold for $1 or $3 or $5 and know that it should have sold for often many times that. I wonder if the Ebay sellers just don’t know that they are basically giving away their stuff? Do they not know the RISK of listing with such a low starting bid? Here’s what I began to figure out when I kept getting burned: For some resellers who have a huge following on RUclips, I’m talking hundreds of thousands or more, they could list a plastic spoon and get 10 bids on it. I’m exaggerating of course, but I’m sure you get my point. So for anyone else out there who may lose on their listings for auction, if you want to be more secure about getting your stuff sold at a reasonable price that makes it worth your while, list it as “Buy it Now” and be willing to take offers. The interested buyer may or may not ask you to take an offer.

In reference to your cat Laurel Birch items: I majored in Art History (and philosophy - it's easy to see why I sell on eBay for a living) when describing a work of art for a gallery you couldn't say "Picasso Style" instead you would say, "Unsigned Cubist Painting in the Style of Pablo Picasso." Although I don't know if that protects us on eBay listings.

That little white "spinning top" looking item in the box is a vase. I'm always drawn to anything made by Rosenthal because it's a Bavaria Germany company, which is where my daughter is currently living. I could only find one online with a price and it was 20 euros. So not extremely valuable, but still cool the way it would sit on the table. I sold a white Rosenthal vase quite a few years ago on Ebay. I don't remember much about it, but I always remember it being something that had some pretty decent resale value.

That glass ashtray is mid century Murano glass from Venice. Looks like it has some gold or silver leaf shot through and expanded into a dispersed glitter effect during the mouth blowing process. Prices vary, but fancy mid century stores sell Murano glass ashtrays for $125-$200 or so. More for really special ones.

When I look at solids, I also think that some things could have sold for more. I don’t do auctions unless I’m REALLY sure that the price will continue to go up and up. I think sometimes people assume that they will get a ton of bids, then the item sells for far less than it’s worth. Great shopping trip and advice again!

Yep, you have to be highly selective when buying figurines and “cutesy” stuff for resale. And even when it’s “vintage” doesn’t even mean you’re gonna get a good price or even get it sold. I learned that the hard way.

Don't be afraid of breakable items (glassware, etc.). Wrap them in SMALL bubble wrap and then use packing peanuts so that there is at least and 1.5 inches on all sides of box. Make sure there are no pockets of space and seal up and shake. You should hear NO MOVEMENT. You are done. PS. If you can't kick it down a flight of stairs and not worry, you didn't pack it correctly and start over. DO NOT write "fragile" on the box. THAT doesn't matter. Warehouse and carriers are not "gingerly" walking your fragile package to the conveyor or front door. They are rushing to get the job done. Plain and simple. I've shipped glassware for years. NO ISSUES.

love your vids. I appreciate so much that you are articulate. You ask what you may have missed, and I respectfully will say you missed appropriate grammar at about 14:52 with "has got" or "hasn't got". "Got" should not be used with "have". Otherwise, you're perfect!
I'm mortified by the horrendous use of the English language in so many reseller videos. It's one of the reasons I enjoy yours so much!
    Have that?
    Got it.

      Well put!
I also greatly appreciate Margaret's diction and grammar. Her dialogs are very refreshing!
(I don't think I've EVER winced at a usage or pronunciation for as long as I've watched her. SO rare!)

Are there brands that one should know when sourcing ginger jars or are they just popular because they're ginger jars?
