You are so welcome! Thanks for watching. A lot of years in school, tuition money and decades of experience :)
You are such high energy and vibrant in your presentation.
Awesome.
Thank you! Always nice to hear :)
The Swarovski crystal owl reminded me of my mother. She collects all of the figurines or anything Swarovski crystal. The roosters reminded me of my grandmother in law. She loved anything rooster. Thanks for taking me down memory lane! Thumbs up!
WOW! Masterpiece was perfect for you growing up! Right On!
I had that Masterpiece game when I was a kid and loved it. Seeing that brought back some really cool memories.
My mother mace camp coffee all of the time. That coffee pot was her favorite! Here's might have been a purer blue.
You are a genious teaching us your powers,Thank you!!! It helps me a lot🌺
My grandmother had “Masterpiece”. I remember playing it summer when we stayed at her house
I forgot about Masterpiece! I would have played that game with you Dr Lori! Good memories
I remember when I was about 5yrs old that the neighbors were having a yard sale. I bought a napkin holder that matches the salt & pepper shakers w/ roosters youve shown here. Lol...I paid .05 for it! I guess I remember because it wzs probably the 1st thing I had purchased in my young life. I hurried home and quickly wrapped it to put under the Christmas tree as a gift for my dearly loved grandmother. I recall feeling so proud when delightfully opened the gift expressing how much she loved it!! It remained in her kitchen for the rest of her life. God bless her...isnt that just like a gramma would be?? Now see Dr. Lori how an item evokes our memory!! Thanks so much for your wo derful videos. I absolutely love learning from you!! Youre the best! (And for listening to my story too). Love ya! 😉👍❤

I have my mom's first Hummel. It's the little girl speaking to a bird on a fence. Dad bought it for mom when I was born in 1960.
We played Masterpiece on Saturday nights and LOVED it!💖🦩
I had Masterpiece when I was a kid and I loved it.😊

Never went camping??!! Oh man you’re missing out!! It’s so fun!! Camping and fishing my favorite past time.. and thrifting.
I didn't say I haven't been fishing.. I did A LOT of fishing .. I've never been camping. I can't sleep outside. I am afraid of bugs.
Excellent tips and tricks.
Thank you
Another GREAT video as always! Very informative and interesting. I wish RUclips would give unlimited times to hit the like button, because believe me, I would hit the world record for hitting it so many times! Thank you Dr. Lori for all of your videos!❤️👍

Love the crystal owl! I collect owls, have some real beauties.
Wow, very educational. I will have to keep my eyes open better!!! Great tips and great video.
Thanks for watching!
Ooh, I see my wooden S & P shakers on the table. Can’t wait! 🤗💥👋
I'm appraising everything on the table! Speed round, well as speedy as I can be :)
Dr. Lori LOL, I hear you. I’m rather slow these days myself 😂
Dr. Lori Yay! Mine have the “S” and “P” for the holes. The front is a rooster that’s just black & yellow with a red beak and they both face the same way (not looking at each other). A simple vine design goes around the outside of the front. The bottoms have a woodpecker on a log. Inside the log it says Woodpecker ________ ? and underneath that it says Hand painted. Pat. Japan (All of the words are in caps.)
You really pack so much great information into your videos!! 😊 Thank you
Glad you like them! Thank me by sharing links to videos with your favorite social media group and friends. The more everyone shares and subscribes the more time I can justify making videos every week.
Your brain and knowledge Dr Lori is Super Human Amazingly Incredible!!!
I learn soooo much from you and apply it in finding treasures to resell in my business,.. Just want to say Thank You!!!
I Appreciate You!!!
You are so welcome! I hope I'm helping you make money!
Hi Dr. Lori. Thank you for liking my earlier comment. I enjoy the education of all cool old items, and I get to vicariously thrift through your videos. Have a fabulous day.
Happy to hear you are enjoying the videos!
I worked at Home Goods and when taught how to display merchandise, had a conversation that the rooster in the kitchen is good luck for plenty of food and the pineapple was for welcoming others to come and share it. If the pineapple is on a welcome mat its to welcome others in your home.
Yes, pineapples represent hospitality. I have an article on my website that talks about different fruit symbols, search still life paintings on my website if you are interested.
@@DrLoriV thanks for responding. I will check that out.
I really love the video and all of the useful information you always bring to the table for us, take care of yourself be mindful of everything going on in the world now and protect yourself.
Thank you! You too take care! No pun intended about the table? As I appraised everything on it :)
I'm going to keep an eye out for that Masterpiece game, when I thrift shop.
Great video. Thank you for all the helpful information.
Glad it was helpful!
And yet another fun and info filled vid.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very informative!!! I always learn so much from you!!!! Yay!!!!
I'm so glad! Always nice to hear from you.
Thank You So Much, Masterpiece was the Best!!! My best friend and I played it as I was an only child. We about wore out the Cards edges from shuffling and the clips! Great Times! I was raised a Navy Brat Dad JAG went to 2nd grade in Sicily and my Painter mom made us Road trip every Gallery and Museum up through Italy and Switzerland, Germany ending in Amsterdam July 1966 It made me a Museum Geek. I am so grateful for the trips that were serve wracking as my Dad wanted everything to be a learning experience always a quiz, so grateful for it now!! I have been collecting Board games this past year and have so many fun finds! I am only a tad older than you but I would have loved hanging out and playing Masterpiece, we could geek about which Museum the piece was exhibited at! Mental Hugs to you and Thank you so much for your knowledge and sharing so generously with us!!
Thanks for watching and sharing your story! Please share links to videos so others can enjoy them too :)

Awesome video, Thank you for the great tips on items that are in my price range!

I love your educational videos Thank you so much for sharing 😃
Glad you like them! Don't forget to share them too!
Great video. I picked up some good info!. Thanks, Dr. Lori!
Glad it was helpful!
I have four, maybe five, of the items on the screen!! Somewhere, I have some Hummel-ish figures that were in my room as a kid, but I'd have to find them to see whether they are like the one you have. My swan was my Grandmother's and is clear, but I have the dog (all us grandchildren played with it and my niece plays with it now!), the candy dish (exactly the same), and the Beanie lamb. I feel so collector-ly!! :)
Dr.Lori, I really enjoyed this video. You gave such great information n a lot to think about when ur or myself out there at thrift stores. The salt n pepper shakers , I have the canisters to them. I never could find the salt n pepper shakers so I gave up but I kept the canister m put it away. I also collected roosters n hens n had no idea the true meaning of them.
Yeah, for us women in our power♥️😊👍🤟🏻
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!!
Wow thank you..full of wisdom!!
You are so welcome. Just doing it all for you.
So helpful as usual! Thanks Dr. Lori :-)
You are so welcome! Thanks for subbing!!
another terrific educational video...love ya Dr Lori
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it. :)
@@DrLoriV I always do ~First You are one smart cookie.. I am learning so much from your generous heart for telling the truth and not trying to steel away people's treasures, as many do and I love that you are from New England ...and you truly look like my niece and that is always a joy!!!
Ha! Another Connecticutite! I’m a former Westport boy myself, and know about the rich manufacturing history of CT, especially with guns, but never knew about the clocks!
Thanks for your service ❤️
Thanks for watching!
I love ya Dr Lori....We get a standup comedy show and awesome antique advise and appraisal from you.....In the age of covid I find myself very tempted to remove the filth that you say to leave.....I know you are right and that I should never deny your VAST wisdom....And yet the urge still haunts me....
Love you!
OH MY STARS! I've been looking for that game! Most the people I know have no idea about this game.
You are awesome! Great info. Thanks!
You are so welcome! Thank me and help others by sharing links to videos with others in your social media groups. I need more views and subscribers to justify my time and staff's time to make more videos for you all. So, if you'd like a new video everyday, everyone reading this needs to share links to my videos everywhere! And subscribe too.
I love that you ALWAYS have the gloves on! I worked in the custom framing business for a few years. I learned and I see documentaries where they are looking at books and or files with NO GLOVES! I cringe !
Thanks. Have you watched the video where I explain why I wear the gloves at ruclips.net/video/0gxhyPngbHI/видео.html
It was the character names and bios that got me on Masterpieces. You kinda impress me as the seven times married Dombrowski-Keyes.
I LOVED Masterpiece
Can’t wait 😊💯
Ty sooo much!! You really gave aa lot o information
Your welcome and thanks for watching! Don't forget to share the videos so others can enjoy!
I have so many of these enamel pieces
Nice learning session today! Thank you!! Stay Cool!
Thanks, you too!
Thank you. I watch every vidio you do. I learn so much. But I wanted to tell you that I collect owls and I have the exact same owl that you featured! Wow. Thank you.
Small world as they say! I'm always adding vids. You can use the link at ruclips.net/p/PL384695BCA1841B8F to see the latest posted in order. Plus did you watch all the ones on my website that aren't on YT? Thanks for watching. Got at least 3 new YT videos this week :)
Thank you Dr. Lori! Nice to see a table of different items to look for with their approximate values. I have some Swarovski Crystal Owls and Mice still packed away in their round containers. I have had them since the late 80s. I'm a reseller so it's time to get them out. Thanks again!
Happy to help the resellers make money!
I loved the Masterpiece game when I was a kid. I found a unopened one at a garage sale years later ❤️
I'm jealous.. the one in this video was far from new.
Dr. Lori I still have the unopened Masterpiece game. One of my treasures!
best game ever! we played it thousands of times back in the day :D
@@shelleyswartz1673 Lucky you! I'm so jealous.
I need to start taking notes !!
You'd be surprised how much you will retain if you watch the video more than once. Your mind will recall something that you see like a photo or a video better than any other way to learn. Stick with me.
You are the bomb 💣. Thanks again. More videos like this pls
Thanks and working on more like this today :)
I highly recommend you.
I tell everyone
I always had to get American Gothic in Masterpiece. No one else was allowed to! Loved that game.
That's funny how you put dibs on the Grant Wood painting.
Loved this video. I remember back in the 1990s when a friend of my daughter didn't know how to tell time from a regular clock - because everything in her home was digital. I wonder if that's the case with young people today. 😆
Probably...
Yes it is unfortunately, they can't tell time nor tie their shoes (velcro). Now this next batch of kiddos won't be able to read script (cursive) because it's been removed from the curriculum. Writing checks, thing of the past. I wonder if check books will be collected if so I am ahead of the game! Lol
@@cathifamjourney469 I know you should be collecting check books if the account has money in it :)

Happy to hear it! Did you see my video yet where I appraise a piece of Fire King at ruclips.net/video/LE2plwIzh2Y/видео.html ?
Girl! I watched that video several times 😀 to freshen up on my dope skills LOL . It's cool to find a treasure when you're out thrifting but I like the history behind im not a seller i collect and reserch how life was the event that happened that changed the world. The 30s-50s
Seemd to be more in order then now 🤔 I think wish we could get a little of that back . I'm not trying to pry but this is really a history question did you studied or research the Bible all kinds of history there it amazing Artisans, builders, iron workers government , bankers it would be cool to find some pottery or anything from that time.. have a good night Dr lorie God bless you 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks wonderful information, yor are amazing
So nice of you!
DR Lori you are the best! I need to know how you clean things. I don't want to shine things up just want to make sure its clean. I wish you would do a video on that. Thanks love your wit and humor.
It will depend on the piece. I've answered a lot questions about how to clean and store pieces in my Ask Dr. Lori videos. Check those out.
I really like the info its very helpful
Glad it was helpful! Don't forget to share links so others can use the info.
Another great video Dr. Lori! I really enjoyed the kitchen collectibles and the glass powder dish was also one of my favorites. I would have thought it was a candy dish. 😝 That’s why I learn from you.
Thanks! And I noticed that you found the other videos on YT. I have 3 more again this week on Tuesday and Wednesday. You can also call in next Sunday since I'm on KDKA radio at 3 PM et.
Dr. Lori Yes ma’am I sure did!! And, in between all of my motherly duties, I try to catch every episode that I can. And, how wonderful that you’ll be on the talk radio! Can’t wait for that!
I have clear powder dish like that. I thought it was for jewelry.
Very helpful ty!
Thank me and help others by sharing links to my videos with friends and social media groups.
Thank you!
Nice - informative, am I the only one who noticed (read quite a few comments, crickets) that someone had at the end, remembered to replace the tin! lol
One of your best, thanks!
Thanks, was there something in particular that you liked?
@@DrLoriV It felt like a one on one learning experience. They were all the types of items I look for to resell, so the information was very personal.I loved playing Masterpiece, it was a Christmas gift.
@@VintageConversation Thanks for the feedback! It helps for future vids :)
Thank you
MASTERPIECE ALWAYS AN AWESOME GAME .
Thanks for the tips.
Happy to help!
I'm happy to find out my 75¢ salt and pepper shakers are worth more than I paid for them. They match the canister set I inherited from my aunt.
Wonderful educational segment 💜
Working on more like this :)
Dr. Lori Thank you ! 💜
Thank you so much.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
Notice at the very end how the milady coffee can pops from the back of the table to the front in front of blue swan powder box. Magic.
I strolled through the comments just to see if anyone else saw that happen lol
@@sunnywv641 Yes, you really need to re-watch a lot of my videos as we have other similar things happen in videos :)
Masterpiece is hard to find. I have one and also loved playing it as a kid. Still do, but no one wants to play with me either. :( The one I found cost me like $75 and that was over 10 years ago.
You find my toy dog 😂🤣😁😂 when I was a child.
Thanks
