Those Purple Grapes are cool Lucite from the 1960's, they were advertised in magazines in kits to make yourself. I dont know how well they sell online but they always sold well in my antique shop. They are very mid century modern!!
You definitely needed to grab those grapes! You can get at least $35, and that’s for the smaller bunches. Ive even seen them listed for $75 and $100. It’s crazy!! Anything lucite is incredibly popular right now. And if you’re lucky enough to find lucite candles at Goodwill, you’ve hit the thrifters jackpot!
The wood tray with the foldout hinged sides was a men's valet to put on a gentleman's dresser to hold his cufflinks, watch, pen etc. In essence a jewelry box but referred to as a valet
Hi Margaret 😊 I absolutely loved that Princess and the Pea Clock. I would have taken it with little chips and no working clock just because it brings back good memories from childhood! Good to see you, thanks for this video 😊
Love Mugs. Went to a Goodwill a couple hours away and was SO surprised by the prices - they were SO HIGH - I won't complain about our prices around here anymore :-) - mugs there were AT LEAST $1.99 and up - here they are .50-$1.00 - so different and only a couple hours apart - crazy
I used to go to Goodwill all the time. Then I found out it was a for-profit store. And then in the early 2000s, their prices skyrocket. Now you go in and you can’t find anything under five dollars. So I don’t even go into Goodwill when I travel, because I have such a bad taste in my mouth and the one in my local town! But you’re doing good!
This was so enjoyable and smooth. I really enjoyed the voice over. Thanks for sharing!! (Marilyn still getting use to the new screen name) Oh & our Goodwill prices are out of control!!
I absolutely cannot believe you didn't even give an ounce of attention to that rose framed mirror on the iron stand at the beginning. I'd have bought that in a heart beat even if they wanted $30 for it. That was so very beautiful.
I don't drink or smoke but LET ME TELL YOU= I'm addicted to the Goodwill Bins.....I don't go every day- just let myself once a week but it is so darn fun. And....the great part is- 25 min. from my house. I really could go every day it's that fun.
Hey…Margaret…I was just there at the new GW buying an ikea chair….and picture frames….and some Annie Sloan paint from Round Rock downtown plat…..while visiting my daughter and her wife who are living in Northern RR. We painted everything and it looks terrific in her apartment. I have to say my northeastern blood reacted to the heat by coming out with heat hash from head to toe everyday……I don’t know how you all do it!
Awww sorry for ur reaction to the heat...but I do understand...being born n raised in Illinois ...moved to Texas at 18 back in 1980...been here ever since ...it is still killing me after all these years lol
If they were acrylic grapes (ie Lucite) yes you probably should have gotten them. Acrylic is not the same as plastic. It's crystal clear and very 60s & 70s because it was new. I probably would have also bought the acrylic bars with the fuscia and blue injections unless they were a ridiculous price.
I loved those wood bowls & would've looked at them a little more carefully...and I LOVE those brass mid-century trays!! I would have bought those from you in a heartbeat, as- is!
23:25 Those solar boxed build it sets can be $8-250+ depending they can be expensive to buy the problem is getting complete or unused ones. and the Galt super marble sets can be expensive and parted out if incomplete.
I've been desperately wanting a brass bamboo tray like forever & I never see them! I'm super jealous & even the prices were good. New ones sell for mega bucks. Fingers crossed the "thrift gods" have me in mind! lol
If you put the chain of a necklace in a clear zip lock bag and leave about an inch or less out of the top and zip it closed right up to the chain hanging out on both sides, it will not get tangled. I learned it from my jeweler. I always wondered why he returned jewelry back to me with a little part hanging out of the top zip lock bag.
I was so mad the other day because I left something behind that I thought it would be there and when I went back to it it wasn’t and then I seen a person carrying it so I was like I should’ve just kept it in my cart for making my final decision
Odd about that mug..I found glass in a bundle of lego I purchased the other day. I called them. If I would have shipped that in a bundle like I planned too it could have been bad. Something made me open that bag. Glad I did. Good video.
Fellow Austin thrifter here! I found a Fendi dress at this new location and it was not marked up!! Trying to learn more about hard goods. Thank you for your videos!
3 tiered tidbit Tickled Pink pattern, 50s, first noticed at 5.54, then 6.08. Don't know if there's much profit in it right now. But I'd pick it up if in good condition.
vintage plates like the green ones if they are from England and says Yorkshire ironstone. With a 2 or more plates can go for more than 20 dollars or more. Anything that has a mark on the back that says Italy, England, Sweden, Japan. Look them up in the store.
I enjoyed this video! I thought you showed one of my listings in your brass insert pic but it was a 3 piece music set and mine is 4. Mine just sold today which is super cool. I’m about that #muglife 🤣Looking forward to watching more, Tfs💕🙏🏾
This goodwill is laid out like every one I've ever been to. Almost everything is priced 7$ and up too. l pop in every month or so, but I have local consignment and thrift stores with better items that price much better.
Omg that leaf with the face in it after the blue toothpick holder. That would have been a great pick up. Well at least I would have loved it. Lol! So cool!!
When you say - you look it up - where do you look it up and how do you compare the price! Also - you do Etsy --- do you offer help??? I need some of that!!! Love watching your pickin's!!!
Am I the only 1 that always puts the plastic lil thingie up in the seat area so stuff won't fall out lol but I also bring a plastic tote to stick in the cart n a small roll of bubble wrap to put tween all the breakable stuff as i go along lol
I’ve found that my Goodwills and Salvation Armies out here in SoCal have taken away hard good racks and put in more clothing. That must be their bread and butter.
Not really. That's the most and major stuff that people are donating. My SA is overwhelmed with clothing. I think that people are minimizing. You have estate sales that are left with a lot of clothing. I'm finding a lot of OLD clothing from the early and mid 2000s.
I have noticed here in North Carolina, that the hard goods are being priced much higher than they have been in the past. Not sure if this is an employee-specific move or a district initiative. Either way, I have noticed it in several stores.
Your thrift store is SO nice - I think it is Saver's right? The one's I have been to are not even close to that quality. Anyone know any good thrift stores around DFW? Thank you in advance.
A Goodwill in our area got destroyed by a tornado and they rebuilt it and it looks almost exactly like this new one you've shown here. TONS of clothes, SO MANY clothes. Tiny little section in the back for hardgoods. 😤 They had a pretty good shoe section, though, so it might be worth an occasional trip. I'm just not that into clothes -- esp not to sell.
My hubby says every single time I watch your thrift shop videos, I sound like I am listening to sports😂😂 "Ma'am GO to the LEFT.... no no 3rd shelf"😂 Full contact thriftiness
Margaret, ar abour 9:12 you passed a colorful potterybird that may be worth checking out? I thrifted one And it was selling for $60 on Etsy. I don’t know what it sold for. But it’s really cute!
My Goodwill is similar, except hardwood shelves are much barer, lol! Of course I am in a little town in TN. I don't do clothes either, unless I stumble over a Patagonia or something. 😀
I am loving your videos! Thank you so much for the wealth of information. I have a question. So for the guitar as an example you said if your kids want to get rid of it you would sell it. How does one ship such a big item? Obviously I'm very new to all of this!
Love your vids! Been a fan since the first one I saw months ago. 🤩 Kept looking for the 5 things in hard goods your title said that we'uns should be thrifting... I think I may have missed the countdown if you mentioned them. Or maybe the list was more subtle than I had expected...? Anyway, I still enjoyed seeing what you scored. Some pretty cool items, I'd say! 😍
I would have picked up the clown and Holly-Hobbyesque figurines. Also, the tiered serving tray looks like it may have a 1950’s or earlier design on it, in which case, I would have gotten that.
Just putting it out there, I have heard two sellers say that the Holly Hobbie stuff does not sell, I don’t know if your experience is different but they both said they picked it up before and it just sat.
Same lol right around the corner from it...finally went last weekend...kinda iffy on if imma dig it yet...I'll give it time n hope for the best lol being so close is a bonus
Margret Do you go to the Bins? Yes; Right from past videos?- It’s your ditzy Blonde Girlfriend From OCALA FL 🤣🤣😂😂. I’m wandering have you ever gone alone? If so Have you ever had a bad time with other ppl like pushing you around (it’s not coming out right) I believe you know what I’m trying to say for I hope so! 🤗❤️🙏🇺🇸💙💙💙💙💙(BLUE LIVES MATTER) Your Brother is in my Prayers! As well as your Entire Family. The Delta is out please be careful and Stay Safe!🤗❤️🇺🇸🙏
And I've been watching awhile, I bought some jewelry but You do well I believe. Look for Italy on Glass plus a multitude of others, lol! Love & Blessings To All Your Lil Family! I'd buy again! 😉😘♥️🙏♥️☮️☮️😁😁😎😎
Those Purple Grapes are cool Lucite from the 1960's, they were advertised in magazines in kits to make yourself. I dont know how well they sell online but they always sold well in my antique shop. They are very mid century modern!!
My mom had these but they were green. Lol
They aren't worth anything if they are plastic..she said they were plastic....the Lucite ones are a "glass" type of grape/marble
Yes the Lucite Grapes are very collectable. They sell really well.
I love the way you film your videos! What you leave behind is as informative to me as what you pick up. I'm learning what to ignore.
You definitely needed to grab those grapes! You can get at least $35, and that’s for the smaller bunches. Ive even seen them listed for $75 and $100. It’s crazy!! Brown floral mug behind the heiroglyph mug looks like waechtersbach, also those tile trivets are probably about $20 each
Loved that white footed vase with the flowers & green trim at 1:33 & the rose mirror.
Hi Margaret 😊 I absolutely loved that Princess and the Pea Clock. I would have taken it with little chips and no working clock just because it brings back good memories from childhood! Good to see you, thanks for this video 😊
I got $35 for my last group of lucite grapes. And they sell quickly. I pick them up every time.

First time I’ve watched you. I normally don’t enjoy voiceovers but, you manage to make it interesting and fun. ❤️🥂
I absolutely cannot believe you didn't even give an ounce of attention to that rose framed mirror on the iron stand at the beginning. I'd have bought that in a heart beat even if they wanted $30 for it. That was so very beautiful.
I knew I couldn't be the only one absolutely loving that piece particularly
That was the first thing that really caught my eye as well!
Same here! I loved it.
That clock is awesome. Princess and the pea!
I didn't know about Flipper Tools! Thank you sooo much! I would've picked up that mid century two tier serving tray!
Hi Margaret..Great video.Well I finally jumped in and uploaded my 1st youtube video..I have a long way to go..Thank You for the encouragement
Just subbed
I would have picked up the willow tree things for myself. 🙂
I personally love the lucite grapes because my grandmother had some on her coffee table and I love decorating with fruit. Glass fruit mainly
Thanks so much, that was a lot of fun. I learn so much from you when you do these vids, even though I am experienced...so thanks much!
I don't drink or smoke but LET ME TELL YOU= I'm addicted to the Goodwill Bins.....I don't go every day- just let myself once a week but it is so darn fun. And....the great part is- 25 min. from my house. I really could go every day it's that fun.

Yes Margaret, Signed Glass & Pottery can be very good!
Not a serving tray but a men’s super duper valet for a dresser.
Lucite grapes sell really well for me
So how can you tell the difference between lucite and "plastic" because I though lucite was a type of plastic?
I'd truly like to know.
I loved those wood bowls & would've looked at them a little more carefully...and I LOVE those brass mid-century trays!! I would have bought those from you in a heartbeat, as- is!
Did anyone else notice the retro looking mug at 20:13, just to the left of the DAD mug? I definitely would have looked at that!
Around 14:30 theres a white lazy susan organizer, its a craft organizer. Crafty people love that thing.
23:25 Those solar boxed build it sets can be $8-250+ depending they can be expensive to buy the problem is getting complete or unused ones. and the Galt super marble sets can be expensive and parted out if incomplete.
Hi Margaret! I am one of your mug life people. I recently started collecting mugs thanks to you. 💕
6:24. Sweet mid century double tea tray. That design is very mcm
I suspect that Goodwills like that one sell most of their "hard goods" online.
Goodwills are TOO expensive to pick at! I never go there now…too much new product also
I've been desperately wanting a brass bamboo tray like forever & I never see them! I'm super jealous & even the prices were good. New ones sell for mega bucks. Fingers crossed the "thrift gods" have me in mind! lol

Painting on ceramic are always done excellent!
Lucite grapes.
It’s likely I could’ve fixed that music box.. I salvage these beauties often and love a good challenge!
There was a 3 tier plate stand that may be mid-century homer Laughlin stand. Would have been good if not broken.
I saw it, too! Very cool!
Was scrolling down to comment the exact same thing!!! MCM is still so crazy popular!
Thank you for telling us about MMA I just saw something yesterday and didn't know what it meant. Now if I could remember what and where I saw it. :)
3 tiered tidbit Tickled Pink pattern, 50s, first noticed at 5.54, then 6.08. Don't know if there's much profit in it right now. But I'd pick it up if in good condition.
Came here to say the same thing

Hi I wanted to ask you what is the best time to go to the Goodwill and if it’s OK to go at any time
I shop at Salvation Army, the prices are great!
Your thrift store is SO nice - I think it is Saver's right? The one's I have been to are not even close to that quality. Anyone know any good thrift stores around DFW? Thank you in advance.
Wow thank you for all the great information! Love your videos!
Thanks for watching!
I like those pottery pots too for personal use they are so expensive in store love your videos

That folding wood piece is a Karoff Wood Fold-Away Buffet
My hubby says every single time I watch your thrift shop videos, I sound like I am listening to sports😂😂 "Ma'am GO to the LEFT.... no no 3rd shelf"😂 Full contact thriftiness

17:20 I see something wrought iron down there. Def should have checked it out.
Loved the random mascara tube at about 5:00 lol Wonder how that wound up there
I sold several brass camels but I put them in a caravan of 5 or 6.
What about the ceramic three tiered fruit/serving thing. My grandmother had one. I’m 69 years old
My Goodwill is similar, except hardwood shelves are much barer, lol! Of course I am in a little town in TN. I don't do clothes either, unless I stumble over a Patagonia or something. 😀
6:27 was that a mid century double cookie plate?
I loved all the roosters

Yes. Those grapes are in BIG demand. They're lucite.
Doesnt the shipping ruin the 1lb+ figural sales? Can you send 1lb+ items a cheaper way? Thanks!
Where I live that would be a ton of ha4d goods. Usually only about 3 aisles
Love your vids! Been a fan since the first one I saw months ago. 🤩
Kept looking for the 5 things in hard goods your title said that we'uns should be thrifting... I think I may have missed the countdown if you mentioned them. Or maybe the list was more subtle than I had expected...?

Just the things I ended up showing research for
I would have picked up the clown and Holly-Hobbyesque figurines.
I would have grabbed that clown too!
Is it me or do all the GW stores charge a Lot for stuff? Especially since they get most everything for free.
OK this has to be the university store bcuz I also put that same clock in my cart n then realized the hand didn't work lol
I do really well with the Willow Tree figurines. Great video
I just picked one up. Haven't listed yet. Thanks!
That wood folding tray would also be great for a beader
Wow, so neat. U can tell it’s new
I’ve been wondering about this Goodwill! I literally see it from my backyard. 🤣
Same lol right around the corner from it...finally went last weekend...kinda iffy on if imma dig it yet...I'll give it time n hope for the best lol being so close is a bonus
Does your goodwill have 50% off certain colors each week? That may help with cost
What are website flipper tools?
The Smash Up game looked still sealed. Fun game night game and I would have picked up to sell for the right price (since I own it already).
Lucite grapes, 18-40 comps.
I would've bought the grapes 🍇 🥰 my mom had the glass one's in the 80's
Our Goodwills are closing right and left in CA. ☹️
I look around to see if you are around when I am. The place is way more expensive than most of the area Goodwills
Willow tree at those prices were worth it. If no damage.
The glass grapes 🍇 I would have got because iv been looking for years my mom has heaps and I always wanted them
I regret not getting them
Margret Do you go to the Bins? Yes; Right from past videos?- It’s your ditzy Blonde Girlfriend From OCALA FL 🤣🤣😂😂. I’m wandering have you ever gone alone? Curious why you didn't check out the owl mug?
should've looked at the rooster at the 25:30 mark
That SmashUp game would have been a good pick.
You miss so much stuff! There was a fitz and floyd leaf plate and the lucite grapes are worth every penny
Those prices are still way better than my goodwills
And I've been watching awhile, I bought some jewelry but You do well I believe. Look for Italy on Glass plus a multitude of others, lol! Love & Blessings To All Your Lil Family! I'd buy again! 😉😘♥️🙏♥️☮️☮️😁😁😎😎
do you clean the brass?
Hi Margaret, how do you find solds on etsy?
Depends. Usually google search
