Fun Fun! I make em from roll caps for cap guns and load H&N Crow Magnum .25 cal/ 6.35 mm hollow points. Those rounds will hold 20 of those .2 grain caps. I cut em into 4 dot strips (5 strips) and soak them in water for about 5 minutes. The red paper on top will slip right off and then you can carefully scratch the charges off and fill the hollow point. It takes about ten minutes to make one exploder! They really detonate and no remains of the pellet have ever been found.
@@BossReacts9906 A way better method I have found is to use Prime-all repriming compound for rimfire cartridges. Just follow the directions on the compound and fill the Skirt end of Crow magnums. Make sure there is not compound where skirt meets barrel. Have a blast!
I used to make exploding pellets when I was a kid. I did it by suoergluing a percussion cap to the head of the pellet. Totally forgot about that until I stumbled across this video. I guess you could use a hollow point pellet and put a bit of powder in the cavity before gluing on the cap for a better bang.
@@Maddogairguns thanks for the reply, yes the sound isn't the same when watching the video you can't tell how loud things are thanks for letting me know. Keep up the good work
@@davidhunt6912 I plan on doing another video, shooting the rest of the pellets, will try to get the camera a bit closer, and have the mic set on manual so that it doesn't automatically adjust the sound.
Provided I could be sure it wouldn’t damage the barrel I could be tempted to buy an old favourite or rather a replica of an old favourite, the Webley Service Revolver. I have used the Webley in its firearm form both here and in Greece. But a near silent firing version leaves me cold. The original had a real kick and was a man stopper with that .455 round.
Hello there brother ✌️🍻 … i see all your videos and I absolutely admit that you are the most observant and experimenting gun guy out of the few best ones that i watch…i have a set of questions that i want to ask..so if i may! … 1. If dieseling can send pellets flying faster than speed of sound, then where and when did a sonic boom occur? .. within the barrel or after exit from barrel?..and if it happened within the gun, then is the loud bang because of the petroleum stuff igniting and exploding or is it the sonic boom?! Thanks and cheers 🍻👍
The Sonic Boom/crack when you shoot is a complicated thing, that even I don't really understand. Check out this site for a better explanation: www.physicsforums.com/threads/no-sonic-boom-why-not.531823/#:~:text=The%20sonic%20boom%20is%20a%20result%20of%20the,of%20you%2C%20effectively%20placing%20you%20inside%20the%20cone.
I thought those were just caps at first, but if they are spitting metal then they are pellets. I was excited at first.. I thought someone had made air pellet ammunition that explodes on impact.
Kvintor and the Blicks are unattainable nowadays. It is armstrongs mixture which can be made from matches and the red phos striker on the match box. Do it wet, or better yet dont do it. Armstrongs mix in less than a gram can take your hand off, and it happens fast when it happens.
Interesting logic.... How, exactly, is a 20 joule gun supposed to be less useful in igniting an impact sensitive energetic compound, than a 3 joule gun? If you had used the Gamo, those misses might have had the inertia to ignite on softer targets..... or misses. Its probably just ARMSTRONG MIX which is easily enough made.... or carefully sourced from match heads. Generally speaking its some variant of Armstrong mix, *BUT* the white top of "strike anywhere" matches is a different compound that is more sensitive & must be separated beforehand. Anyhow I had a ton of fun filling the deepest hollowpoint pellet that I could find. Although its a rather smallish power output, with the right fenagling of ingredients, formulas for which can readily be found on the internet, a quite (antithesis of quiet) surprisingly powerful charge can be made.
My thinking at the time, was that the 20joule Gamo would either blow it apart coming out of the barrel, or they would fly off somewhere and not hit a hard target. They are after all, just naff bits of plastic.
The explosive projectile could come out or maybe even go off if pressure released on it is to High! And as to you meant theory it's shit those pelletets arent going off because they are traveling to fast at tin it just rips through it to fast because it's nit hard enough and at 20 jouls all your really doing is decreasing the strength in aluminum thus creating a weaker impact point !
I am thinking it is the report of the Gamo being louder than the caps. I make my own and shoot em .25 cal at 650 fps, right around 19 FPE. But that shooter is silenced, so I can really hear the bang.
They take pieces out of my wooden fence and shed doors, lol, haven't tried them in the dark but I think it would be exciting, and I thought if I could get a magpie there should be a big puff after hitting hard feathers 🪶 😀
It's a good bit of fun!

Love this video and the powerful airgun with exploding pellets!
lol, used to make these as a kid with roll caps and .22 pellets. More, please -- you'd like Tony Savage's channel!
"Out of a 177 air rifle" those pellets are devastating against mice and rats..
Where can you buy them
What are those pellets called
.22 ones are good fun too
Awesome video, love those pellets. Thanks.
Hello , are they very loud, are they worth buying or are they a bit of a let down . I've been looking at them for a while just wondered what you think
They make a fairly loud crack and a bit of smoke, not easy to capture the sound on camera.

I've got the kvintor pellets in .22
There definitely worth the money.
The neighbours hate them .
They are pricey because of the insurance required to produce and sell them. Can make your own, plenty of YTs on the subject.

Webley makes a very nice Mark VI CO2 air gun! I agree, .455 is a beast. I enjoy it's little brother .38/200 Enfield #2, very soft shooting.

They also make .22 in lead now. Quite loud through my crosman pumped.
Empty a 50cal paint ball, fill with match heads and a bit of sand.
Better than Russian artillery
Is this on your channel?
Hahaha this is awesome. Would love to see what kind of impact they do. How many grains are they?

Any link to the pellets?
