    This was very informative, I am indeed a cleaning lady but I want it that way. I don't like working with other people and I only do apartments, but I have a full 5 day schedule and several regulars and I report taxes and the rest of the cleaning ladies are doing their thing too and thriving just because we don't own a company doesn't mean we don't have ambition. I'm truly glad to see you thriving and you're extremely good at what you do and I would never put you down.

      I don't think she was putting anyone down. What she said is the plain true, yes, is her opinion, but most people when they decide to go solo, is because they want to make extra money and work for themselves, but without the entrepreneurship mindset. Now, even if you're reporting taxes, without being incorporated, that can cause you trouble with the IRS at some point. Not telling you what to do, but this is exactly what the girl in the video is talking about. and also, CEO mindset means, to own and run a business without having to be present.😍

      What she means is your adding and someone with a business is multiplying she works less makes more money and creates opportunities for others to work you focus on getting your schedule booked and getting all the money but you work way more and make less money and help no one but your self your family and the clients i know this because I was the cleaning guy I know have my own business breaking generational curses it sounds harsh but that’s the reality

    Good video by the way. Im in California and people don’t like to hear hourly rate. They are amazed because it sounds like we make more than they do as a nurse or professional. I started quoting flat rate and although it sounds high, they pay it because i explain all what it entails. Charging hourly does sound better but like i said, people dont like to hear it. They shop for minimum wage

    • @carolynarellano
      @carolynarellano  Год назад +2

      I suppose it all depends on how you sell it. Flat rate is another great way to package a clean. What happens when you need more time then expected? Do you let the client know or clean until your done ?

    I really appreciate your videos. And maybe you or someone here can answer a question I've had for a long time as an on-again off-again customer of cleaning companies in NJ.
    I don't understand why cleaning companies charge a different amount based on what is going to be cleaned. If you charge, say $100 an hour, why does it matter whether they're cleaning a refrigerator or doing the laundry or making beds? Work for the hour and get paid for the hour. I HATE it when I call a cleaning company and tell them I need someone and after I give them all the info about my apartment they say, "ok, we'll send someone for 3 hours and it will be $300. Oh, but wait, you want them to clean your refrigerator? Then add $50. Oh, you want them to put your clothes in the washer? That'll be another $50!"
    Why does it matter whether they'll be spending the 3 hours doing general cleaning or cleaning my oven, refrigerator or putting my clothes in the washer? It's the same 3 hours no matter what they're cleaning.

    • @carolynarellano
      @carolynarellano  8 дней назад

      Thank you for sharing that. I actually agree with you . For example, if a client wanted to pay $100 for an hour of work than it shouldn’t matter what type of work is getting done in that hour as long as it pertains to cleaning

      @@juliosandoval8244 well two different ways I got known. 1st
      I was cleaning for another small cleaning lady about 30 years ago. and she got a cleaning job in a area she didn’t want to work in so she offered it to me and I accepted the job and that took off with other leading cleaning jobs! 2ndly I was at a workout facility that I had joined. It was my second day working out in my life lol and I was telling the man next to me that I was extremely sore from yesterday’s workout and I could barely lift my arms at work and he said what do you do for work? I said clean houses and he looked at the women next to me on the other side and said hey honey did you hear that!? She cleans houses!! We exchanged phone numbers 26 years ago and today and I am still cleaning for them And also got an extreme number of other clients from them! I have never advertised and I am very grateful for that!!
      I am starting to advertise for commercial cleaning now and it is extremely stressful and exhausting! I wish you lots of success in starting your business! 🌟

    Thank you soo much for sharing your experience and knowledge. I’ve been sitting on this idea for years and finally getting started. Website and professional number and logo and flyers created. Oh also registered and all that good stuff. Next I have to find the right system to use for booking and keeping track of clients. Creat contracts and hire employees. I have a few ready to work. I just want to get the paper work and back end stuff prepared first. This helps soo much with pricing. A lot of these you tube cleaning channels lead you up to selling something like a course or to pay them for leads and I get it, can’t knock the hustle but come on now we just getting started. But thank God for you tube university, we just gotta do our research and learn from you guys that are sharing from your experience as well as learn as we go. Thanks again for your time and knowledge. At the end of the day no matter what type of cleaning it is that we’re doing commercial post and instruction carpet the math that we’re trying to do is how much are we making for every hour that we’re there. As long as we can meet our hourly rate, then we will not go below our profit margin that we’re trying to hit.

    Thank you for sharing. This was helpful. I do have a question.... when you say man hour- If you have 2 cleaners, Do you charge double hourly? So for 4 hrs with 2 people, it would actually be - at 50 an hour , that would be 400.00? I know of some companies that do this and I have thought about doing the same. What are your thoughts on this?

    • @carolynarellano
      @carolynarellano  Год назад +5

      Of course you have to charge per hour per person otherwise how will you make money? For every person that is working you should be charging let’s say $50 a person. We are at $60 a person so per hour is 120 for two people or one person $60.

    i really loved this video Carolyn, thank you so much for the information. now i should ask as i have been doing cleaning and am now a registered business owner! i have started out doing flat rates and i is determined by how many bed and bath, and how far i am travelling to get this the specific clean. i say this because i live in a smaller tourist town, and travel out to different places in the surrounding areas to gain more traction and business, BUT i would like to change to hourly, how do i go about this with my clients who i do regular cleans for. after a while I'm sure they would get used to pricing with the consistency i provide per clean, but how do i go about changing this when i am already charging per home?

    I am confused, sorry. So you charge $60 per MAN hour. So if your minimum is 4 man hours, you are only sending 1 technician out and paying accordingly? So only when a home is 8 man hours do you send another technician with? What if the house is 5, 6, 7 man hours? Sorry if I am not understanding correctly. This is very helpful information

    • @carolynarellano
      @carolynarellano  Год назад +1

      No worries at all. Sometimes I can word it confusing. You are correct. It is $60 a man hour with a four-man our minimum so we do not come out for less than $240 a job unless we apply a coupon or discount. Now I will let my technicians work solo up to about four or five hours. We usually work in teams of two because each team cleans 2 homes a day on average between 3 to 4 hours. So to answer your second part of your question for larger jobs that will take six man hours plus we will put two people in but again we mostly working teams it to anyway because we have a full schedule and most clients like to see two people in larger homes
