I live in the UK, but plan on retiring in the Philippines within the next 5 years and this will be the perrfect vehicle for me taking into account how bad the roads can be as they are still unpaved in parts when you get out to the remote areas. I just love the looks too.

If you don't mind having a manual truck navara VE 4x4 is the best value truck out of the bunch. But then again we wouldn't have this issue of springing to the higher trim if we could just spec and order our truck that way it can suit our budget. In the states they do it that way which im kind of jealous

If you're comparing correctly, you'll be fast understanding that Ford is actually expensive, since they're not providing many equipments. The Navara VL 4x4 AT is offering electrically adjustable seats, dual zone Aircon, complete ADAS features, more power and torque, 7 speed AT, and more. Ford doesn't offering all of that and more, so clearly you're right, this Ford is a steal, because they're clearly stealing your money when compared with Nissan. Bonus : only Isuzu D-Max top of the line isn't offering a diff lock, all others do it.

I could sure go for a 2.0 diesel in the states..or any diesel ranger for that matter. All we get is the 2.3turbo gas with 270hp and 310fpt.. it’s a beast that fam easily get over 350hp but I want a diesel!!! Oh and I would kill for a manual transmission also…fml..when I win the lottery ima go to the Philippines and buy my dream ranger and have it shipped to the states and have the ONLY one like it..👍🏼👍🏼
All models except the Wildtrak 4x4 use the 6-speed that can be found in the old 2.2 engine-based Rangers and Everests. The Wildtrak 4x4 uses the 10-speed similar to the previous gen Raptor.
That's one of the main reasons I am considering the Sport esides 12K cheaper, you get the 6spd instead of 10spd. I do want to upgrade the exhaust give it a better sound.

The only thing its missing is the sensors, and front camera, which is different from ADAS, where I live in the PI, cruise control, lane monitoring, auto braking, is never used. Best to rely on defensive driving techniques.
Promax version which is 1.9, 6K U.S. dollars more that is questionable. Ranger came out year ago, had Toyota, Nissan, MISHI thinking wtf. they all hurried upgrades. But I actually am not a fan of all the new tech, thats why I think the Sport is the winner, not the wildtrack not the raptor, screw that 10spd, and where are you going to go off roading hitting the sand dunes to drive a raptor.
Yes agreed for the Navara, because it's more reliable than Ford. I'm not confident buying any Ford vehicle, because so many owners and people are complaining having problems with them. The Navara VL is a better value for money btw.
Ford is not that reliable, but 400-600k savings compared to a comparable hilux is crazy... Hope Toyota gets their shit together or else I might end up buying this 😂

Just make a comparison between this Ford ranger and the Nissan Navara VL 4x4 AT, and you'll find out the Nissan is way better value for money than this Ford. They're almost same prices, but the Navara is offering much more as standard than the ranger on the same price range. Navara is globally the best pickup money can buy since 2015. Don't always listen the reviewers and influencers, read by yourself and find out the truth alone. Bonus: Ford ranger is also less reliable than Nissan Navara. Choice is yours.

You're going from 210HP with 500 NM to 170HP and only 405 NM of torque. It's 40 HP and 95 NM of difference, so I think you're gonna kinda feel it.

Their diesels have the same issues ours do, emissions over regulation has made them unreliable garbage. There's no point in buying diesels anymore.

I think ADAS should have been standard across the line. Its going to be another 4 or 5 year wait to see both Everest and Ranger have it.
