I am still trying to figure if I need or want Logic, but, you by far give the clearest information about it. I have been using Reaper for years, but, I'm now entering the MIDI side of music. And it was supplied with Ableton Lite. So things slowly coming along.

Another new “feature” is that the scribble strips on the behringer xtouch xtender controller no longer work… they just go blank when you launch logic. Everything else works, faders, buttons, knobs etc and the main xtouch controller that is also connected works fine including “coloured” scribble strips that almost match (there is a limited 8-colour pallet) the colours assigned to the logic tracks. I hope this is a bug that Apple will fix.

Hi folks, I've watched this vid and read a ton of news online, but still can't confirm: Does Ventura and Logic Pro 10.8 finally support ARA natively in Apple Silicon? This is required for Melodyne and VocAlign to work more quickly when capturing tracks. Up to now, you've had to run them under Rosetta to make ARA work, but that sucks. Can anyone confirm if ARA fully works now natively? Thanks!

@@thatlogicproguy Thanks. Very surprised that Apple is neglecting this important requirement. Melodyne and VocAlign used to be so fast to use. Now you first have to 'capture' every audio track in real time before you can process it. And I do not want to open new native projects in Rosetta, because it can mess things up.
Yes I concur. One of the drawbacks of using this program for sure. I still love it though…. So many positives

@@pop_polizei Not so much a bug - it is a feature that was possible prior to Apple Silicon's new OS and app security. The new architecture, specifically how plug-ins are now run in an isolated way 'outside' of Logic (instead of inside), makes it impossible to use the old ARA capability. We can only hope that Apple and vendors work together to solve this.
There's a super high pitched tone (Above 15k) that's present throughout this entire video. Otherwise, great content

I just upgraded Logic ProX from last version to 10.8 after Upgrading to Ventura as well on my mac mini M1 with 16GB of Ram and 512GB SSD. Logic no longer opens up completely previous projects. Shows the gain plugin and that's it. When I create a new project it works fine. Please help. Thank you-David
have you tried open main window, under the window tag above, don't if it will help but it might. If I close logic with a plugin open when I reopen it only the plugin is showing so I have to open main window again.

its a bit disappointing that if you'd like to use all the "Character" features in the mastering assistant you'll need the Apple silicon

@@thatlogicproguy I tried to speak to apple and the logic team about it but they could not answer my question which was.... Why can my imac pro that is less than 2yrs old and has 64GB of RAM not cope with the new mastering assistant. All they said was to start a conversation about the issue on their help forum. Unbelievable!!

I'm trying out the Mastering Assistant. For some reason when it is Enabled, it sends more signal to the Right. Do you know what that is happening?
How’s it going? My only guess is that your original mix was very right channel heavy, and now it is pronouncing those parts of your initial mix. Confirm if that is true when you bypass it. Hope that helps mate.
@thatlogicproguy I figured it out and it wasn't that. For some weird reason, it was inexplicably changing the stereo field when I put it on my unbounced session. When bounced the track and started a new session (specifically for mastering the song), the Mastering Assistant didn't mess with the stereo image in any way. I'm really slow at this stuff and I now understand why people start a new session just for the Mastering.

Yea in some instances it makes sense to start a brand new session to Master a track (save cpu resources, have a fresh perspective, organization, etc) I’m loving Master Assistant

Ventura 13.5 is solid. I can attest to that (M1 and M2). Just careful with third party plugs. Cheers @nepntzerZer
Did they really take OUT Rewire support? WHY?????
I think it’s because you can now use Logic Pro as a virtual midi device in other DAW’s. Also, Ableton link implementation makes it redundant.

It made all my previous projects unlistenable or unbouncable, the vocals are completely off time by a lot, when I quantize it gets even worse. It’s like playback latency that I cannot for the life of me fix. Is anyone else having this issue? I’ve even tried bouncing the tracks and putting them into garage band but the issue is still present.
Where’s your buffer size setting at? 1024 or below?
I’ve tried all of them from 256 and below there’s no difference. Thank you for your reply. Should I be trying a higher buffer size?
