I love Alolan Ninetales' Ultra Sun entry. "The reason it guides people all the way down to the mountain's base is that it wants them to hurry up and leave."
ShadowSpade1315 But what's also makes Alolan Vulpix's entry in Ultra Sun scary. "If you carelessly approach it because it's cute, the boss of the pack, Ninetales, will appear and freeze you."
ShadowSpade1315 So all those Alolan Vulpix you find at the base of Mount Lanakila are outcasts from the packs on the mountain itself, or simply got separated from said packs. That's kinda sad...
Let's not forget Lucario's Dex entry in Ultra Moon: "Lucario reads its opponent's feelings with its aura waves. It finds out things it would rather not know, so it gets stressed out easily." they know
It's not all doom and gloom. Mega Pinsir (Ultra Sun): After Mega Evolution, it becomes able to fly. Perhaps because it's so happy, it rarely touches the ground.
not to mention that its non mega entry in US mentions that it actually gets along very well with Heracross in Alola on the heartbreaking side, though, is Amaura: "Amaura was restored successfully, but it's not expected to live long because of the heat of the current environment."
I think mega kangaskhan has one about it being happy seeing it’s child grow up. But another one says it’s worried about it’s future if it can only fight.
My favorite is Aerodactyl's Ultra Sun entry: "Restored from DNA found in amber, this Pokémon exhibited ferocity that was greater than expected. Some casualties resulted. "
I guess he hasn't learned to add talking to his illusions yet. I remember in BW2 you can talk to a hiker that tells you about Zoroark before revealing that he's a Zoroark and running off.
my headcanon is that when gen 6 said Mega Evolution required a strong bond, THIS is what they meant. Not a strong bond to activate, but a strong bond to not let the power flow out uncontrollably
Mega Ampharos's Ultra Sun entry reads: "Excess energy from Mega Evolution stimulates its genes, and the wool it had lost grows in again." Unlike so many others, nothing bad, cruel, or horrifying happens to Ampharos when it mega evolves. No, it just becomes F A B U L O U S
I'm a big fan of Paras's Ultra Moon entry: The mushrooms, known as tochukaso, are controlling the bug. Even if the bug bugs the mushrooms, they tell it to bug off.
How Many Bugs Are In There? Pun Oops I Meant To Say One Two Three FOUR Wait.... I Feel Like I'm Going to... Sneeze... Aaaaaah Aaaaaaaah AXEW! Oops I meant Aaaaachuuuuuuu!

Haunter will catch you, and you won't be able to go back home. *Gengar* (Ultra Moon): Even your home isn't safe. Gengar will lurk in whatever dark corner of a room it can find and wait for its chance to catch its prey. *Pineco* (Ultra Sun): Motionless, it hangs from trees, waiting for its bug Pokémon prey to come to it. Its favorite in Alola is Cutiefly. *Glalie* (Ultra Sun): It freezes its prey and chews them whole. However, it prefers to eat Pokémon like Vanillite that are already frozen. *Relicanth* (Ultra Moon): The reason it hasn't changed at all in a hundred million years is that it's apparently already a perfect life-form. *Lucario* (Ultra Moon): Lucario reads its opponent's feelings with its aura waves. It finds out things it would rather not know, so it gets stressed out easily. *Beheeyem* (Ultra Sun): With its psychic powers, it rewrites its opponents’ memories. You, too, may have already had your memories rewritten. *Mimikyu* Disguised Form (Ultra Moon): A gust of wind revealed what hides under this Pokémon's rag to a passing Trainer, who went home and died painfully that very night. *Mimikyu* Busted Form (Ultra Sun): It stands in front of a mirror, trying to fix its broken neck as if its life depended on it. It has a hard time getting it right, so it's crying inside.
Cell : I have become the perfect life form Mewtwo : I am the Ultimate life form! Shadow the edgehog : What did you just say? Relicanth: relicanth (good joke)
Absolutely! Or, at the very least, they could make it another Affection-based evolution. It'd be nice to finally have more than one of those, and it would still fit the feed-them-many-beans idea! (and it could make sense in-game too, since I'm pretty sure Salazzle shows her reverse harem exactly NO LOVE AT ALL.)
They could even have a scrappier, almost crazed look for the evolved form that is more malnourished and crazed for food. Could have a pokedex entry talking about how they've evolved past their simp like nature and now have a resentment towards them. Could possibly even have an ability that's the opposite to rivalry where it improves attack power against an opponent that's the same gender and decreases it against one that's the opposite. Maybe called "Sympathy"

In order to supplement the diets to their bodies? I could believe that, maybe if they evolved if they gave all their food they wouldn't have enough to eat and just die.
Mimikyu got THREE sad/creepy new entries! -Disguised Form (Ultra Moon): A gust of wind revealed what hides under this Pokémon's rag to a passing Trainer, who went home and died painfully that very night. -Busted Form (Ultra Sun): It stands in front of a mirror, trying to fix its broken neck as if its life depended on it. Here's one for ya: Rotom, the Plasma Pokemon. It enjoys taking over various appliances to wreak havoc and cause mischief. Be warned, though: never let it possess your Pokedex. Using its newfound gift of human speech, it will relentlessly nag you over everything until you finally snap and succumb to insanity.
I thought it was really cute and sweet... at first. Now, with the constant "advice I ABSOLUTELY DID NOT ASK FOR BECAUSE IT'S THE MILLIONTH TIME YOU'VE GIVEN IT"... yeah, I ignore him more often then not.
How about this one for Misdreavus: Ultra Sun: What gives meaning to its life is surprising others. If you set your ear against the red orbs around its neck, you can hear shrieking. I was legit disturbed by that entry.
Alakazam is the real MVP, imagine you find yourself with a spoon that makes everything delicious and then you give it to your friend like a massive bro.
spindash64 I personally prefer to run Life Orb on Alakazam. Less spoons, but due to Alakazam's hidden ability Magic Guard, no recoil damage from Life Orb (but you still get the attack buff from Life Orb)
In defense of Mega Evolution (at least for my boi): "After Mega Evolution, it becomes able to fly. Perhaps because it is so happy, it rarely touches the ground." - Ultra Sun, Mega Pinsir Dex Entry.
Geez, with all these terrible entries about Mega Evolution, I'm surprised we didn't get something along the lines of: "Mega Ampharos's hair contains the DNA of dragons. It has taken over its host mind, making it nothing but a ruthless killing machine." Or... "Mega Gallade has become a ruthless monster of carnage. The only thing keeping it from running loose and destroying everything in sight is the cape on its back." Or how about... "Mega Evolution increases Mega Audino's hearing by 7,000,000,000 percent. It keeps a smile on its face to mask all the pain and agony it hears upon transformation." And maybe even... "Additional gemstones grant Mega Diancie more power. The excessive pains growing these stones are felt even after reverting from Mega Evolution." Can't wait until next gen gives us all the tragic tales of the failed attempts to form Mega Flygon!
That's the point. My personal headcanon tell me the reason in-universe why there is no Mega Flygon is because all attempts to create one were completely futile and disastrous, with either the trainer testing the Mega Stone dying, the team trying to create said Mega Stone dying from a lab accident, Flygon itself dying from the energy overload, or a combination of all the above. Eventually, the team behind the cutting of the Stone realized that there would be no way that this could actually work, so they decided to put a can on the operation. Sweet dreams!
Austin Argo Here's a made-up one for Mega Flygon: "The flapping of its gigantic wings creates a perpetual cyclone of dirt and sand around itself. It blinds enemies and prey so painfully, they don't see Mega Flygon's claws savagely tearing them apart."
Mega Tyranitar just sounds very painful. Also, am I a horrible person for wanting to see Mega Metagross fight like its dex entry suggests? I’m genuinely curious to see how that would actually play out.
Xx_Lunaroo_xX Actually, you could be a lot further away from the actual Pokedex entry, although it's much milder than your description. It just sheds its fur and gains combative instincts.
Outsiders: Pokémon is just so kid friendly I can’t get into it. *read the Pokédex to them* Outsiders: dude, this Pokémon thing is kinda messed up. What’s wrong with you?
My favorite Dex entry would have to be Ekans from Ultra Moon. It swallows bird eggs whole, but said eggs can occasionally get stuck causing Ekans to faint.
Cubone’s not depressing Pokédex entry: Cubone finds humans to play with. It hugs tight to the human it finds at night because it cries for its dead mother.
Wish you had picked the US entry for Goodra. "It's very friendly toward people. If you grow too close to it, Goodra will hug you with its sticky, slime-covered body. *Don't get mad.*" Like, I don't know whether the game is mocking me or warning me.
Nice selection, JWittz! Though, can we please discuss Oranguru's Ultra Sun Dex entry at some point? How has this entry not been making the rounds or even gone viral?? "It normally spends its time meditating in the treetops. It throws Poké Balls and gives other Pokémon orders as it pleases." Uh, a Pokémon ordering other Pokémon around isn't so surprising (as with Vespiqen and Combee or Salazzle and Salandit, or a pack of wild Mightyena, for example)... but _throwing Pokéballs?!!_ Where is the line drawn between a Pokémon and a Trainer, at this point? Could Oranguru become Pokémon Trainers? What are the implications of a Pokémon being a 'Trainer' to other Pokémon???
I think Kukui may have a rivalry with Sycamore. The Alola entries on mega evolution are written with an obvious bias and exaggeration. They are radically different from other depictions elsewhere. The trainer's emotions are what enable mega evolution. A trainer that has a weak heart or evil intentions is what causes the Pokémon to go beserk and grow unstable. I think he is only reporting the effects of a failed mega evolution to make z-moves look superior. Want to see a z-move that hurts someone, look no further than Necrozma's z-move. It physically exhausts the trainer and then steals the light of the world.
This makes a lot of sense. It could be a cultural thing. Alolans probably view Mega Evolution as unnatural, while Kalosians think the same about Z-Moves.
Hey, not every Mega Evolution is bad: Mega Lopunny's Ultra Moon entry: "Mega Evolution awakens its combative instincts. It has shed any fur that got in the way of its attacks. Mega Ampharos' Ultra Sun entry: Excess energy from Mega Evolution stimulates its genes, and the wool it had lost grows again. ...These were the only good ones I could find apart from Mega Ampharos' Ultra Moon entry, but I didn't wanna repeat the same Pokemon twice.
These are still bad in a way... I mean it doesn't sound like a genetic miracle or proper progression. More like the thirst for power is so excessive that it aggressively alters your body that nature never intended.
Patricia Luna still though, while most Mega Pokemon are out writhing in pain or mauling their opponents to the ground, at least Mega Ampharos gets to look fabulous.
If the only reason a male Salandit can't evolve is because of malnutrition, if a trainer were to hatch a baby, male Salandit, and give it the exact same diet and amount that a female would eat, would it be able to evolve? Or was this reason morphed into a genetic trait over time and now the males being unable to evolve has become permanent and cannot be fixed? Pretty interesting... It's also making me think how badass a male Salazzle would have looked.
Maybe Game Freak would soon introduce a male Salandit Evolution that has the biology that that Salandit grew to be so hungry, it left the pack to find food and grew to become one of the most ruthless Pokémon in the (Insert Region Name Here) Region.
So male Salandits can't evolve due to being underfed? And they can't evolve if we give them treats in the Pokemon care mode (forget the name right now) because...?
because they don't actually eat it. Each time you save and quit, your male Salandit spits up his food, escapes his Pokéball and goes and feeds the females.
Mega Metagross's Ultra Moon dex entry is terrifying: "When it knows it can't win, it digs the claws on its legs into its opponent and starts the countdown to a big explosion."
The Stuffle thing isnt Farts, there are many animals with scent glands/organs. Its called 'musking' and is usually used to mark territory or give warnings
They set up that Ghastly Pokedex entry all the way back in Diamond and Pearl just to have it pay of several generations later. Some people at Game Freak have some real commitment to the Pokédex.
I know, they look kinda cool the first time, but Z-moves are not as good as using a life orb or an item that boosts the power of a particular type and the cutscenes overstay their welcome. The kicker is that mega evolution was said to be made from a bond between trainer and Pokemon. Maybe more could have been made if pseudo-legendaries didn't have mega evolutions.
Z-moves almost guarentee a KO With the bulk this meta has, you can't always win with Life orb or....scarves...and get beat back by either a hard hitting attack or trick room. sure you can make the arguement against some megas that the normal form is better off with a different item but I've turned plenty of battles with a z-move to take out a potential sweeper or wall
Houndoom: Oh god, you poor thing... Metagross: BADASS! Tyranitar: Jesus... oh god! When you look at it, you're seeing- GOOD GOD... Sableye: Ehhh.. well, it's bad, but considering that there are horrific creepy pastas about this one... Scisor: NOOOOOO!!!! No no no! We must burn the energy off for it! We must cool it down somehow, teach it mega laser or something!
Here's a made up one for Mega Gallade "It's blades become even sharper and its fighting style becomes more deadly. It gains a huge fascination in card games"
To try to make their players not use Mega evolution because people kept complaining about the unbalanced gameplay. This occurred because mega evolution was used as a marketing tool and given to fan-favourite Pokemon. They did not consider pseudo-legendary Pokemon such as Metagross were fan favourites just because they are strong. Also, they're trying desperately to make people care about Z-moves (personally, I do not)
Don’t worry, I’m sure no National Dex is just a temporary thing until they move onto the Switch, obviously way more powerful hardware can store more Pokémon than ever!
That Stufful thing is actually somewhat true. Panda bears actually rub thier bottoms on trees for other pandas to follow the scent or to communicate. They usually do this when they're ready to breed.
Ultra Moon Mimikyu - A gust of wind revealed what hides under this Pokémon’s rag to a passing Trainer, who went home and died painfully that very night.
Personally, I believe Eevee's Dex entry means a more subtle change, i.e. a JWittz-owned Eevee growing a slightly thicker tuft of fur on its chin and maybe getting cute "spectacle" markings around its eyes to mimic glasses.
Pokemon Moon - Mimikyu: “A gust of wind revealed what hides under this Pokemon’s rag to a passing trainer, who went home and died painfully that very night.”
If you think the Stufful entry is wierd, wait until you hear about how foxes and other canids communicate in the same way IRL. it's why they always sniff each others' rears in greetings.
the ninetales US entry:The reason it guides people all the way down to the mountain’s base is that it wants them to hurry up and leave. mawile US:A cunning and terrifying Pokémon, its cuteness makes opponents let down their guard-and then it swallows them whole with its huge jaws.UM:It has two mouths. The big jaws on the back of its head can’t taste anything, so that’s the mouth it uses to eat foods it doesn’t like.mega form It has an extremely vicious disposition. It grips prey in its two sets of jaws and tears them apart with raw power.
My personal favorite Dex entry is Absol's Ultra Sun entry: "The only thing unlucky about Absol is its appearance. It protects fields and warns people of disaster, so one ought to be grateful for it." I just like how the Pokedex is telling people to be grateful to absol after it's been accused of causing disasters it tries to warn people about.
I love that they decided to call drampa the "placid" pokemon... if anyone out there gets the chance, please name your drampa "Trogdor". (or Puff; either one will do).
Machoke's Ultra Moon's entry basically adds the fact that artists use it as their models. Cause people want a Renaissance style marble statue of a lizardman bodybuilder/wrestler.
Wait, if you need a strong bond with your Pokemon to mega evolve them.... But most megas are suffering.... Maybe you need a strong bond with your pokemon so that they still fight for you, even when you put them through Mega Evolution?
I was thoroughly amused by this video! Thank you! I can imagine how some of this went. “Renae, I’m gonna borrow your copy of Moon for a bit.” *chucks Sun and Moon in the bin* (to self: that was a perfect shot!) *scrambles to retrieve boxes from the bin* I absolutely loved the entries for Eevee and Bouncesweet. The bobble-head imagery was perfect. Thanks for another entertaining video.
Another silly one, Alolan Ninetales's entry in Ultra Sun: "The reason it guides people all the way down to the mountain's base is that it wants them to hurry up and leave."
I wanted to see entries for the Starter Megas. Especially Zard, considering just how much they hyped him up for being able to Mega evolve seriously, having Mega X appear like that outta nowhere was almost kinda touching.
Y'know, something about Drampa being the "Placid Pokemon" and how it burns the houses of bullies down is just hilarious to me. I suppose it's the sheer juxtaposition. Anyway, great video!
Let's not forget Lucario's Dex entry in Ultra Moon:
"Lucario reads its opponent's feelings with its aura waves. It finds out things it would rather not know, so it gets stressed out easily."
they know
Man, gen 7 games are full of relatable characters. I identify as a Nanu-Ninetales hybrid.
nnnNNNNOOOOO STOP READING MY FEELINGS LUCARIO
Drampa: The super effective anti-bullying program.
My favorite comment so far.
The only way it could be better is if it made sure the bully stayed home. Inside the burning house.
I keep misreading his name as Danganronpa :/

It's not all doom and gloom.
Mega Pinsir (Ultra Sun):
After Mega Evolution, it becomes able to fly. Perhaps because it's so happy, it rarely touches the ground.
not to mention that its non mega entry in US mentions that it actually gets along very well with Heracross in Alola
on the heartbreaking side, though, is Amaura:
"Amaura was restored successfully, but it's not expected to live long because of the heat of the current environment."
iamabucket13 did you read the part where it gets even more depressed when it turns back?
I think mega kangaskhan has one about it being happy seeing it’s child grow up. But another one says it’s worried about it’s future if it can only fight.
iamabucket13 I'd love to see a happy Pinsir
....
My favorite is Aerodactyl's Ultra Sun entry: "Restored from DNA found in amber, this Pokémon exhibited ferocity that was greater than expected. Some casualties resulted. "
Jurassic Park!
I distinctly remember naming my Aerodactyl Chaos in an US Nuzlocke for this reason
Shoulda gone with Goldblum....
just a normal day in the SCP office
Zorua- Ultra Moon: If a normally talkative child suddenly stops talking, it may have been replaced by Zorua.
windwalker14 I really like this one because you catch Zorua at the trainers school. You know what that means....
windwalker14 red never talks.
I guess he hasn't learned to add talking to his illusions yet. I remember in BW2 you can talk to a hiker that tells you about Zoroark before revealing that he's a Zoroark and running off.
Raichu, Ultra Moon: _Because so many Trainers like the way Pikachu looks, you don't see this Pokémon very often._
That's just mean. I've always liked Raichu better, it's so big and squishy.
Raccoon Child the regular? Or the pancake one?
TheHammerGuy regular no pancakes
Well it's true
Is...is that a real entry?
I love how Drampa looks like a Hippie and then it suddenly commits arson.
DammitSinged Well hippies need a perfect fire source for their blunts.
well since it's burning people i guess you can say he's starting burning man festivals
Is...Nintendo trying to tell us something?
Yo I need one to call Dadbriel now.
Drampa. Redefining the phrase "420, Blaze it!"
my headcanon is that when gen 6 said Mega Evolution required a strong bond, THIS is what they meant. Not a strong bond to activate, but a strong bond to not let the power flow out uncontrollably
There's actually a whole arc in the anime that supports and all but confirms this theory, so good job on that one 👍
Yea that's what I think a strong bond to keep all that awesome power under control
Bounsweet has it hard. No wonder Tsareena is kinda sadistic, with her Ultra Moon Pokédex entry saying she laughs every time she kicks something
it's Magikarp syndrome all over again
Bewear too. Gen 7 has a lot of revenge.
Tsareena learns Power Whip in USUM too. “Sadistic” doesn’t even cover it...
Tsareena is just enjoying that sweet sweet revenge that she wanted, after all that torture.
Tsareena can only be female, so "she" is correct in this instance.
Mega Ampharos's Ultra Sun entry reads:
"Excess energy from Mega Evolution stimulates its genes, and the wool it had lost grows in again."
Unlike so many others, nothing bad, cruel, or horrifying happens to Ampharos when it mega evolves. No, it just becomes

Adam Smith some good news
And yet, despite it becoming part Dragon when it mega evolves, it cannot learn a Dragon Type move. smh!😑

I'm a big fan of Paras's Ultra Moon entry:

There should be a male evolution of salandit that evolves because you feed it a certain amount of pokebeans and level it up
Tomato TCG ya know, that could ACTUALLY work
Their genes are already hard-wired to prevent male evolution. Eating nothing but beans doesn't help.

Alex Flansbury Schools have bullying problems.
Cue government making sure that every single child owns a drampa.
Huh but... I know the boring answer is "lt's a video game" but if all that's stopping Male Salandits from evolving not being well fed, can't a trainer remedy this by taking care of them?
They've probably adapted to not evolving.
Bowserslave yeah but that'd mean gamefreak would have to take time to do something cool with it and not make it weird chicken legs mic crazy hands
It might be a case of genetic incapability. The males spent so long going hungry that even being full and nutritious again can't undo the damage.
In order to supplement the diets to their bodies? I could believe that, maybe if they evolved if they gave all their food they wouldn't have enough to eat and just die.
It would've been really cool if there was one locked behind feeding it.
Mimikyu got THREE sad/creepy new entries!
-Disguised Form (Ultra Moon): A gust of wind revealed what hides under this Pokémon's rag to a passing Trainer, who went home and died painfully that very night.

Drampa: Gunshot screams explosion I sleep.
Child is being bullied
*REAL CRUD*
Bully is 2 miles away
*_F L I G H T_*
Kameron and Carl shitcock
Drampa's entry. I'm getting Flame Hyenard flashbacks.
And X7 coming to the switch
Drampa: "Oh so it's *YOOOOOOOU* causing this child's SUFF-FER-RING! So if I tear you to pieces, the PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIN, will stop?!"
BURN TO THE GROUND!
Minus Bros. BUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRNNNN!!!!!!
BUUUUUUURRRRRNNN BUUUURRRNNN BURRRNN TO THEE GROUNDD!!!!!!
In defense of Mega Evolution (at least for my boi): "After Mega Evolution, it becomes able to fly. Perhaps because it is so happy, it rarely touches the ground." - Ultra Sun, Mega Pinsir Dex Entry.
[Happy tear]
Drampa's a ride or die type of Pokemon. Gotta respect that, on some level
Geez, with all these terrible entries about Mega Evolution, I'm surprised we didn't get something along the lines of:
"Mega Ampharos's hair contains the DNA of dragons. It has taken over its host mind, making it nothing but a ruthless killing machine."
Or...
"Mega Gallade has become a ruthless monster of carnage. The only thing keeping it from running loose and destroying everything in sight is the cape on its back."
Or how about...
"Mega Evolution increases Mega Audino's hearing by 7,000,000,000 percent. It keeps a smile on its face to mask all the pain and agony it hears upon transformation."
And maybe even...
"Additional gemstones grant Mega Diancie more power. The excessive pains growing these stones are felt even after reverting from Mega Evolution."
Can't wait until next gen gives us all the tragic tales of the failed attempts to form Mega Flygon!
Austin Argo IF THERE WAS ONE!
Austin Argo Here's a made-up one for Mega Flygon:
"The flapping of its gigantic wings creates a perpetual cyclone of dirt and sand around itself. It blinds enemies and prey so painfully, they don't see Mega Flygon's claws savagely tearing them apart."
These comments deserve to be actual PokeDex entries. Seriosuly, this is some great writing.
+Heracross X Jayyyyysus, man, that is disturbing. *pukes off to the side.*
Mega Tyranitar just sounds very painful. Also, am I a horrible person for wanting to see Mega Metagross fight like its dex entry suggests? I’m genuinely curious to see how that would actually play out.
Drewtwo Probably the death by bunnies in blood c
"It tears opponents to shreds with the claws on its legs and back"
That's for Dusk Mane Necrozma, but you get the idea.
Same. They mention the intelligence boost too so I imagine he'd just be looking out for the most brutal places to strike.
Xx_Lunaroo_xX Actually, you could be a lot further away from the actual Pokedex entry, although it's much milder than your description. It just sheds its fur and gains combative instincts.
Since it has powerful psychic abilities I can imagine brutal mental manipulation and violent telekinesis-fueled ragdolling.
Drampa is going to burn your house down! WITH THE LEMONS!
J hart they aren’t flaming lemons tho. He doesn’t want a forest fire.
_Once again, Sephiroth completely misses the joke._
I know the joke, Its Cave Johnson in Portal 2.
The fact that you have the Aperture Science logo as a profile picture makes this so much better.
@J hart Profile picture checks out.
I laughed so hard at "Y'all need Arceus"!!
Joel Yustman, wait if Arceus is the God Pokemon, wouldn't New be the Jesus Pokemon?
Mega Evolution seems pretty cruel for something that is supposed to signify the bond between trainer and pokemon.
It got an EDGY RETCON.
Because they wanted to advertise Z-Moves I guess?...
In its defense, you kinda NEED to have a REALLY strong bound so your Pokémon don’t hate you after the mega evolution.
If Lucario's entry that makes a nod to R34 isn't shown in at least one of these videos, I am going to piss myself to sleep
Outsiders: Pokémon is just so kid friendly I can’t get into it.
*read the Pokédex to them*
Outsiders: dude, this Pokémon thing is kinda messed up. What’s wrong with you?
I wish I had a Drampa during my childhood
Hades Pretty-face yeah me too that's exactly what I thought when it registered in the Pokedex and I read its entry
My favorite Dex entry would have to be Ekans from Ultra Moon.
It swallows bird eggs whole, but said eggs can occasionally get stuck causing Ekans to faint.
*reads mega evolution dex entries*
*somehow throws away mega stone in game*
Never again...
good thing i never used mega evolution in SM and USUM....well except for that one time in USUM Battle Agency :')
Idc, the mega Pokèmon will suffer, they are merely tools for victory
Deku The mighty
Ow the edge
mega stones would be banned irl for sure
lvl5Vaporeon I don't ever recall that being edgy was a bad thing ;)
Cubone’s not depressing Pokédex entry: Cubone finds humans to play with. It hugs tight to the human it finds at night because it cries for its dead mother.
It's weird how you can't get rotom in Alola, yet you have a _Rotom_ Dex.
USUM did make Rotom one of the Island Scan Pokémon, if that counts.
Wish you had picked the US entry for Goodra.
"It's very friendly toward people. If you grow too close to it, Goodra will hug you with its sticky, slime-covered body. *Don't get mad.*"
Like, I don't know whether the game is mocking me or warning me.
moviemaster8510 both
I read that and interpreted it as the Dex threatening you, "Don't you DARE hurt this hug monster's feelings."
Nice selection, JWittz! Though, can we please discuss Oranguru's Ultra Sun Dex entry at some point? How has this entry not been making the rounds or even gone viral??
"It normally spends its time meditating in the treetops. It throws Poké Balls and gives other Pokémon orders as it pleases."
Uh, a Pokémon ordering other Pokémon around isn't so surprising (as with Vespiqen and Combee or Salazzle and Salandit, or a pack of wild Mightyena, for example)... but _throwing Pokéballs?!!_ Where is the line drawn between a Pokémon and a Trainer, at this point? Could Oranguru become Pokémon Trainers? What are the implications of a Pokémon being a 'Trainer' to other Pokémon???
Giraffes_Are_Awesome dude there is one pokemon episode that Pikachu almost capture Meowth using a Luxury Ball
It’s a reference of how in real life orangutan can mimic human behavior, like using utensils or even washing clothes.
It'd be a Pokémon Trainer. Yes.
Now I’m getting images of an Oranguru challenging and defeating the elite four.
Pokémon Trainer Oranguru challenges you to a battle!
AKA Necrozma uses a Spirit Bomb to make the living thing on the other side not living anymore
russell butler what?
If you haven't seen Dragon Ball Z, you probably won't get the reference.
russell butler I know what your referencing but how does that help everyone is good?
Hey, not every Mega Evolution is bad:
Mega Lopunny's Ultra Moon entry: "Mega Evolution awakens its combative instincts.
Darwinian evolution
Maybe Game Freak would soon introduce a male Salandit Evolution that has the biology that that Salandit grew to be so hungry, it left the pack to find food and grew to become one of the most ruthless Pokémon in the (Insert Region Name Here) Region.
So male Salandits can't evolve due to being underfed?
And they can't evolve if we give them treats in the Pokemon care mode (forget the name right now) because...?
because they don't actually eat it. Each time you save and quit, your male Salandit spits up his food, escapes his Pokéball and goes and feeds the females.
same case for male combee
@TheIOFG The Pokemon canon never provided a reason as to why male Combees can't evolve.
Pokémon Refresh is only beans. Eating only one kind of food is still malnutrition.
That beginning bit ages better and better with each year
No worries everyone, almost all the other mega dex entries are just as horrible😘
Beau Bezemer What about the mega legendaries?
Mega Ampharos and Mega Lopunny aren't bad at all.
Fan-flippin'-tastic! ; u ; *[Goes and cries in a river, to never be seen again]*
Cherry Chocolate I said almost😊
Firegaminggeek I think they are alright.... but we only have 2 mega legendaries so how would I know?😁
They set up that Ghastly Pokedex entry all the way back in Diamond and Pearl just to have it pay of several generations later. Some people at Game Freak have some real commitment to the Pokédex.
The Salandit description is interesting, it gives the possibility of maybe a friendship based evolution for male Salandit, or something similar.
Drampa looks like a muppet.
Felicity Swan nope he a moppet
So does Ekans
We're burning a child alive YAAAAAY!
Hes a dragon grampa
Or he looks like he’s from Elmo lol
Jesus Christ game freak really doesn't want you to use mega evolution anymore and just forget about it.
*whispers* they want you to use the z moves.
(whispers) Items like silk scarf work better in the long term.
Omegagreen Labs true. Some of them are more efficient than the stones ans z crystals.
Z-moves almost guarentee a KO
With the bulk this meta has, you can't always win with Life orb or....scarves...and get beat back by either a hard hitting attack or trick room.
sure you can make the arguement against some megas that the normal form is better off with a different item but I've turned plenty of battles with a z-move to take out a potential sweeper or wall
*Metagross Mega Evolves*
*The most brutal and scarring Pokémon battle in existence ensues*
Did not expect another one of these :D
*IN THE BIN IT GOES!*
Seriously, no national Dex was a shame. With all the legendaries you can get your hands on it would be so hilarious.
Oh geez those mega evolutions D: I'm throwing away all my stones lol
It's a joke my dear
It's fake news cause alolan region has local z-moves and they are promoting it instead of mega evolution.
Here's a made up one for Mega Gallade
"It's blades become even sharper and its fighting style becomes more deadly. It gains a huge fascination in card games"
card games?
Sneky_meme_man
Reference to how people joke about Mega Gallade's blades looking like Dual Disks from Yu-gi-oh
Gallade’s Galladite is reacting to the Mega Ring!
*Mega Evolves*
Mega Gallade: “It’s time to D-D-D-D-D-D-DUEL!”
"It also gains a fascination of dragon type pokémon, especially those that are white and have blue eyes"
So Reshiram, basically?
Mega evalution is scary. Why gamefreak. Why most you make going mega so awful.
I love scizor so melting is depressing
Just remember... It's just Rotom Trolling the player by making crap up.
Michael Wilson probably do to the fact that mega evolutions stem from the dead pokemon of the war
Also, they're trying desperately to make people care about Z-moves (personally, I do not)
Michael Wilson A popular fan-theory is that Alolans are rather anti-Mega Evolution, so the Dex entries are little more than propaganda.
For some reason, I love Paras' pokedex entry, the repeated use of bug just makes me giggle.
Great job on the video
Don’t worry, I’m sure no National Dex is just a temporary thing until they move onto the Switch, obviously way more powerful hardware can store more Pokémon than ever!
I got news for you.
why were there so many spongebob references:
the rock song at the end
the plankton analysis
and the squidward and mr krabs whispering gifs
Glody Gbayere
Because its funny.
That Stufful thing is actually somewhat true.
Panda bears actually rub thier bottoms on trees for other pandas to follow the scent or to communicate. They usually do this when they're ready to breed.
Ultra Moon Mimikyu - A gust of wind revealed what hides under this Pokémon’s rag to a passing Trainer, who went home and died painfully that very night.
can we just talk about one of Alolan Ninetales' entry with it saying it willingly helps people because it wants them to 'hurry up and leave'?
I have a feeling I shouldn’t have made fun of my brother when he wanted a Drampa on his team
LOL, the clip you used to advertise your twitch was priceless
Great, Now Ghastly will forever gonna be nicknamed "Plankton" lol
Personally, I believe Eevee's Dex entry means a more subtle change, i.e. a JWittz-owned Eevee growing a slightly thicker tuft of fur on its chin and maybe getting cute "spectacle" markings around its eyes to mimic glasses.
That bonus round. WTF!?!?
And this is why Ash doesn't use Mega Evolution.
A person with a name Ash has Ash Greeninja so he DOES use mega evolution
Pokemon Moon - Mimikyu: “A gust of wind revealed what hides under this Pokemon’s rag to a passing trainer, who went home and died painfully that very night.”
If you think the Stufful entry is wierd, wait until you hear about how foxes and other canids communicate in the same way IRL. it's why they always sniff each others' rears in greetings.
That use of panteras death rattle for the mega round was a good touch.
Matthew B isn't it actually pre hibernation which is like another version of death rattle
Yes, and the escalating tone of his voice as he explained the entries made it grow to hilarious.
the ninetales US entry:The reason it guides people all the way down to the mountain’s base is that it wants them to hurry up and leave.
mawile US:A cunning and terrifying Pokémon, its cuteness makes opponents let down their guard-and then it swallows them whole with its huge jaws.UM:It has two mouths.
USun Broken Mimikyu is just heartbreaking how was it not included?
I love how we spent the entirety of Gen 6 making Mega Evolution this cool, exciting new thing and then Gen 7 literally makes it seem worse than arson.
Drampa is old trogdor confirmed
Trogdor was a man...I mean, he was a dragon man...
AND TROGDOR COMES IN THE *NIIIIIIIIIGHT*
I love that they decided to call drampa the "placid" pokemon... if anyone out there gets the chance, please name your drampa "Trogdor". (or Puff; either one will do).
No wonder a Pokemon has to trust it's trainer before mega evolving happens. I'd be untrusting too if it hurt like heck to get a power boost.
“Renae, I’m gonna borrow your copy of Moon for a bit.” *chucks Sun and Moon in the bin* (to self: that was a perfect shot!) *scrambles to retrieve boxes from the bin*
I absolutely loved the entries for Eevee and Bouncesweet. The bobble-head imagery was perfect. Thanks for another entertaining video.
you can eat human waste with Alakazam's spoon and it'll taste delicious, yehp
That's not the first thing I'd jump to but sure.
Scott Elder Two abra's, one cup.
That’s actually the first thing I thought of when he read that part.
I need a psychiatrist.
"A lonely person like you should be Cubone." -- Mystery Dungeon personality quiz.
It gets way more messed up the longer you think about it.
Drampa: How was school today?
Kid: A kid pushed me...
Drampa: *Grabs a lighter*
Another silly one, Alolan Ninetales's entry in Ultra Sun: "The reason it guides people all the way down to the mountain's base is that it wants them to hurry up and leave."
Honestly, the mega evolution Dex entries are just awful? who wrote the Alolan Pokedex entries in game?
Tumblr
Considering Rotom is a ghost pokemon that loves messing with electronic devices, I'm positive a lot of these entries are just Rotom screwing with us.
OminousArtist ikr
For a mechanic meant to signify the bond between trainer and Pokémon, Mega Evolution seems like a hellish existence to force your pet to undergo.
I love the Pokédex because it provides practically an entire backstory for every Pokémon there is.
So Game Freak really... REALLY regrets mega evolution.
I almost spit my drink at the eevee pic overlay
0:28 You ain't seen nothin' yet, 2017...
Man. Weird/creepy Pokédex entry videos are so nostalgic for me. So great to see another new one!
I know he doesn't like to cover previous Pokemon, but I'm surprised he didn't look at Mimikyu's Ultra Sun entry.
Enjoyed all these so far over the years, hope to keep seeing more as time goes by.
Now I'm curious to see what would have been other Mega dex entries. Namely Rayquaza, Pidgeot and Mewtwo.
I wanted to see entries for the Starter Megas. Especially Zard, considering just how much they hyped him up for being able to Mega evolve
seriously, having Mega X appear like that outta nowhere was almost kinda touching.
Y'know, something about Drampa being the "Placid Pokemon" and how it burns the houses of bullies down is just hilarious to me. I suppose it's the sheer juxtaposition. Anyway, great video!
Jesus Drampa. You could just give bullies a snappy dragon breath and leave. Don’t go all tf2 pyro on them.
6:52 Ok, using Pantera over the discussion of the Mega Evolutions' Dex Entries made my day so much.
