wow what a collab
So from this you are 28mm guy? always thought the look of your shots are kinda 35, whats your preferred lens?
ioe giving up that m10 for a day, i cant believe it
Joe, maybe, You are the best analog photographer in the world! Your photo and instagram profile is amazing. WOW
What a throwback
@@twiceviceasnice yikes
film is dead now guys rip, digital boys 4 life
NegativeFeedback how could you betray us gergo
Someone call the men in white coats!!!
Gang gang gang
April fools
Fuji acros 100 is at least. I really hope thats an april fools joke
at 3:29 ioe in 2018 was like: Wow there are people wearing a mask, i need to get this shot😂
BUT WHO WERE THE COOL GUYS YOU MET UP WITH ALONG THE WAY
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a collab video with our George (if not done already). I'm a huge fan of both youse channels, and would love to see it!
Asking the real questions
Love the subtle tone of your videos.
Mild considered attitude. Gentle grading. Honest, non bombastic etc.
Inspiring me to get out my tlr again!
can’t wait to see the American road trip stuff!
yessss two of my favorite photographers in my favorite city... pure gold
Gorgeous pictures, so inspiring. Thanks guys
Really lovely pictures, as always
Two of my favorites teamed up! love it
The exact video I´ve been waiting for.
Wow the photos from the M6 look way more incredible. Great video!
I really enjoyed this video because you captured fantastic photos. So many videos on RUclips will show "street photography" however the photographs are always from behind the subjects. I like that you stepped up and captured people head on. Well done.
Definitely the strongest pics i've seen from you on an episode of Negative Feedback. 28mm plus close proximity is beaut
Great vid! I like your comments about digital vs film especially in post. Which led me to wonder what your film post process is like. Do you ever scan yourself or edit scans you get back from the lab? Thanks!
george your street photography has really improved! some awesome shots of people in chinatown
that was honestly such an interesting and helpful video, thanks for that. i´ve been into photography quite a while now and the creative aspect is not as hard for me, but i struggle with the technical realization so it´s helpful to see how you do that in other videos! (btw you have such a cool face, i just wanted to mention that wow)
If I'm just starting in photography what should I learn first and what camera is best suited for a beginner?
I was trying to be focus on the cameras, but I was blown away by your cuteness
Check out the M8. It totally changed my attitude towards shooting digital. The B&W are pretty darn close to film like and the colors straight out of camera JPGs are great. It will mess up your standard focal lengths to slightly longer though. 28mm being 35mm and so forth. Picked mine up for US $1k.
this is the video that I've been waiting for. collab with one of my fav photographer..
greay video guys. thank you for sharing this
I love my m10! Picked it up two months ago. Been on my neck every day.
Where in the American South are you heading? The Blue Ridge Parkway to Asheville NC is beautiful, and if you do a serious road trip, taking I-40 west all the way to Albuquerque NM, with side-trips away from the Interstate to the small towns will net you fantastic barbecue, grasslands, desert, Route 66, canyons, and get you close to Death Valley and the Sierra Nevada mountains along Hiway 395. If you can do a bit of day hiking (12-15 miles), places like Mount Whitney, Kearsarge Pass, White Mountains, and Yosemite are all along it. Life-changing vistas if you can swing it.
love this, bit of a change, and can you shoot in surrey, its where i live and boxhill, huge mountains
Any chance you will be selling more editions of the first two Negatuve Feedback zines?
What procedure do you use for the colour editing on those photos… They look gorgeous!
where do u usually get the film to develop and scan in london?
Cannot wait for the road trip vid
what film did you shoot with on the M6. Looks clean. Nice video as well, just got backing into shooting the Leica
Absolutely great video dude. What film did you use ?
Cheers from France
So happy to see you collab!
Also the results are sooo good
Have you ever shot with the minolta x-700?
Nice video, cameras and photos.
Very nice video! M10 and M6, digital and film.
looking forward to see u guys in the lab again.
That whatever you want guy seems nice
What a wonderful commentary. I like your street snap. It was very helpful. Thank you. I also like Leica on RUclips.
Is the grain wearing camo coz I can't see it?
please do a video on how you came to take pictures for a living ! x
What film did you guys use in your leica m6?
I've been wanting a NY meetup with you guys! Next time let me know! We have quite a few people wanting it for a bit!
Some of those portraits were nice!
28mm is an interesting one, it's got some very unique characteristics as a field of view. It's got the same field of view as the iPhone, which makes a lot of sense to me because like 'getting a lot in' is something desirable from the majority of casual shooting, but 28mm isn't so wide as to present the challenges of shooting an ultra wide lens like 20mm downwards, where you've never close enough to your subjects, you've got to get really close and take advantage of the perspective distortion etc.
With a 28mm, it's often a bit too long, or a bit too wide. But then if you use it well it can be incredibly versatile, providing just a touch more framing than a 24mm and a little more room than a 35. It feels kind of the widest lens possible which still maintains a field of view which is 'normal'
35mm it’s the most balanced lens, a good 35 is all you need
I really think you should come to south wales in the summer it’s not far and it has amazing urban areas and beaches
I probably will! Hoping to travel a lot more round the UK soon
Stellar review, guvnor.
Keep up the good work.
I like the wide shots the best!
Looking forward to the video with matt day
another cool video mate.....don't like any of the photos however.... veery snap looking. Keep up the good work
NegativeFeedback. Do you prefer film photography over digital photography? And; if so, why?
Hi George, if you ever get chance to shoot with a Leica MD you should try it. It's the closest film-like experience a digital camera can offer. No LCD screen or menus to distract you. Just a pure shooting experience like the M6. My friend has one and loves it. I still have my M6 :-)
Have you not tried your own lens on the M10?
My favorite photographer ♥️
I looove this! I recently found your channel and I am honestly obsessed, I have literally watched every video haha. :) I've been into shooting film for a while but recently it all got a bit more serious and I want to invest in a scanner who can scan negatives but just things like drawings as well. I got my eyes on the Canoscan 9000F mark II, and just a little question; are there any people who have it and recommend it? There are so many mixed reviews on the internet and even though I'm pretty sure I would love to hear some people about it. So if anyone has it, please let me know! And again, lovely video and I love love love your whole channel. Simply amazing!
That's the scanner I have! That is the scanner that was recommended to me by my Camera shop. It's great, I very much like it! Very easy to use, and way more affordable then some of the other nicer scanners on the market.
I recently bought the epson v600 to scan my film and it was perfect. The details you can get from the epson i outstanding. scanning b&w is much easier as compared to colour negs. you can check out a short review i posted on my site. www.kelvin-yee.com/blog/2018/3/18/epson-v600-best-bang-for-the-buck-film-scanner-for-film-photographers
I would recommend the epson v600 scanner.
If you want to add samples do it, but leave them @ full res. what am I gonna see on these tiny, postage stamp status scans?
you might wanna check this lovely site:
www.filmscanner.info/en/FilmscannerTestberichte.html
I have a 9000F ii and I'm okay with the results, nothing to write home about, but decent enough for insta if you're willing to spend the time to figure it out, on the other hand I'm really itching for more quality and better resolution now, which a proper film scanner can give you, for example a nikon coolscan puts out an efective resolution of 3900ppi, where as the canon 9000f ii even if scanned at 4800ppi only gives you effective resolution of only 1700ppi.
then again, the nikon scanner is the cost of a car, but alternatives like a reflecta rps 10 can put out effective resolution of up to 4300ppi.
so as you can see, the field of scanners is brought and you have to calculate your budget with what your exactly scanning to find the best suitable one. also dont forget to get an IT-8 chart to properly calibrate your new scanning device. have fun scanning :)
I have a Pakon f135+ for 35mm, it's amazing. Not super high-res but colour is excellent. Flatbeds are ok for medium format but terrible for 35mm, shadows just turn to mush. In saying that if you have to go a flatbed for budget reasons try to stretch for an Epson over the canon.
What font do you use for your channel?
I'm eager for you to be in New York again. Your photographs had a New York kind of life with a George expression. I suppose that's to be expected. Oh well.
What film was used in the M6, I really like the color tones
Scottie McElhenny most likely portra 400
Nice video - I am with you on the 28mm, I love 35mm, but more because of flexibility.
I am not with you on the M10 files, if you think the DNG's are flat, try a few other digital cameras. i recently had hands on with the M10, and the files out of camera didn't need masses of work to get publishable. I shot about 100 shots, and processed the useable ones in about fifteen to twenty minutes, and only went back on two of them to tweak further (because my editor told me too.. lol).
Anyway if I ever have the cash spare, an M10, and a 35mm Summicron are a perfect match.
always gassed when you drop a new vid
ur portraits of joe were so good
aw man, I knew I saw you in SOHO that day! I wanted to say hi but convinced myself that it probably wasn't you
these videos make me feel like everything is okay again.
2:18 a good idea!
George, you should try a Fuji X-Pro2. I think you'd like it. If you come to HK anytime, I'll lend you mine any day.
I see that hangboard above your door. Been training?
Digital photography well gergo
I believe this will be the new high
Good comments, thanks
The Portra always looks so good
I know what you mean about the 28mm... I was using a 40mm and THOUGHT i wanted a 28 for my everyday carry, but once i started using it, all my pictures were less interesting, bland somehow. 35-40 is way better for street.
nahhhhh 28mm ROCKS !!!! :)
but i dont like 35 ... so ...
Thanks for posting but I just don’t get along well with Street photography as a genre.
Hello, and welcome to Positive Feedback
Quick tip, focus your eyes on the lens!
Cool video, don’t write 28mm off to hastily though, in certain cases invaluable for me
Digital cameras were out of my price range, that’s one of the reasons why I never really got into it. Started with film in high school and never looked back, but developing film is $$$
Great video and I really thought the shots through the plastic strips were excellent. Digital is definitely more work in post and takes some practice to get fast at editing and color grading. Film does all that for you so I can see the appeal. Spending time looking at the screen is because you were new to the M10 and not confident with it yet. You know you don’t have to check your screen if you don’t want to. If you had shot with a 50mm or 35mm you probably would have gotten more usable shots so don’t blame digital for that. Just think if you would have shot film with a wide angle for the first time. You would have wasted lots of film, chemicals and time.
Thought you sold the m6 awhile ago? Have you been doing more work on 35mm recently?
I did! But I may or may not have started using one again
I wise man named Bellamy Hunt once said, "All roads lead to Leica"
Cool video I love New York
You just can't get more hipster than this guy
That’s why we like him 😌
As of right now I do have the Leica M6. I am looking into buying the Leica M10 in the future (once I save enough money maybe sell my left arm) I am curious about when you said it was a plain looking picture straight out of the camera, can you provide examples on your next Leica M10 video? pretty please! thank you! Also I'm a cool guy. If you ever get a chance to go to Germany, I can be your cool guy, maybe not as cool as Matt Day, but maybe can be cool enough, hehe lol. Cheers! and Happy Shooting!
luvin your room
What is the film that was used in the m6?
portra 400
Is that ioegreer?
Cool guys, you have my abo and like!
digital boys 4 life 😂😂😂
great video though!
that M6 shot @ 2:33 was A-1.
You could try one of the digital M's that don't have an LCD on the back. To a "normal" person, I'm sure that sounds ridiculous, but to a film shooter, it seems to make some amount of sense. Sometimes I think if I get a digital M, I'd go with one of those, but I can't afford any digital M right now...
pissed I didn't get the notification!
28mm too wide? I use 17mm (Canon 17-40mm) and Samyang's 12mm (18mm Leica eqiv.) for Fuji on a daily basis. While using extreme telephoto lenses at the same time. It's all matter of perception...
Sure, the upfront cost of digital is higher (~1.5k for a Sony A7III or Fuji X-T3 or any other mid-range mirrorless), but shooting film can add up (cost of film, development, and time). Also, people who end up buying a Mamiya 6 or Hasselblad 500cm are throwing about 1.5k anyways.
I personally shoot film because photography is a hobby for me and it's more enjoyable and fun to shoot film. For professional work, I think film is largely a niche service and not even close to being able to handle modern professional demands.
1:12 and 3:27 favs 🔥
"You can call me whatever you want." Hi Donut.
What was your point and conclusion?
Wish I could afford an M10!
Dream team.
멋지다
2:26 me when i check my bank account after a night out
Thats your street stuff?
Hello, miss your videos!
Personally I think M6 provide better photos. The color is just so damn good.
That's the film, not the camera.
