Hi Luria, thanks for the great feedback! We will work to implement a faster maximum scroll speed in our next Camera Hub update, and have shared your other notes with the dev team as well.
@elgato - Thanks - great response and shows you listen to feedback. I've already ordered it - do we REALLY need to wait until December or could Santa bring us an early early Xmas present?
It is frustrating there are no tutorials on how to get a script to show up on my Elgato Prompter. I'm not understanding how to get the camera hub to show the script as big as I'm seeing in this video or scrolling itself.
Wow, this is best practice on how to present a video, carefully structured and delivered at the right pace. Not easy to do! Best part was the run through of use case examples, something educators often forget to do. Thanks Luria!
This could be a huge boon for remote workers! Connection with coworkers (and interviewing with possible coworkers) is difficult yet important, and this could be a big step up in being able to do that.
I have order one for just a week ago (Sweden) and might receive it already during next week - keeps my fingers crossed! This will be my very first prompter. Thanks for great videos Luria ⭐️
Luria, where is your vid about how to look natural on the prompter that you referenced in this vid. I don't think it's one of your end screen vids. THx
It's in production now. I'll be adding even more videos to this Playlist - ruclips.net/p/PLMwzFVPy_Z9tFm2gQz5C7euaHHtxpfCeO (sorry if it seems I jumped the gun, but knew that video is coming so for long term effect, wanted to get it into the video!)
Thanks for the video Luria! I see that you "hang" the prompter on your Lense. Aren't you worried, that the weight will damage your camera socket for the lens?
Nope not given the weight of the Prompter, but you can (and SHOULD) mount it using the secondary mounting option - I'll show that off on the "how to setup the Prompter" video coming soon!
@@calihawk82 I ordered Dec. 2 and last I heard, it is still March. Fingers crossed. I have a big new ongoing (and paid) project that is on hold until I get this. I debated buying one from a competitor because as soon as I have one I can start the project but none matched the features of the Elgato Prompter.
Your presentation is really smooth and professional. I saw on another video that this functions like a separate monitor for your computer making it more versatile than you might think. I got a small taste of that in the beginning where you briefly ran through some things you can use the prompter for but as a newbie to this I would have liked it if you slowed down just a little to explain what you were showing. But a wonderful video and I am likely to buy one. Just doing a little more research because this is really just for my hobby and has zero professional use.. as long as I'll use it I think it will be good but I sometimes buy gadgets and they just collect dust.
Thanks for this video! I discovered this product after finding your video, and was a perfect solution to what I needed. I wish this was available sooner! Currently it’s only available for preorder in December.
thanks for this short presentation of this device. even if i can see the value - i always build my studio up and down before i need it - that's why an integrated webcam would be better...
That's one of the awesome things about this is you can actually start with a webcam, but then continue to use it when you're ready to switch over to a different type of camera!
Love your videos on this & am excited by the product. In fact I gleefully ditched my Glide Gear last weekend! I was even OK being on the backorder list. But then I got an email from Elgato that said they're charging my card now. 😤 And then the shipping dates started slipping later and later. Sorry, not sorry, but I cancelled that order. I'll get one when they're in stock and ready to ship. I suspect it will be about the same time frame. And if not, ok - no productions from my studio will suffer while waiting. This is a 'nice to have' item, not a 'must have' for my studio.
With all the money that Elgato is charging you, they should at least have an Auto-Prompting feature that ONLY scrolls as you're speaking the words. I'll just continue using my iPhone app that can perform that feature. Thanks for the video. At least it helped me to understand that it should have been the FIRST KEY FEATURE that they offered. When they do offer that later down road, I'm sure they'll be some of these units on eBay that'll I'll be able to pick up used or like new for around $175-$195. Who knows, maybe a bit less.
QUESTION: I have a Mac Mini M2 Pro and I use 2 monitors. Does the teleprompter count as a 3rd monitor? Can I use it with this current setup without losing use of one of my monitors?
Yes, the teleprompter screen counts as a monitor. You'll want to check this out for help setting up that "3rd monitor:" support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/connect-an-external-display-mchl7c7ebe08/mac
@@LiveStreamingPros I think this is an important issue to talk about in a video. One of the Elgato videos I watched left the impression that they had gotten around this issue on Mac. If they in fact did not, then that's a big speed bump in the setup.
I know you're supposed to look around a little while you're reading off a prompter so that you look more natural on camera but doing it too much makes you look like you're avoiding the camera (or your audience) which feels even less natural than reading off the prompter.
Hey Luria, quick question, how far away from the backwall and from the front camera are you? What are you using to light the backwall, is it a small rgb light? How many lux? Pretty neat setup, I like it. All the best

I have been thinking about buying one.I want to use it for zoom calls, and zoom training. I have tried using my iPad, and better display to stream to a virtual monitor, but I can not get it to work, I'm wondering will this really solve this problem?
Yes, you can do that from Zoom (click up arrow on Video icon -> go to video settings -> click on/off 'Mirror My Video') or you can flip the view on the prompter itself.
Hi Luria! On Elgato's homepage, it says that the promter is not compatible with the kit lens E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS of my Sony ZV-E10 camera... can it be solved? I would love to use this prompter!😅
I believe the reason they say that is likely for ANY Zoom lens. Because this prompter attaches TO the lens, when it zooms (and often they zoom when powering up...) it's causing the lens and the prompter to move at the same time. If you have a zoom lens, and don't want to get a different one, I'd recommend attaching the prompter only when using it, after you power everything on. Kinda annoying, but...
Laura- thank you! I love the ability to make it a second monitor for video interviews - not text reading. I know you have the Sony ZV E10. I checked the adaptor rings and they didn't list a 40.5 which is what I need. UGH! Help. Is it compatible with my Sony?
Wow, i actually never would of thought of so many uses for a telepompter. I love my Parrot prompter, it does a good job but because you need a celphone tonuse it, you wont be able to do some of those other fancy tricks. Thnaks Luria.
I have a M2 Mac mini with two monitors connected by thunderbolt and HDMI. Will the display for the prompter not work right as a "third" monitor with my Mac since apple technically listed the max display output as two? I had an HDMI splitter before but it kept on messing up when I would turn on my camera so I had to switch it to a direct plug in for both monitors to get the best use with no issues. Would hate to lose a monitor when I use the camera or use a splitter again and have issues with my Mac not talking the right way
It would probably take some hacking in order to get the angle right, but really the bigger issue is the movement that you get with a gimbal, which would end up banging against the sides and giving your audience a view of the side of the teleprompter instead of what you want them to see.
You’d just want to mount it so when the lens is fully extended it’s not hitting the screen but there are various ways to mount it. I’ll include this in my setup from start to finish video coming soon!
Thanks, Luria...I'll be interested in seeing that video when it comes out. Could you please put a link to it here when that video is live? I'm having a hard time envisioning how that would work. I'm interested in the teleprompter so I can look at people on Zoom meetings for podcasts but also so I can use it for teleprompting/scripting -- but I need to be able to see the screen for blurring the background and setting the focus. Having a hard time envisioning how this setup would work. Thanks in advance. You're the best!@@LiveStreamingPros
