Wow, I had no idea having the bright white on the screen would affect the video so much! I remember hearing that warning but I appreciate you demonstrating it.
The Prompter is a brilliant piece of kit. It completely transformed my workflow, especially when teamed up with the Streamdeck Pedal. I love it. I have just downloaded the new voice control update. This is really promising. But it’s still a little glitchy. I recorded my latest video with it. It started really well, but then kept stalling. Hopefully, this will be ironed out. But even now it is so far ahead of anything else.
Der Prompter ist großartig, und ich nutze ihn selbst! Ich habe viele tolle Feedbacks bekommen, weil ich den Menschen direkt in die Augen schauen kann. Das macht enorm viel aus und kann ich jedem empfehlen.
I agree. The elgato prompter is 🔥. Especially for live streams. You can put chat on it so you can keep looking at camera. Great for interviews too so you can stare at the camera instead of the screen.
Glad you found the active listening and speed control helpful! Thanks for your feedback about the wired aspect-definitely a point to consider! - Hazel, PV Team
Thanks for sharing this excellent video, do this prompter have a memory or can be used with usb or needed to hook with a computer, i needed one with camera moving location to location?
Without the autoscroll as your talk this is semi useless. I hope it works well when it ships. I like the idea of it being a screen, but it needs to be pretty good since I currently use an iPad as a screen
Hey Justin. Great review. Question for you. Will this work with standard webcams? And if yes, how easy is the setup because it looks like it is designed to use cameras or their own webcam specifically? Thanks in advance.
But given that it has to be tied to a computer I don't see how it can be easily used in the field/on location or even elsewhere in the office away from computer or laptop. For me, that's the biggest drawback and why I still prefer a smartphone/tablet teleprompter. Ideally, I'm using a tablet and controlling from my phone.
@@seecraig I've heard the build quality on the Padcaster isn't great. Any thoughts on that? I've looked at the Smallrig teleprompter, but as this is my first foray into decent cameras and teleprompters it would cost me about $400 to build out a portable teleprompter using Smallrig components.
Will it work with a laptop? I once ordered the stream deck a few years back. For the life of me I could not get it setup on a laptop. But definitely need something like this
Your videos are always very helpful, but no one has made a video about my problem. I need help with a big problem. I have the Elgato Prompter, Facecam Pro4K60fps, the Elgato Streamdeck plus and I cannot find a way to be able to read from the prompter or even access it from either Zoom or StreamYard. I have the wavelink software and the camera hub installed, but nothing helps and I cannot find any RUclips videos that tell me how to put this all together and make it work. Thanks in advance.
I am highly considering getting it but I wanted to know. Can you use a filter with it? I wear glasses and don’t like the reflection of my monitors to show so I use a circular polarizer to record.
I don't have extra screen to monitor my dslr recording, (if i am in frame or not etc.) will i be able to view my dslr screen while this prompter is on?
Quick question: how do you make the text go faster or slower on the fly? I don't see a remote in the package. Anything possible besides the pedal system?
Sadly, this does not work with Linux, my main, daily-driver desktop platform (for the last 20 years). Elgato doesn't support any of their hardware on Linux, so you're left with random community projects to support oit (like the Streamdeck for example)
Is there a teleprompter you would recommend for screen recording? My use case is recording software installation videos to accompany user guides. I'd like to record my screen and face simultaneously (I'll likely use Canva for this) but would like to have a script and maintain eye contact with the camera.
I am in two minds to using this, as I'm not sure I will be able to read the screen from 2 meters. I have a podcast and not sure it would be helpful. Any suggestions?
If you have a smart phone or an iPad you could buy a Desview teleprompter like the the T3 for about half the price (or less). For reading text this option is fine. But if you want your teleprompter to be a second screen (for zoom calls or PowerPoint presentations etc)then you need to use a program like Spacedesk to connect your iPad and then mirror flip the screen. This works but it is a bit laggy. A better option is to buy a portable monitor with mirror flip but these are quite expensive. So price-wise the Elgato prompter is pretty good considering what you get out of the box and the convenience.

You can probably get a polarizer to help reduce reflections too

A fantastic informative review of the Teleprompter Justin and love 🥰 the video and love ❤ Justin & The Primal Video Team.
Thanks, David 😊 - Hazel, PV Team
This video did a better job of selling me on the product than Elgato‘s own marketing material.
Wow, thanks for the feedback! I’m glad to hear the video was so convincing. Enjoy using Elgato! 😊- Hazel, PV Team
The active listening and speed control is fkn awesome! I didn't know about that. Thanks for the review! Only downside is that it's wired.

Do you have a video on adding the graphics to the bottom of the video that shows us the timeline of the video?
Amazing review! Do you have any special tips for content recording while using something like an iPhone 13 Pro Max with a Rode VideoMic Me-L?
What tripod do you use that holds on your desk and install elgato/camera on it?

What's your preferred teleprompter for shooting outdoors without being tied to a computer?
Interested to also know your preferred teleprompter that doesn't need to be connected.

Its it true that the mp4 files produced by elgato teleprompter are limited to 640 x 480? Your videos look good. Did you produce them with elgato?
I’m not sure i understand your question.. i’m only using it as a screen to show notes or a script. i record to the camera behind the teleprompter
@PrimalVideo So the resolution of your videos is not limited by the elgato teleprompter. Correct?
Bro how to make 3d gaming overlay please make video to learn how to make 3d overlay
What software app do you use with this? I’m hearing the software that comes with it is not that great

You can change the font size to be as big as you need.
The prom is expensive, for those of us who have a thin wallet! What do you recommend then? Not everyone can afford this!
