This is my first time listening to this group. Very interesting take on this old song. Enjoyed all the instruments. I always thought this was such a happy go lucky song but it really isn't when you listen to the lyrics.
Thank you for this reaction 👍 I love Dead South, and this was amazing version of this song. It's their signature style to put a dark twist on the songs. Maybe that's why I love them 😄
Best version ever....love the minor key treatment , it really brings out the darkness in the lyrics.........yes as a fellow Aussie I grew up singing this song as nothing more than a ditty ................never again...........Dead South version for me :)
This song and your reaction deserve a lot more views and comments. So take this one :D I listen to this version a lot since they published it. I especially love also the video. Everything in one go. Just awesome David Hasselhoff I cant explain either, I don't think any German can :D Dead South is still not big enough here :D For me it is the harmony in a lot of their songs what gets me everytime I am listing to them. I even kind of like their version of Chop Suey and I really really dislike this song :D
I love how before reacting to the video you were talking about how dark the song really is, then to have this happen. Awesome reaction. Thank you. I love it too.
Just watched your reaction, wasn't this awesome? I love this group...Home Free is the majority of my Playlist, but sprinkled with Dead South, lol. Thanks 😊...enjoyed the double header!
In the Twilight Zone episode, It's a Good Life, Dan Hollis sings a couple lines of YAMS right before Anthony Fremont turns him into a jack-in-the-box and then wishes him into the cornfield. It's creepy.
I really love the pain in his voice in this song. Like in Broken Cowboy. I love when he sings with his soul. Love Dead South!
Mournful and menacing at the same time. A brilliant interpretation.
Do people are strange and they just 3/2/22 just released a cover of chop suey!!!!
What a fascinating arrangement. The minor chords really put emphasis on the sad lyrics. Wow! Great choice. I love Dead South. Thanks for the reaction!
God they make this song so sinister! Voices, instruments, cinematography holy shit🤦🏼♀️ Dark dark dark🖤🖤 So freaking good❤️

A German music promotor saw them early on in their career and signed them to a German tour. Been popular there ever since.
You're right, Saskatewan, Canada. Love this version.

The Dead South is the best thing to come out of Canada in a long time (IMO). They are even better live.
This is not Johnny cash cover of nin, but it is so well done!
"In Hell Ill be Good Company" is their best song in my opinion.
Really like this version!
I love love this song they way they sang it. It's the only version of this song I actually like so far. lol.
Check out Chris Stapleton wife version of you are my sunshine. Very good!
