I really hope these guys keep doing what they're doiny. They're the only current day musicians that I actually look forward to hearing what they put out. Amazing sound these guys have. Love it!!
I love The Dead South! As you said, they really are an amazing band. It was great hearing Danny take the lead on this. His raspy voice fit so well with the theme of the song. I always get a kick out of seeing him play that cello like a super-sized guitar! I also can identify with the theme of the song, not for black lung but for silicosis. My grandfather died of that from his work building the Bagnell Dam, which created the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.
Love these guys. Amazing music. This song was actually written by a good friend of theirs. His version was different than this but he wanted them to take it and make it their own.
Wow these guys are good. I like them and that's impressive since my normal preference is more metal/rock/alt etc. Asbestos was different it sometimes caused cancer decades later. Silicosis is a death sentence as soon as it starts.
Love this song. I lost an uncle to black lung disease a few years ago. BTW, love the St. Andrew's cross hanging on the wall behind you. Don't quite have mine up yet.
Such a tough way to earn a living. My father worked in the grain elevators for years and was the first workers compensation case for his lung issues. Sadly he passed away from complications to a lung transplant nearly 20 years ago. The song Keep The Wolves Away always hits hard. Since you’re in the vein of coal mining music, have you done You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive. It’s a fantastic song done by Darrell Scott and another version by Patty Loveless I believe. Both are top notch. Cheers to all from a kid who grew up in Sask At Chew An.
My uncles would come home covered in black coal dust everyday. My aunt actually made old fashioned lye soap so she could get he could clean. It’s bad stuff.
You should really do a reaction to “a song while you’re away” by Tyler Childers, it’s one of, if not, my favorite songs by him. I think you’d really enjoy it
Love your reactions! I think you would really like Marc Broussard 'Cry to Me' "acoustic version" or "Home" both are great and right down your alley i believe. Shawn James "Aint no sunshine" is another...i know you get tons of suggestions but maybe one day you can check these out. SY From Tennessee
Hi Pat. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. You havent done any Superfruit in awhile and I was hoping you would react to their GUY.EXE video. I checked your playlist and didnt see it.
Too bad Danny was forced to quit - dude on the cello. Google it. It’s very sad in more ways than one. Great song. 3 of my uncles worked in a coal mine. They all got black lung 😢

Actually just discovered these guys about a year ago, fell in love with them. Nothing better then guys playing string instruments. Love the sound.

One of my favorite "go to" bands. Regardless your mood, you can always listen to some Dead South.
Amazing! I love that song. Thank you for the great reaction. Can you imagine if Avi sang with them on a song?

The banjo player sings literally one line in “Heaven In A Wheelbarrow.”

If you like the videos, you definitely need to see them live. Their show is just fantastic.
It could easily serve as the opening song for a Borderlands game.
I'm watching you from Edinburgh, you have good taste in music and flags x 🏴💙🏴🤟👌

Actually got here 1st for a Great song!!! Family members died of Black Lung in West VA, so it's a bit cringe when brought up in any fashion.
Now check out Amigo the Devil. He tours with the Dead South. Very twisted lyrics.
Hey Pat!! Voiceplay dropped an incredible Frozen 2 medley that I think you'll really enjoy checking out!
HAHA! I get to see them next month!!! Super excited

Yessss the Dead South, bloody brilliant song. Gotta recommend a little bit of Paul Cauthen to you, as he’s pretty solid too.
