@@MsAnimefan95 Not only offended. I can already see Ivy cringing and rolling her eyes at her evil counterpart. xD It comes complete with the "so done of this crap" expression.
Alt!Fogado is genuinely unsettling. Hearing him express a desire to kill anyone connected to him, for no reason, without dropping his smile and cheerful attitude for even a second is really creepy.
Ngl, most of them ended up that way cause of their retainer’s death. So to prevent Timerra from becoming a vegetarian, don’t get Merrin and Panette killed

He'd actually be the more serious one and say something more along the lines of "As your lord, I will do my duty to ensure you have a peaceful rest once more." You can tell this due to his duel with Corrin in Birthright. Camilla on the other hand...well, she would most likely go insane with rage at her retainers being brought back as animated undead. Takumi and Leo are also serious, so, they would be only slightly more affected by being forced to fight against their animated retainers/friends/family. Same with Hinoka. It would be Sakura and Elise that would have the most difficulty with it due to how kindhearted they are. That is by going by their personalities overall.
@@forgerofsouls9126 Xander just kinda stopped functioning after accidentally slaying Elise. He just stood there, waiting for Corring to take him down. I suppose it might be similar-ish for his retainers. He might put up a fight, but will definitely have no drive at all.

Some of these are actually pretty sad, I especially felt bad for evil Diamant who felt like he couldn't be a great king. And then there's Alfred who's upset by having no muscles, and Ivy's reaction to the way evil Ivy talked was priceless.
@@skillshare385 isn't Fogdao easily one of the saddest? He's been corrupted beyond all repair. His sister is righteous, he must have been as well. At the very least, he wasn't that evil. When you kill him for the final time, he has a long final words and says 'thank you' in Japanese, but for some reason it wasn't translated properly.
I honestly can't even say evil Timerra is that evil, she's just a bit of a stick in the mud. Extremely dutiful and serious, but hardly evil. Fogado on the other hand, just wow. It really sheds light on how our Fogado always had good intentions when he acts all cheery
Not really evil. They just flipped the most dominant character trait for each character, and in some cases, that led to them being evil. Ivy normally worships the Divine Dragons, so here she worships the Fell Dragons and their followers are almost always evil. Then you get Hortensia and her retainers. All three of them are obsessed with standing out and other people's perception of them, so this world sees them become really passive and wanting to avoid standing out, which they do by quietly and meekly following Ivy's lead. In fact, I'd actually say Hortensia comes off less evil in this world than she originally did in the main game. Then you have characters like Diamont, who isn't evil in either world, but in ours, he comes across as a confident and capable leader, while Fallen Diamont is uncertain and fearful that he won't make a good King.
It interesting to see the differences between the royals. Evil-Alcryst despite being implied to want an assasination for the throne genually cares for his retainers, and is racked with guilt over their death. Evil-Fogado seems to have been a little more bloodthirsty and sadistic then the one we know. Evil Ivy was a giant piece of shit, but seemed to have some form of love for her retainers. And Evil Hortesia.... girl needs a hug holy shit
Alter Fogado Is mentally broken because he watched his retainers dying in front of him. For his dialogue with Timerra i don't understand if he had some quarrels or he didn't like her
@@philipboes1100 I really think that certain dialogue should just forego the fighting entirely. There's no world where Ivy would attack that version of her sister. I know them coming with you isn't Canon, but damn man... godamn..
I mean, after the fight against fell Timerra and fell Ivy, Alear learnt that they were corrupted. So, I guess Ivy wanted her sister's fell version to rest well.
ivy and kagetsu’s convo is my favorite. it shows exactly the type of thinking that led evil ivy to becoming the person she was. when elusian royalty are so cutthroat, of *course* her first reaction to kindness would be to assume it fake. she’s a total bitch because that’s how she was taught to survive. poor kagetsu got caught up with that, but his loyalty never faultered
Another explanation is that this world's Kagetsu might be tsundere. Because if he was just like the main game Kagetsu, it would've convinced Fell Ivy that his care for her was genuine. Fell Kagetsu being a tsundere would make sense as to why Ivy thinks he hates her, since he would be sending some mixed signals.
Royals: "Are you illusions? Corrupted? Why must I fight the people I love?" Player units: "Actually, we're from another world." Royals: "Imma pretend I didn't hear that"
To be fair, which would you believe first? The people you love have been resurrected as zombies by people known for resurrecting people as zombies, or they came from another world?
Part of the reason Fell Hortensia hits harder than the other Fell royals is that she uses her voice the same way your Hortensia does. She sounds _exactly_ like your Hortensia does when brokenly depressed, and Hortensia is depressed and serious on multiple occasions. A lot of the other royals sound so out of character that they don't hit the same way. They have the same voice, but they don't use it the same. But Fell Hortensia… yeah. She feels like she could have been your Hortensia, if things had gone differently.
Damn Zeno Robinson killed it with Evil Fogado. I love that Alter Alcryst even still thinking about how he couldn't protect his retainers. Is it just me but not all the retainers are opposites. It seems Louis still likes tea from Celine's mention and Jade still writes comedies. Yet the Solm and Elusian ones are opposite for most part.
I think it could also be where people have opposite fates instead of just personality. Mauvier, Alear and Veyle for instance. All three of them died in this alt world, but all alive in the regular world
@@OriginalGameteer yeah, it's not that they're all complete opposites, some just have certain aspects changed (and perhaps some, like Mauvier, are largely the same).
"It is enough for me to watch you die, knowing you destroyed this world!" "I'm not here for the world. I'm here for the people in it." That's a really good line from Alear. I"m surprised it doesn't get more attention.
Regular Ivy's convos against Evil Ivy and Evil Hortensia were my favorite. On one hand, you can hear that our Ivy is compeltely baffled and furious about Evil Ivy killing her father just like that. On the other, you can hear her heart break when she hears Hortensia so broken and meek. It shows that Ivy truly loves her country and her family.
My favorite interactions are the Fogado ones. It's not just for how comically evil he is, there's also the simple fact that he *knows.* Most of the other royals dismiss their mainline selves and companions as apparitions, but Alternate Fogado knows there's a parallel universe and revels in the possibilities of it. I would've also liked to see what another, less cartoonishly malicious alternate royal would've said if they knew.
"Drew like a dark, fucked up version of the engage royals haha. Just a glimpse into my dark reality. A full stare into my twisted perspective would make most simply go insane lmao"
Well, for me it's pretty clear that Ivy was just being poor judge of characters here. Afterall, he DID sacrified himself to save Ivy. And she say that Kagetsu is as fake as Ever, but ours actually just IS a cheery flirty good man. Or maybe I have that Impression since I Didn't read all his supports.... But considering both Ivy's reaction and Kagetsu's one, I tend to think that Ivy is more wrong than right.
@@coralieboucher7736 Another explanation is that Fell Kagetsu might be tsundere. Our Kagetsu is more open with his love for friends and allies. So a tsundere Kagetsu would certainly send mixed signals and, coupled with how harsh and deceptive the Elusian court, make Ivy think his kindness and loyalty to her were fake and him sacrificing himself was an excuse to get away from her.
this xenologue has convinced me that if Celine and Fogado completely lost it, they would slaughter everyone. Honestly, Ivy is so drastically different from her counterpart, I can’t see what made her go down this route in the other universe. Maybe she grew up to be like her mother.
Probably because she used to worship the divine dragon and with that dead all she got is Sombron. Take in consideration this world's condition is way worse than the original which to me makes sense why she would go down this route of complete insanity.
I notice something about celine and fogado A support really shown how they both can do anything "all the way" for their goal. This unique dialogue Alear and Celine really scared me, to the real celine too.
It would imply that in the FX version of the Alear vs Sombron war, Hyacinth joined the Pepsi army instead of Ivy. Furthermore, it may imply that Ivy ran off Hyacinth off his throne and took it for herself. And then started to go full Hera on Hyacinth's illegitemate children save Hortensia because staff mastery.
It's not a "something that happened made them this way" sort of thing. Their personalities are just mirrored (backwards) versions of the ones we know. They were always like this, they just happened to also be friends with Alear, who was probably also pretty messed up in this world.
Every other royal: *Each one criticizes their doppelganger in some way* The retainers: *Either sad to see their person they serve or in Alt!Ivy's case, just messed up* Alfred: *using his one braincell on muscles*
I feel so bad for Alfred. Man has had it rough and is having to fight those closest to him that he had thought had died already. That would mess anyone up.
Can I just say how much I love Madeline and Fell Nil’s interaction here? At the very end when he taunts her with how he “killed” Mauvier, she just absolutely *no-sells* him by reminding Nil that it was MAUVIER who made the decision to sacrifice his own life so the other Winds could escape. And Nil looks *genuinely surprised* at that, like it’s not something he considered. He tries to get under her skin and twist the knife, and she doesn’t give him that satisfaction. She doesn’t let him take credit for Mauvier’s sacrifice. I just…this game is HELLA flawed and even the DLC (my favorite part) is not perfect by any means but I just LOVE these characters *so much.* I did not expect to love the Four Winds (especially Madeline) as much as I did.
Seeing the brother's personalities switch is the craziest thing ever. Alcryt being confident and Diamont being a stressful wreck is honestly terrifying.
Fogado being the only person who really realizes how messed up and hard this would be wanting to hug it out. And Fell Hortensia needs a hug poor thing TT-TT
Yeah they are worse versions, but I can't help but feel bad for them after they witnessed their own friend's deaths, and I can't help but give Diamant a hug, but Alfred was hilarious.
Everyone: /commenting about their favorite / most memorable quotes Me: /can't get over the fact that this person orchestrated and guided Ivy to Cataclysm 3 units at 12:21 to get 3 quotes at once
I said this in a reply to a comment, but wanted to leave it here too in terms of how much I love the sublety of real Fogado conversing with corrupted Fogado: Maybe I haven't been paying attention to the fine details of the game, but I can't remember anything in the main game in terms of story or cutscene where a character's expression changes without them talking. Real Fogado's expression changes twice: from shock when he learns that Corrupted him is the assassin, to anger once he actually realizes what that means. It's a nice touch that makes them seem more lifelike, IMO
Have you seen regular fogado especially with Celine? They're both willing to be pleasant for the kingdom but are ruthless. Here it's the willing to be pleasant part. That part is a sham.
Honestly, given how our Fogado isn't even too surprised at how Fell Fogado acts, it's likely regular Fogado is capable of that too: but he's surrounded by people he cares about, and they balance out any ruthless tendencies he has. But without his retainers, with the stress of the endless warring, and with the extra warping effect on his emotions that being Corrupted has... it's all of his intellect and cunning without any morality to it.
@@daekieisms really? I got the impression that Fogado did seem pretty surprised, though I guess that shock could have just been related to real Fogado realizing that Corrupted Fogado was the hooded assassin. Maybe I haven't been paying attention to the fine details of the game, but I can't remember anything in the main game in terms of story or cutscene where a character's expression changes without them talking. Real Fogado's expression changes twice: from shock when he learns that Corrupted him is the assassin, to anger once he actually realizes what that means. @@Sonic2891 yeah really, Pandreo and Fogados support reveals Fogado is tired and fed up with everything, but he just bottles it up. Basically Pandreo and Bunet are there to help him vent. With his 2 best friends dead, his main support-line isn't there to keep his emotions in place
@Kris Marshall I agree with everything you said. I just meant that I think it's open to interpretation whether real Fogado's shocked expression is due to finding out that fake Fogado was the assassin, or that fake Fogado is capable of being an assassin implying that the real one is capable of the same
@@AzulStryer it just counters damage to them like usual. Nearly the entire xenologue is weak to anti-corrupted weapons as well. Sieglinde is extremely useful.
I love how because levels and classes are set, you can use the appropriate Lords and retainers against their respective Alt Lords. I used retainers I don't usually use so I could hear different dialogue options
These darker special conversations reminds me of the Future’s Past in Awakening and Heirs of Fate, but much more down to earth. I love every evil battle single conversation and it moved me a bit. I don’t even care that I haven’t played the DLC yet, I still loved seeing these battle conversations! Great coverage as always PM1!
Honestly love Fogado’s cause he has what I can only describe as a Henry-esque personality with making the pain seem like nothing and super blood and battle obsessed
Kind of sad that Veyle and Mauvier don’t have any interactions with these Fell Counterparts. Then again it’s also kind of understandable. Veyle was apparently killed some time ago, Mauvier is already part of the 4 Winds.
Ivy said that her mother was a cruel woman whose smile was just like a dagger waiting to be put in someone else's back so the evil Ivy must be like her mother.
"Hortensia… What has the Ivy of this world done to you?" That’s extremely! Very! Sad! Ivy’s hatred towards her alternate counterpart is seriously justified. Considering also how Alternate Hortensia has gone through this painful mess.
Man, these conversations are far more expanded on the idea of reflected ideas! Sound much more mature and darker to the conversation in the original Engage. Now we wait for the most important aspect for me, the music!
I love how all of the characters are complete opposites of what they're normally like, and also some of the retainers! For example, while the original Alfred would do things on impulse, the alternate one was more cautious. Original Celine was weary of happiness for some reason while the alternate one would do whatever it takes in pursuit of it. With the Brodian royals, Diamant was originally the confidant one and Alcryst was insecure, yet for the alternate versions, Alcryst is the confidant one and Diamant is insecure. Alternate Alcryst also looks down upon Diamant instead of idolizing him. Original Timerra went with the flow and did what she wanted, not caring whether or not people thought of her actions as being like a princess (even using herself as bandit bait) while the alternate version was super self conscious with Fogado, saying that she had to act like a queen. Also she's a vegetarian when the original loved meat (plus, her retainers were flipped as well) Original Fogado is super laid-back while his alternate version has the same cool way of talking, except that he's a complete psychopath. (Alternate Bunet was also essentially Felicia, and I assume alternate Pandreo is an atheist who hates parties) Alternate Fogado also really wanted to murder his sister for some reason, which is pretty messed up. Original Ivy hated Zelkov and presumably loved Kagetsu (Don't know for sure since I haven't seen their support) while Alternate Ivy calls Zelkov her favorite retainer and hates Kagetsu, and she also is horrible to Hortensia while Original Ivy was a kind and supportive big sister. Also she's a devout follower of Sombron while the original Ivy hated the idea. (Not to mention Alternate Hyacinth was against it rather than supporting it like his original version) While the original Hortensia is flamboyant and lively, her alternate version is a depressed victim of abuse who hates cute things, also Goldmary was shy instead of narcissistic, and it could be assumed that alternate Rosado was like that as well. But, wow, these conversations are amazing!
7 months late but whatever, Original Ivy respected both her retainers equally & valued their lives, while Alternate Ivy viewed Zelkov as her favorite retainer & disliked Kagetsu due to not being upfront with his general feelings.
Actually Alt Fogado wanting to murder his sister kinda makes sense if you watch his support with Céline. In their support Fogado confides with Céline that both have spent their lives training and becoming strong to support their siblings, and when Céline expresses frustration knowing she spent so long training to fill in for Alfred in case he dies early just to see him happy peppy and bond with life makes her feel that training was partially wasted, which Fogado brings up right before she admits it. Both grew up in a situation where they’re bound to support the siblings in a worse case scenario, except in Fogado’s case he was never meant for the throne so his life revolves around supporting her, while with Céline the fact Alfred was deathly ill and she had to prepare early cause her dad died right around the same time Alfred got sick. This explains why Alt Fogado felt impulsed to kill Timerra cause he probably spent most his life training and learning how to support her, and seeing her become royalty and a queen probably have him more impulsive thoughts of “should’ve been me”
Damn the twist with why all of them are evil was crazy and I like nils dragon form at the beginning I didn’t like sombron dragon form but somehow I like the snake dragons in engage I just wish Alear had an dragon form like we got robbed especially imagine a snake dragon with divine powers maybe it’s a mix of sombron and lumera dragon form with red and blue that would be nice
I like these dialogues a lot. Also, Celine has a convo with Eite which surprised me. I just though that I should attack Celine to weaken her, but they have a unique conversation and I didn’t expect it since that’s not her retainer
I think thats too soon we havent even gotten a second engage banner. I expect a possible fallen M!Shez controlled by Arval and F!Byleth controlled by Sothis from 3hopes and maybe Miklan as a beast unit. GHB unit I could see Morva as an armored dragon. And last maybe Fafnir? I was hoping for Vigarde but they just made him a GHB.
I thiiiiink it's probably a little *too* soon for them to drop a Fallen Engage banner based on the Fell Xenologue, given the Xenologue just released, but I could see them potentially dropping a Fallen F!Alear. (I hope not -- the fact Alear is Sombron's child is a fairly lategame twist!) I do agree with the other commenter in asking for Fallen Shez/Fallen Byleth from Three Hopes, though I doubt it'll happen, given how little love Three Hopes has gotten in general.
@@daekieisms if we get fallen Alear I would hope for male Alear since he's not in FEH yet. Honestly the only fallen unit I'm hoping for is fallen Chrom, I don't have any other predictions 😅
Guess what. Turns out that Cirtinne also had a scene with Diamant too. I tried that one out yesterday and it was a surprise. Well it's because their cousins.
One thing I felt like the base game was lacking in was unique boss conversations with characters outside of Alear, so to see this many boss convos in the Fell Xenologue as well as the new characters having unique boss dialogue with bosses from the base game is a real treat.
It's a damn shame we didn't get to see more of these evil counterparts. I would've love to see things like an insecure, depressed Goldmary or a version of Yunaka that acts cute to draw in enemies but is actually an absolute monster.
I love when the siblings talk to eachother its so sad and really show how different each of them treat eachother Like diamant legit was not surprised that alcryst tried to kill him
All the ones with the retainers are honestly really good, and tug at the heartstrings. You really feel like the royals are grieving like hell. It really let all their VA's pop off. Also I like how Evil Fogado seems way more aware of everything going on than the other evil royals.
Rafal kinda is Xeno Veyle. Veyle is the weak defective child of Sombrom, who only serves him against her will, and she love spices and hate sweets. Rafal was a very powerful son of Sombrom, one that he considered a worthy sucessor, and he fights for Sombrom legacy even after he is long dead and gone, as he wishes to be the Fell Dragon King himself. And he loves sweets and hate spiced food.
You're missing a few. I know at least Etie has one with Celine and Diamant has one with Citrinne. Not really that consistent in regards to solely being retainers and the other versions of themselves and their sibling.
Honestly, Evil Fogado was pretty good antagonist for the few lines he had. Better than any of the hounds imo Makes me wish he was actually a part of the main game.
While a lot of these were wonderful, this DLC really made me appreciate Hortensia in particular that much more. I hated her guts at first. I finally begrudgingly used her in my second playthrough after realizing "best staff user, DAMNIT" and as I started seeing her supports, I realized she had a good heart and was simply ignorant due to her young age and lack of worldly experience. She was selfish, yes, but can you blame her with the trauma of losing her father, thinking she lost her sister, and not having time to grieve? Some of her supports - most notably with Veyle - were legitimately good and made me begin to really appreciate her as one of my favorite characters. Not just in Engage, but the whole series. So when Hortensia - the once-selfish brat with a kind heart - faces down Alt-Ivy and is GLAD she got verbally abused because it means someone else got spared that pain? That made me smile. I only smiled even harder when I saw Hortensia trying to comfort her alternate self. The Hortensia I thought I knew from my first playthrough would have been too sefish to ever do that, but having grown to appreciate Hortensia, that was just really nice to see. In a lot of ways, she's like Severa from Awakening. A good "actual teenager" character. Abrasive at first because of the pain they've been going through, and confused about their feelings at times because of the wild turns their lives have been taking, but good people once you get to know them. Just doing their best to not only survive but to keep everyone they care about alive through it all, too (which is also mechanically reflected in Hortensia's staff skills) while still trying to live their adolescence (Severa wanting to go shopping with her parents, Hortensia buying beauty products from Anna) instead of just acting like that it's time to "grow up" like so many characters of similar age in similar media who just act like adults. I appreciate them a lot for it, honestly.
Honestly this Fell xenolog is cruel in its own rights I mean yes Alear had to fight corrupt lumera and that was cruel and Ivy and hotensia needed to fight their dad same goes for Diamant and alcryst. But here the evil versions must fight their former friends who were probably like family and they don’t even know the truth about themselves.
When they showed that this world would have opposites I thought it would be cool but I did not expect the retainers to be dead and the reactions of each of the royals sound so realistic
If Evil Fogado's statement is true, then Evil Hortensia is even sadder with that fact that corrupted individuals will do whatever it takes to get their desires, without inhibition. Even after everything that happened to her in her life, including her abusive relationship with Evil Ivy, she never wanted revenge or another life like Evil Fogado. All she ever wanted was to be with the people she loved one more time. That's just depressing.

@@Aurirang He did not stop functioning, he told Corrin to pick up their sword and continued the fight. But, he did hold back and allow Corrin to win out of guilt. But, stop functioning he did not.
Some of these are actually pretty sad, I especially felt bad for evil Diamant who felt like he couldn't be a great king. And then there's Alfred who's upset by having no muscles, and Ivy's reaction to the way evil Ivy talked was priceless.
I think Zelkov's was better as far as the Ivy conversations go. Just him going "I can't believe what i am *hearing*" was so good
All of the Hortensia ones bring an absolute tear to my eye...
and then...there's Fogado.
Alfred is probably disappointed that he isn’t the epitome of good health
They’re not evil, they’re opposite.
Then you have characters like Diamont, who isn't evil in either world, but in ours, he comes across as a confident and capable leader, while Fallen Diamont is uncertain and fearful that he won't make a good King.
i think it’s more fogado got double corrupted and was the last human to die other then the four winds and two dragons, he also KNOWS he’s a corrupted
She is a vegetarian who hates music too so you have a perfect point
We mean evil as opposites and alters of playable characters we have.
And Evil Hortesia.... girl needs a hug holy shit
so in the alternate universe, alcryst wanted to kill diamant? man's turning into takumi i swear
kagetsu dying for ivy while she just assumes he never cared for her makes me really upset. he’s so sweet why couldn’t she see that :(
Alter Fogado Is mentally broken because he watched his retainers dying in front of him.
For his dialogue with Timerra i don't understand if he had some quarrels or he didn't like her
@@SuperEljafru That probably means that her Kagetsu was a tsundere.

@@philipboes1100 I really think that certain dialogue should just forego the fighting entirely. There's no world where Ivy would attack that version of her sister.

ivy and kagetsu’s convo is my favorite. it shows exactly the type of thinking that led evil ivy to becoming the person she was. when elusian royalty are so cutthroat, of *course* her first reaction to kindness would be to assume it fake. she’s a total bitch because that’s how she was taught to survive. poor kagetsu got caught up with that, but his loyalty never faultered
Stellar analysis
Another explanation is that this world's Kagetsu might be tsundere. Because if he was just like the main game Kagetsu, it would've convinced Fell Ivy that his care for her was genuine.
Fell Kagetsu being a tsundere would make sense as to why Ivy thinks he hates her, since he would be sending some mixed signals.
Royals: "Are you illusions? Corrupted? Why must I fight the people I love?"
Player units: "Actually, we're from another world."

...I just want to hug Fell Hortensia. And the way she reacted with fear towards Ivy made me want to protect her even more.
And that’s the reason why I’m letting her ship with one of the twins.
And I meant the real Hortensia,
Not that dark phony.
She had it super rough man. Like it’s hard not to feel sorry for her
Even main time line Ivy was like "damn, what happened to her!?"
I don't know about that, Fell Hortensia will attack you
Part of the reason Fell Hortensia hits harder than the other Fell royals is that she uses her voice the same way your Hortensia does.
All three of them died in this alt world, but all alive in the regular world
It's possible that other parts of their personalities simply got reversed instead
Such as Alt Jade being alot less stoic
Almost like thats the whole point of the DLC or smth 🗿
@@OriginalGameteer yeah, it's not that they're all complete opposites, some just have certain aspects changed (and perhaps some, like Mauvier, are largely the same).
That's Zeno ?? As in the guy who voices Goh in Pokemon Journeys ?? Holy shit man's got range huh.
"It is enough for me to watch you die, knowing you destroyed this world!"
"I'm not here for the world. I'm here for the people in it."
That's a really good line from Alear.
I like Lapis the best, "No matter where you end up, you will always be wonderful just the way you are"
My favorite interactions are the Fogado ones.
The writers were on fire with these interactions, I just love evil fogado lines
Ah so this is where all the actual competent writing went. Makes sense.

I genuinely can't tell if Kagetsu's a liar in this world, or if he's the same but Ivy was misinterpreting his friendliness as fake.
Difference being Celiné would be doing it for her kingdom. Fogado would become a mass murderer just for the fun of it
Probably because she used to worship the divine dragon and with that dead all she got is Sombron.
Every other royal: *Each one criticizes their doppelganger in some way*
The retainers: *Either sad to see their person they serve or in Alt!Ivy's case, just messed up*
Alfred: *using his one braincell on muscles*
28:45 if ya’ll wanna see it
29:14 Nil’s expression changes when Marni says that Mauvier chose to die for the four hounds
Madeline my GOAT 😤
Seeing the brother's personalities switch is the craziest thing ever. Alcryt being confident and Diamont being a stressful wreck is honestly terrifying.
Fogado being the only person who really realizes how messed up and hard this would be wanting to hug it out.
And Fell Hortensia needs a hug poor thing TT-TT

I said this in a reply to a comment, but wanted to leave it here too in terms of how much I love the sublety of real Fogado conversing with corrupted Fogado:
Maybe I haven't been paying attention to the fine details of the game, but I can't remember anything in the main game in terms of story or cutscene where a character's expression changes without them talking. Real Fogado's expression changes twice: from shock when he learns that Corrupted him is the assassin, to anger once he actually realizes what that means. It's a nice touch that makes them seem more lifelike, IMO
Ivy seeing her alternate self is hilarious! But I'm surprised that Alternate Fogado is a total psycho!

@Kris Marshall I agree with everything you said. I just meant that I think it's open to interpretation whether real Fogado's shocked expression is due to finding out that fake Fogado was the assassin, or that fake Fogado is capable of being an assassin implying that the real one is capable of the same
You can spoil the 'everyone is corrupted' plot twist if one of your units has 'Holy Stance' equipped and one of the royals attacks you.

@@AzulStryer it just counters damage to them like usual. Nearly the entire xenologue is weak to anti-corrupted weapons as well. Sieglinde is extremely useful.

Evil Fogado is literally "Intrusive thoughts won"
Fogado and evil timerra conversation made me cry a lot. And it’s also because fogado is my favorite unit and love him.
Honestly love Fogado’s cause he has what I can only describe as a Henry-esque personality with making the pain seem like nothing and super blood and battle obsessed
Evil Fogado is my favorite, he’s just randomly this murder crazed psycho, in this campy, self-aware way.
Kind of sad that Veyle and Mauvier don’t have any interactions with these Fell Counterparts. Then again it’s also kind of understandable. Veyle was apparently killed some time ago, Mauvier is already part of the 4 Winds.
"cute things don't really suit me"
She really is evil
It feels like that her want for cute things was brutally beaten out of her by the Alternate Ivy.
Ivy said that her mother was a cruel woman whose smile was just like a dagger waiting to be put in someone else's back so the evil Ivy must be like her mother.
All of these were actually kind of horrorfying, absolutely loving it though. Gonna have a good time playing through this!
Evil Alfred: Is this some kind of twisted joke?!
Our Alfred: Huh, seems like I'm not buff in this world too
Me(Talking to the real Alfred): This Alfred is nothing but a doppelgänger of yourself,
Fight against him and destroy him!😠
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for!
"Hortensia… What has the Ivy of this world done to you?"
That’s extremely! Very! Sad! Ivy’s hatred towards her alternate counterpart is seriously justified. Considering also how Alternate Hortensia has gone through this painful mess.
Alfredn’t: “Damn it, those damned fell dragons, they have deceived me yet again”
Alfred: “no muscle :c”
Wait did you just call the reverse characters -n’ts
Man, these conversations are far more expanded on the idea of reflected ideas! Sound much more mature and darker to the conversation in the original Engage.
Now we wait for the most important aspect for me, the music!
Alt timerra vs fogado and pandreo vs Alt fogado really cut deep
Also she's a vegetarian when the original loved meat (plus, her retainers were flipped as well)
Original Fogado is super laid-back while his alternate version has the same cool way of talking, except that he's a complete psychopath.
(Not to mention Alternate Hyacinth was against it rather than supporting it like his original version)
While the original Hortensia is flamboyant and lively, her alternate version is a depressed victim of abuse who hates cute things, also Goldmary was shy instead of narcissistic, and it could be assumed that alternate Rosado was like that as well.
This explains why Alt Fogado felt impulsed to kill Timerra cause he probably spent most his life training and learning how to support her, and seeing her become royalty and a queen probably have him more impulsive thoughts of “should’ve been me”
The voice actors really gave their A game here.
Maybe it’ll end up in heroes?
I mean we get it with Tiki Engage
I like these dialogues a lot. Also, Celine has a convo with Eite which surprised me. I just though that I should attack Celine to weaken her, but they have a unique conversation and I didn’t expect it since that’s not her retainer
Well I think supports indicate that Celine and Etie are actually close friends. Thank goodness they add convos to closely related characters
These are really cool and really sad at the same time. Evil Fogado is pretty scary ngl. So... fallen engage characters next month in FEH or too soon?
I think thats too soon we havent even gotten a second engage banner.
I expect a possible fallen M!Shez controlled by Arval and F!Byleth controlled by Sothis from 3hopes and maybe Miklan as a beast unit. GHB unit
I could see Morva as an armored dragon.
I love when the siblings talk to eachother its so sad and really show how different each of them treat eachother
Like diamant legit was not surprised that alcryst tried to kill him
Evil Alfred: ARE YOU AN ILLUSION OF THE FELL DRAGON?! >:(
Normal Alfred: ...Aw, I'm still not buff. :(
All the ones with the retainers are honestly really good, and tug at the heartstrings.
The only one I missed are Etie vs Celine & Citrenne vs Diamant. I'll soon upload those!
Honestly, Evil Fogado was pretty good antagonist for the few lines he had. Better than any of the hounds imo Makes me wish he was actually a part of the main game.
I was joking when I said 'evil Louis be like: dies' but then he actually died in the backstory lol
Oh, it's out already. Thank you for uploading these. It is gonna be..painful.=(
Honestly this Fell xenolog is cruel in its own rights I mean yes Alear had to fight corrupt lumera and that was cruel and Ivy and hotensia needed to fight their dad same goes for Diamant and alcryst. But here the evil versions must fight their former friends who were probably like family and they don’t even know the truth about themselves.
Lowkey Alfred with Alear, Lapic and Citrinne with evil Alycrist give me ‘i love you in every universe’ type of vibe. May it be platonic or romantic.
I am honestly hurt by the complete lack of Veyle reactions
Alfred looking at his Xenologue self: "Got damn even in this world my base stats suck"
I couldn't help but think of Persona 4 when sending the royal units to face their evil counterparts.
I love how Celine is verbally agressing her other self without any compassion 😂😂
Is this some kind of twisted...
Dimitri: joke?
Alfred: illusion?
Nil: attempt at humor?
When they showed that this world would have opposites I thought it would be cool but I did not expect the retainers to be dead and the reactions of each of the royals sound so realistic
The real girlboss Ivy was the one we had this whole time.
For most of them it understandable why they sound messed up but the most brutal one is definitely fogado towards his retainers
Alt Fogado is my fave villain archetype: cheerful nutjob
Anyone else wanna comment on Celine wanting to fight Alear to the death? Could that be insight to the Celine we know?
Well these are just our group if they had their spirits broken, so... yeah probably
Yeah holy shit Celine just keeps most of her feelings to herself in our world I guess
But what would the insight be? That Celine wants to fight Alear or that she doesn't? They are opposites.
I never payed attention until now, but Bunnett sounds scary, and it being applied he is a cannibal is even scarier
Canon Ivy and Fell Hortensia's is chilling. The pure shock and horror in Ivy's voice as she meets her alternate little sister is heartbreaking.
