I so wish I had found this video before we parted with loads of money for a static. We sold it 2 months ago at a massive loss and everything you say about the park owners is true, and more. Now we are looking to put a tourer on a seasonal site an the search starts tomorrow. Now I know where to look for the dangers too thanks to your great video. We can't afford to replace our car, so will pay a company to tow it to the site we can find. Thanks so much for all your great advice. :)
Brilliant. I don't think you mentioned that most static caravan sites insist you have to remove the static when it reaches a certain age, often 15 - 20 years old, and replace it with something newer, rendering your 15 yr old static worth peanuts & you with an extortionate bill for a newer static when there was nothing wrong with your old one. A touring caravan on a seasonal pitch has no such caravan age restrictions. Seasonal pitch for a touring caravan wins by a country mile.
Great video and a few Great points. Also, with a static caravan you have No legal protection whatsoever, and what I mean by that is that if a static site decides to Double their prices, there is Nothing you can do about it. There are of course exceptions, with good and honest site owners, but you need to look extremely carefully and ask a few hundred questions.
Totally agree with everything you said been there on both occasions still own both but touring caravans by first choice now static now a bnb let to pay the RIP off fees
I have my 2021 Swift Alpine 4 in storage on a C&CC Club Site in the South East Coast and the site managers bring it out onto the pitch when we want to use it and tow it back into the storage compound. We pay about £650 for a years worth of storage plus nightly age concession rate when we use the caravan. This has turned out to be a great option for us and I thought I’d share our experience to help and inspire others. 2023 is our fifth year with this arrangement and we love it. No towing of the caravan and the ease of convenience equal to having a fully sited static caravan but at a fraction of the cost. Why pay rent to a greedy holiday park owner plus upkeep etc for days that your static caravan will be left empty and not in use? Just a friendly heads up.
Do you have a good source for caravan windows by any chance? I just bought a 90s Hobby Exclusive 7m and it has 2 tall side windows, similar to the Tabbert windows, that need replacing. Im looking for a 2nd hand replacement. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
Eco in Halifax will make you one if you send the broken one but very little chance of finding a second hand one for a 90s caravan these days... specially not a German caravan in the UK. If ebay or marketplace don't return any Eco would be your only option.

Yes there's a site up near us does this. Great option! I should have mentioned it but the spaces are limited.
Jonathon Do you have any recommendations of sites that have seasonal pitches on the North East Coast?
Buying a static on a site is a mugs game
