I don't know their policies/trainings (LASD/CHP), but I don't think they are taught to surround someone at slow speeds. Usually they surround the suspect after a successful PIT where the vehicle gets disabled, or if the suspect is barricaded inside. (usually TAC vehicles will be called in for this, but there has been times where they weren't)

LA Police said they didn't want to get involved. In downtown LA. That is incredible. The cops don't want to handle something likely to be violent and make front page news. It's safer for their careers to mess with old people, feeble people, and Karen's with their cold fries from Mcdonalds complaints. These car chases always have lots of paperwork. It's "catch and release" in LA anyway, so why bother? Let Fullerton and the CHP handle it, that was LAPD's attitude. Was the LAPD doing their job of protect and serve during this chase? What about the hundreds of people this criminal almost killed? Was LAPD protecting them when the LA officers were told to not get involved? The cops don't care because the courts don't care. How many times have you seen a criminal on bail committing more crime? Danielle Kristy 's channel has a case where the guy made bond on 3 major felony charges, didn't show of course, he committed 4 more crimes in 5 days while out on bail. Eventually most of the charges were dropped and he served 30 days and got a verbal reprimand from the judge. She talked tough, I'm sure he was afraid. That city is screwed.

I have watched several of these LA chases. I can not hold my tongue any longer. Over 1/2 dozen police cruisers that come up to a suspect sitting at a red light or forced to stop with traffic? Unbelievable that that many cop cars just sit behind the suspect doing nothing when some smart driving would allow for a cop car to get in front of the subject while at the same time another two get on either side and one behind. Seriously low brow manuvering that could end this ASAP without any collateral damage. So simple yet they would rather sit in a nice line behind the suspect doing nothing but waiting for the light to change. I am so disappointed in the side of right being so wrong.

i think they do that to prevent cross fire, but it's lame that they don't have swat ready to head-on with them using bullet proof vehicles

    • @murraymadness4674

you NEVER put your car in front of a vehicle so they can shoot and kill you. Only idiots do that. They have heavy bullet proof trucks, but it takes a long time to get them where needed. I have been saying for a long time, they need to shoot out the radiator, that disables the car very quickly and is not difficult to do from above, at least I'd think so, but as he drives by instead of spike strips, which are always iffy and dangerous for the police too.
