Definitely G-major multi efect rack unit. I have G-major 2 in my gigging rig and I've tried to find another unit for studio but couldn't find any. Few years ago someone was selling a punch of tc.electronic rack units and I offered to buy just the original g-major but he/she ghosted me. :( Such a versatile unit with amazing effects.

Tc electronic sentry is the best gate pedal I’ve ever used. I’ll never get rid of mine. I also use the flashback x4 and the hof x4. They are great but kinda big. I’ll prolly get something smaller eventually but the sound of them is incredible really.
One company that I view as similar in what they offer as far as pedalboard gear that I really enjoy is electro harmonix. They make killer stuff that will permanently live on my pedalboard. Like their pitchfork+. It’s a total sleeper. I like it way more than my digitech whammy dt. I got it hooked up to my digitech fs pedal and I can control my pitchfork presets with it and then I have a mission engineering expression pedal and I do all my fun Pantera and Gojira pitch squeelies with it! Really fun.

Kristian, the products of TC Electronics are so well designed and it's great that you are impressed by them. I use a lot of their products as a hobby guitarist. I agree that the MIMIC pedal is one of the most great pedals, but I would like to share two older pedals which you should try at least. This is the VPD-1 (Vintage Pre Drive) and the Dual Parametric Equalizer.

For the Integrated Preamp, AuroraDSP makes the Unified Preamplifier, which is a software clone. Also, I currently only own one piece of TC Electronic physical gear, and that's the Eyemaster. I use it as the second stage in a triple pedal double boost setup (the first and third being a Joyo Argos Drive, and the third being a Flamma FC19 Rat clone in turbo mode, with the gain set to 9 o'clock on the Rat and everything else set to clean with the volume dimed). Otherwise, I use it and the Rat to double boost vintage voiced Marshall amps/sims/plugins (JCM800, Plexi Super Lead, and JTM45 are among my favorites).

Always been a huge fan of the NOVA system (multi-FX pedal) has delay, reverb, modulation and pitch shift effects. a compressor and boost. A tuner AND distortions (which was the weakest effect). Bought it for like 200 because it was cheaper than loading a pedal board up and this thing rips. The effects are very customizable with numerous settings and types. Also had a lot of routing options plus even a "high" and "low" output. The only thing effect quality wise i've heard that comes close now is the quad cortex. Gonna have to check out those phaser plugins since those are some of my favorite FX in the NOVA system.

I agree, I love quite a few of their products. Been loving the MIMIQ Double for 5 years now, incredible pedal. For 12 years now I've been using a G-Major for the pitch shifter, amazing tracking even when bending, I like it better than my Eventide Pitch Factor. 3 years ago I discovered the Brainwaves pitch shifter, looks like it's using the G-Major pitch shifter, very similar, good stuff. The Sentry Noise Gate is great too. I still have to look up what else they have that might be great. The only TC product I really dislike it the TC Aeon, some bad attempt at an eBow but it's unreliable, fidgety and very prissy.

I enjoyed this video. I'm letting you know. 👍 My first pedal: TC chorus. Cost me a week's pay ($250 or so) but seemed worth it. Needed a chorus for my twin reverb, since I missed the amazing chorus on my first amp: Peavey backstage chorus 208 (poor man's jazz chorus-amazing solid state cleans/stereo chorus/spring reverb) Latest pedal purchase: TC iron curtain last week for like $35 at GC. I'm really moving up in the world. I'm starting to collect those cheap metal tanks: got the skysurfer reverb and Cinders OD, and now the iron curtain gate. Those cheapos all sound pretty good. I want to get the vintage tube primer pedal and the vintage octascreamer. And the nova drive OD/system. And the preamp, or a clone. TC stuff kicks asses. 👍

The TC Integrated Pre really needs to be re-issued. The trick is to cut all of the bass & to also cut the highs a little bit then boost as much as you can. It's a Baxandall EQ, the shelving that you get cutting the low & highs determines the midrange.

I have a 'TC Electronic' actual tube-driven overdrive which later i discovered was really a behringer-style cheap knock-off of a more expensive and better built 'boutique' pedal (colour scheme, dimensions, name similarities etc). I didn't even know the other pedal existed when i bought it, i saw a real one on that pedal show and then clocked it. I knew TC Electronic made great studio equipment, in the eighties and early 90s I was the assistant for a close mate (bless his memory), whenever he did outside freelance work and he would use the TC stuff if it was available. That's why i bought the tube overdrive. It's very mid. Yeah it's probably not bad enough to be cool, so, 'mid' is about right.

I think there is a lot of gear that is frequently used but not talked much about. Does that mean that these products are bad? No, they just do their f*cking job: no magic machines or secret weapons, but versatile, reliable, robustly built gear, which is usually still affordable. And this might be often more helpful in lot of situations.
For example dbx is basically present in almost every analog studio or live rack (e.g. the 166 and 266, or the graphic equalizer) , but besides the dbx 160 people do not care much about it.
Furthermore, a lot of people (especially not really professional ones) on social media tell you that you have to use or to do certain things to not be considered a stupid amateur. But they often don't realize that people, which defied such "rules", often cleared the way for something which became a standard later-on. But you shouldn't care, as long as you are able to achieve your desired results ...

The Hypergravity multiband comp pedal is such a nice thing to have on any pedalboard!
But if my memory doesn't betray me, TC was bought by Music Tribe way after they got famous again in the pedal (and bass amp) world. I rember reading that Behringer then gave many shitty pedals to TC, so that they can work their magic and make them actually usable (the then ~50€ series like the eyemaster).
Also regarding the old school reverb/delay topic: What about Alesis? Don't know about big studios, but the Microverb and Midiverb units were pretty popular with guitar players and budget oriented studios, as far as I know. The effects quality was, and still is, pretty good, especially for the price point.

TC made the Behringer pedals worse. Behringer made some cheap clones of discontinued Boss pedals, but the fools at TC ruined them. They made the Heavy Metal clone less useful by removing EQ knobs, they changed the Dimension C clone to mono, when the Behringer version was stereo. TC ruined the Behringer pedals. Terrible company.
