  • The TenPoint Viper S400 is an exciting new introduction into the 2020 TenPoint Crossbow lineup. This bow features the revolutionary ACUslide, and many other cool crossbow innovations. In this video we chronograph all three of Ten Point's arrows; the Pro Lite, Pro Elite, and Evo-X Centerpunch. Then we take the Viper S400 out onto the range and shoot a handful of groups to see what it's capable of.

    I’m seriously thinking of getting this bow and like your well spoken videos and knowledge of the products. Would really like to see you shoot the viper and vapor at 30 - 60 yds. I find the vegent a bit too long and front heavy being a 59 yr old life long deer hunter with a bad shoulder that can no longer effectively pull back a compound bow.

    Thanks very much for the video. I've been looking at crossbows lately and this one looks like a winner. Was going to go with a Mission Sub 1 but now I'm reconsidering.
    Also, what tripod stand is that? Where did you buy it?
    Thanks again

    Did you do anything to the crossbow before the chrono testing? I'm shooting the Exo X Center Punch and field points that cam with the S400... I'm getting 360 fps through my chrono. I know its only 10 fps, but hey.... 10 fps is 10 fps.

    Is it possible to get the speed down to 350 FPS with the viper s400 to meet IBO REQUIREMENTS For 3D competitions? If so, What weight , bolt tip combination would you suggest?

    • @NoName-bg2om
      @NoName-bg2om 3 года назад

      Just replace the 100grain field tip with a 200 grain one, should easily dump 20-30 fps

    I do think that all the crossbows shoot perfectly even the low budget crossbows I think the equation is the person shooting it no matter free hand or on a pod pods are the biddies here little bit easier to steady I don’t know too many people and I know a lot of people and none of them shoot freehand it is hard not easy at all so just keep in mind the bow you shoot is a good boat no matter viper Barnett whatever all of them shoot perfectly

    I bought a TenPoint as my first bow, and I will never buy another one. It survived 3 days and 5 bolts before exploding on me.
    We were able to zero the bow at the store before buying it, which took about 5 shots. Then 3 days later I took my brand new crossbow out to the public hunting lands for the white tail opener. I got out to my spot, I watched a massive buck get about 80 yards away from me, so I started to carefully draw my crossbow using the AcuDraw system. About 80% of the way through the draw, the AcuDraw system came apart, launching he claw in to my foot, ripping off the bolt retention arm, and snapping my bow string. Thankfully I was wearing boots and thick pants or I probably would have been going to hospital over that one. Needless to say, the buck got away.
    Repairs will take 3-4 weeks, and TenPoint is doing nothing to stand behind their “craftsmanship.”
    Trusting TenPoint cost me my archery season

      Unlike other Ten Point crossbows the SAFETY CANNOT be moved to left side for left handed shooters however the quiver can be placed on either side. Ten Point fails to mention this important fact about the safety. Lefties Beware!!
